What's your stance on cosmetic plastic surgery?

Do you think it should become more normalized and accessible to the average person? Or are you against it? Most people on this sub seem to agree that it's the only way out if you're truly ugly, but it becoming more widespread would just make the beauty standards even more unnatainable to someone who can't afford it/doesn't want it. What do you think?

EDIT : Grammar.

I turned 16 today! What advice do you have for me?

This feels like such a major milestone to me, I never pictured myself making it this far yet here we are. What do you wish you'd known when you were my age?

What are your opinions on preparation centers for foreign schools like Addictest and Stairway?

I notice that they're not that popular amongst most students, even those who plan on studying abroad. Do you know anyone personally who has done them and is now abroad thanks to them? Or if you've paid for their services yourself how did it work out for you?

Did anyone experience momentary depersonalization after long media consumming sessions?

I remember that for the few minutes after I put the phone down I felt like a different mind trapped in a stranger's body, it would take a few moments to reconcile the idea of "me" and that the memories I posessed meant I was indeed this person, this would only occur after really long doomscrolling sessions or hours of binge watching videos

What does my writing style say about me

Currently in the process of writing a story and this is the first draft, I'm of the opinion that our lazy handwriting when we don't try to make it look polished is our true writing style, and I was always told that mine is hideous, so what does my writing style say about me?

For those of you who have managed to cut back on MD as to where it didn't negatively affect your life anymore

"MD" stands for maladaptive daydreaming, it's a form of immersive daydreaming where the daydreamer feels a compulsive urge to enter an active daydream, it's considered maladaptive when it interferes with real life, it's often paired up with pacing while doing it.

Did you find it more useful to quit it entirely? Or just do it in moderation? Many of us have been daydreaming since childhood and it has been an active neural pathway for many many years, and it's much harder to deprive one's self from creativity and imagination (although this likely isn't the healthiest manifestation of that) than other addictions to things that can just be put out of reach (drugs, alcohol...). So if you managed to beat your addiction, what worked for you?

What are your thoughts on the song "ALICE" by the artist PEGGY

As someone who's MD'd long before I even had a word for it I'm really happy to see it being represented in media, I've admittedly MD'd to the very song itself ironically lol

"Good morning" texts shouldn't be an exepcted gesture in relationships

I get that it's a sweet way of letting someone know you think of them first thing in the morning, but it should be an extra gesture not some "bare minimum" bs. I'll see people complaining that their partner or situationship doesn't text them good morning and some even call it a red flag. While it sure is nice it's a fairly trivial gesture and had no reason to be popularized, people dont have to start their day off by texting you.

EDIT : initially used girls demanding the texts as an exemple but I realize guys do it too, so now it's gender neutral.

Does anybody else keep a stash of daydream inducing audios across different apps?

I am trying to quit MD or at least musically induced MD so I will be laying myself bare here. On a regular day I'll open youtube for "MD fuel" and go through my liked/saved videos and shorts and try to daydream to each and every one of them, if an audio is particarly stimulating I will daydream to it several times, then go to my "music" section and see if there are any music videos that are worth daydreaming to.

After that I will open instagram and go through my reposted/saved reels, which usually leads to me doomscrolling for a bit, which is often how I find new reels with audios that resonate with my fantasies. Afterwards I'll open tiktok and repeat the same process with saved/liked tiktoks.

If I still feel restless after that I will open my gallery and look for downloaded tiktoks and reels that aren't saved anymore. On some days I go through that cycle several times thorought the day and am left with no energy to do anything at all, and since my dopamine receptors are fried beyond recognition afterwards even watching a series or a movie isnt stimulating enough for me, the sad part is even when I clear my stashes as to begin recovery they naturally fill up again over time with new content for me to consume and I relapse again.

This is an addiction in every sense of the word and has made my life marginally worse in countless domains, but I know it's not over and can only get better from here if I put my mind to it, and only I can save myself from me.
