Android auto and Spotify

When I listen to a playlist on my phone and starts my car, android auto continu where I was.

If I go out of my car and android auto stops, Spotify on my phone is several songs late in my queue so I listen to everything else again.

Is it just buggy or am I doing something wrong?

Any solution?

Unwanted AI music in your recommendations? Here's a filter for it.

While waiting for youtube to do the same as Tidal recent policy change regarding AI.

Like for most I guess, a chunk of the "new" artists my recommendations and mix keep surfacing turn out to be fully-AI. I'd skip one and get served another.
I listen every day to music and I like finding artists I could actually go see live, so "is there a real band here" genuinely matters to me.

So I started working on a solution, and about six months later, here it is: SkipIfFake, a listener-side filter for exactly this.

What it does: it's an Android app that reads the artist and track what your music app is currently showing - YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, whatever - and calls a read: Probably Human, Probably AI, or Inconclusive. If it comes back Probably AI and you've left auto-skip on (default, toggle in Settings), it skips to the next track in the app you were already using.

To be clear, it is not an other music service and doesn't replace YouTube Music. It runs in the background and just reads what your music app is already showing while a song plays, and just asks your app to skip the track. Works the same regardless of which app is playing, btw.

Set it and forget it, it'll do its job so you can focus on your music.

How the read works: it cross-references several music-industry sources and looks at the kind of footprint a real artist usually leaves behind.

Of course it can miss. Every artist has a feedback button, so flag it if it gets one wrong. I was especially careful with new artists - a thin footprint gets the benefit of the doubt, not an AI flag.

There's also a web side at skipiffake.com where you can link Last.fm and run the same reads across your listening history (without the skip part).

Would love some feedback, ready to answer your question, and to know if it's a real issue for you too.

SkipIfFake: flags & skips AI artists

I listen to music every day, and in 2025 I started noticing polished new "artists" creeping into my recommendations that turned out to be entirely AI-generated. When I press play I assume there's a "real" band behind the song - someone whose show I could go and see one day - so I built a listener-side filter to tell them apart.

App Name: SkipIfFake

What it does: It reads the artist and track your music app is currently showing - Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud, and more - and gives each artist a read: Probably HumanProbably AI, or Inconclusive. If a track comes back "Probably AI" and you've left auto-skip on, it sends a "next track" command to whichever player is currently playing - the same thing your headphones' skip button does. Nothing is streamed or proxied through SkipIfFake; it only reads what's already playing and sends a skip.

Key Features:

  • Works with whatever player owns the audio - no separate login to Spotify or anyone else, and it isn't tied to a single service.
  • "Inconclusive" is used honestly when the signal is too weak to call, rather than guessing. I was deliberately cautious with emerging artists - a brand-new act with a thin public footprint gets the benefit of the doubt instead of being flagged as AI.
  • Optional auto-skip on "Probably AI" - on by default, one toggle in Settings -> Skip Behavior to turn it off and just see the badge instead.
  • It flags, it never blocks. If AI tracks are what you want, keep playing them. And a musician who uses AI to sketch, mix, or compose is still a human artist - those should read Probably Human, and when they don't, that's exactly the miss I want reported.
  • Companion web app at skipiffake.com lets you link a Last.fm account and run the same reads across your scrobble history, if you want to audit what your feed has been serving you.

I use it daily, I hope it would help you too. Would love some feedback.

An AI-artist filter that works across any music app

I listen to music every day through Spotify. My Release Radar kept proposing more and more obviously AI-only artists, no one I could ever see on stage. That contradicts what I actually value in music, the work behind it and the connection to an artist I might see live one day. That's just not what I'm looking for.

So I spent 6 months building SkipIfFake and use it daily now. It flags AI artists while you listen and labels each one Probably Human, Probably AI, or Couldn't tell.

It runs on Android and works with whatever you're actually playing (Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Deezer), and auto-skips the AI ones (if you want) in the app you're already in. There's a web version too that scans your lastfm history and just reports (no skipping there).

How it decides: it does not analyse audio (a losing battle as the output improves). It looks at the artist's real-world footprint (live history, release patterns, presence across independent sources).

On accuracy, since it's the right question: every verdict is an assumption, not a fact, and it can be wrong. I tuned it to be cautious with new and emerging artists so a small real act with a thin footprint doesn't get auto-flagged, and "Couldn't tell" exists so it isn't forced to guess. Every artist has a feedback button and disagreements feed back in.

I'd be glad for feedback on the app, or if you find it not accurate enough or even not relevant at all 😅

Feel free to test it https://www.skipiffake.com/

I was listening to AI songs without knowing it.

Around a year ago, mid-2025, I started noticing AI artists creeping into my recent discoveries. Not someone using AI as a tool in their own production - There is no real way to spot that and don't have problem with that anyway - but fully AI artists: AI-generated music under a name with no real artist or musician behind it at all. The part that got me was how long it had been going on before I noticed.

I listen to music every day. I like to discover new bands and I go to a lot of live shows. What I care about is the human behind the music, someone whose work I could actually go see on stage and and both receive and give energy. So I'd rather know when my listening time is going to an AI Artist.

I spent about six months building a free way to actually check that.

How it works :

  • Connect to www.skipiffake.com
  • Link your Last.fm.
  • It looks at your last 100 scrobbled tracks (capped at 100 for now - checking more gets expensive to run on a free tool) and flags each artist as likely-human, likely-AI, or unsure.
  • You get a read on how much of your recent listening it reckons is fully AI.

There's also an Android app I use every day that does the same thing in real time on whatever music app you're playing (Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Deezer, SoundCloud). With auto-skip switched on, it skips the assumed fully-AI tracks for you automatically.

How the assumption works: it cross-references several sources and looks at the footprint an artist leaves, then makes its best guess from that.
Of course, it can miss. I have been especially careful with new and emerging artists so the filter does not unfairly hit them, but errors may happen. If you spot one, open that artist's page and leave feedback - those reports are how it gets better.

If you give it a go ( https://www.skipiffake.com/ ) , I'd really appreciate some friendly feedback. Let me know what you think about this, or about AI music (It's quite a topic 😉)
