My Pixel 9 screen is broken. Black screen. When activated, green dots galore. I can't use my phone at all. If I plugged into my Chromebook with a USB, is there a website that'll allow me to mirror my Pixel screen and use it? I really need this. Badly. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I posted a few days ago about my screen not working. And it seemed like others were having the same issue.
I don't want to jinx myself and there are still issues with my screen. It seems the entire left side of the screen won't respond. For example, I can't use certain letters and can't access punctuation marks with the button on the keyboard.
But, my phone started to wake up and let me actually access my phone so that I can use it. Which makes me think this is not a hardware issue. Anyone experience something similar?
I'm not too familiar with the recent Cox merger with Spectrum. However, ever since the merger was announced (or happened? again, not kept up too much), I have experienced multiple outages a week for brief periods. Today, alone, I've had 3 outages each lasting a few minutes each. Which, yeah, first world problem. But, still, annoying. Is this only me or is this across the board in our area?
Hey, guys. I bought a Google Pixel 9 January 2025 from my local phone carrier. It's been fine until recently. For the last couple of months, I've noticed that my screen will get green pixelated dots/lines and/or go black when I go to unlock the screen. It has gotten much worse in the last week or so to the point where it'll take 15 to 20 minutes for me to get enough screen time to get in and do what I need to do. It's often black screen now but I can still use all the buttons on the homescreen.
I checked my warranty status and of course it the warranty expired already. Is there a working fix or something I can do to get it fixed? I'm not in the financial position for an upgrade at the moment.

Hi there, I've been unemployed going on 2 months now and have been applying to jobs related to my experience. I was an active real estate agent for many years but my license is currently inactive due to some personal issues. My last job was a retail job. So, a lot of jobs that I've been applying to have been sales and/or project management type of jobs.
One job application that got me an interview is at a locally owned boutique jewelry store - not a national chain - in our Downtown area. I've never bought an expensive piece of jewelry myself so I've never really even been into a jewelry store.
I have a few button downs and, like, 1 pair of khakis. I've never really needed business casual ever since I quit my banking job years ago - prior to being a real estate agent. I've got 1 navy blue suit that I break out for weddings or other events that require a suit. I was thinking of wearing my suit to this interview on Wednesday. But, I'm not sure if it's overkill or what. And Google is not really helpful. Anyone have a thought?
There is more than likely a chance that you have a local club nearby. It's probably an amateur or a semi-pro club. That's great! Go to the matches. Meet the team. Follow whatever league they may be in. Have fun.
My local club is a semi-pro club. I've been involved with them in some way for years now. This past weekend, my local club won their league championship game and now have a spot in the 2027 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup - the American equivalent to the FA Cup.
All the talk for pay to play and MLS v USL is tiring. What will help grow the game is people like you and me getting involved with your local club - even when it's just an amateur or semi-pro club.
I have a very poor credit score due to my own bad decisions and choices. I might - need to check/verify - also have a suspended driver's license. I have never been detained or arrested. I have a broken down vehicle that is still on a van loan. And because of that, I am still required to have insurance for a vehicle I haven't driven in 3 years and is broken down.
I can probably get my driver's license sorted sooner than later. But my credit score needs a lot of work.
I'm trying to get a job - almost any job - to restart my working life.
When a job posting asks about these 2 things, how much consideration is given to the job?

I give her a few classics. After I answer, she tells me that I'm not what she is looking for. She needs someone who can sell books people actually buy and read.

I read a lot of classics and old books - think Hemingway, Tolkein, Twain, etc. After answering her question, she said she needed someone who read contemporary modern books that actually sell.
Well, that's frustrating.
Quick question. A cop knocked on my door yesterday. I wasn't able to answer the door immediately, but a minute or so after they knocked, I opened my door and nobody was there. There was a cop car posted up in front of my neighbor's house (next door neighbor to my left). And another cop car pulled up a minute later.
My left door neighbor said he saw the cop pull up and knock on my house. Turns out the cops went to my next door neighbor to my right.
I have no reason for cops to pull up to my door. And neither does my neighbor to my left. So why post up there and knock on my door when whatever the call was was not for us?
I tried to look up the interactive crime map on ECSO, but it looks like the website is down. So again, why do cops do this?

My best friend lives several states away and we both were watching the Norway-England match yesterday. We ended up on the same wavelength.

4th of July 2015: I'm at a party with some friends. One of my friends asked me whether I had seen the Facebook post about my best friend. I said no.
Long story short. My best friend had passed away that morning due to a motorcycle accident. I had the misfortune of being the first to inform many of my close mutual friends the news.
4th of July 2018: I work as a real estate agent. This was my first year in the business. I had just closed a deal for my buyer who was in his 70s and moving from one state to another because our marijuana laws are better. We close on his new home on a Friday. He says that he'll move in on Monday.
Monday comes, movers show up to the new house but buyer never shows. The selling agent calls me to update me. I can't get in touch of my buyer so I say give it another day and then we'll figure something out. Tuesday comes and no show. Wednesday morning - the 4th of July - I get a call from an unknown number. Turns out, it was my buyer's son who was furious with me. He tells me that my buyer - his dad - had passed away in a jail on Tuesday.
Turns out that my buyer was arrested on Monday and passed away from heat exhaustion the next morning. The charge for his arrest? Marijuana possession in the state he was moving from.
4th of July 2021: this is during the COVID pandemic. My grandpa had been sick for a while and then he got COVID. That complicated his health even more and on the 4th of July, my grandpa passed away.
I haven't gone out or really celebrated the 4th of July since 2021 even though nothing as serious has really happened for a few years now. So what do I do tomorrow?
