I'm trying to print a 20cm 'brick man' from here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1524063-brick-man-in-lederhosen-with-hat-20cm?from=search#profileId-1597388

Where it's switching from black to yellow I'm getting visible banding around the print. I did a bit of googling and one suggestion was lowering the outside print speed which I did (from 300 to 80).

What else could I try? I'm using Sunlu PLA+ for the Yellow, and Bambu PLA basic black.

Second hand 360 - X4? X4 Air?

I have traded in a bunch of redundant stuff at CEX so have a nice voucher to spend. Insta360 is calling my name, and I'm thinking of the X4 Air over the X4 or X5 - I can get a B grade Air with the starter bundle for just over £300, and then have the bullet time thingy, and spare lens kit to take me near to my voucher value.

This is more of a fun thing to have when we go away on holiday or camping, so not necessarily after the latest and greatest.

Am I missing anything obvious here? Does this seem like a decent enough setup to start off with? Thanks!

Dust!

So after spending about 3 weeks coughing up dust after last year, I'm thinking of being a tiny bit sensible and taking a bandana or something to at least try and stop inhaling quite so much of the lovely Reading dirt.

Wondering if this actually worked last year though? Or is it just a path to extra sweatiness?

Cerbo - Losing Wifi connection following fw update

I updated my FW on the Cerbo a couple of days ago. Before I did this, wifi connection to the 4g dongle I have in my camper was stable - no losses for as long as I can remember.

Since the update, it's dropping connection which only seems to come back if I power cycle.

It is quite an old unit - serial number HQ2148.

The other issue I've had since the update is a total loss of bluetooth so all my Ruuvi sensors are now offline - hoping to resolve this with a bluetooth dongle.

So I guess question is - has anyone else experienced this, and is my unit too old for the new FW to be stable?

( I did the update so I can use the Mopeka Pro 200B).

Bye Holly

She was stubborn beyond belief, permanently hungry, and after slowing right down she somehow managed to give us five more years than we ever thought we’d have with her and made it to just shy of her 15th birthday. In her head she's still a puppy but sadly her body has let her down and it's definitely time. Absolutely devastated. We're left with one of her pups who is 11 and once he goes I don't think I can ever do this again.

Riverside Pubs

In London this Saturday, staying in Westminster area. It's looking like it's going to be a scorcher so thinking of parking ourselves in a riverside pub at 12 and seeing what happens from there!

I've seen Tamesis Dock round that way, but I'm also willing to travel a bit if there's a decent option elsewhere. (I did try and check the wiki but it's not working).

Any recommendations much appreciated - thanks.

"Different" stuff for two days

I'm in London for the cricket next weekend. There is every chance that either or both days won't happen, so I'm looking for some ideas on 'different' things to do.

I live fairly local and have done most of the standard tourist things, but I'm sure there are some interesting things that are less popular but still great. I'm thinking museums, walks, that kind of thing - we went to Lifesize Monopoly last year and I wanted to run away.

Staying near to Lambeth Bridge so bonus points if the things are nearish to there! Any ideas much appreciated!

England World Cup games - in a Pub - Under 18

Does anyone know of any pubs in Reading that will allow under 18s in to watch the England games? I've got a 17 year old who is 18 in 3 weeks, but can't find anywhere that will let us in after 8pm.. (I realise this is licencing related).

Westminster (Lambeth bridge) weekend recs

I’m in London at the end of the month on a Saturday and Sunday. (Have tickets for the 5th day of the cricket at the oval on the Sunday but unlikely that will go ahead!)

I’m staying near to Lambeth bridge area (north of the river), so looking for recommendations for lunch and dinner on both days that isn’t too much of a trek.

More on the casual end than posh, but not Nando’s end of casual..

Any recommendations appreciated - 2 of us, we’re not fussy and will eat pretty much any type of food. (But my wife won’t touch a Sunday lunch unless she’s cooked it herself ).

Genesis 2 rusted out side burner

The father in law has bought a flat top grill so passed this on to us - however the side burner is rusted out as per the pics.

I reckon I can just clean up the base, rust treat and over plate with some stainless? Has anyone done similar?

Photos from 20 Years ago (nearly!)

I was visiting family in Toronto 20 years ago - these popped up in my Google photos today.

To add - I'm from the UK, I'd never watched baseball and I had no idea what was going on for most of the time I was there, but had a great time talking to the two ladies who were sat next to me and trying to explain it. Jays won so all good in the end!

Also hope that Jay and Rian are having/had a good birthday this year.

Pcb repair - speaker input board

Hopefully this fits the sub.

I bought a second hand mini hifi but the delivery driver must have drop kicked it over the fence 😂.

The speaker terminals on the back were pushed upwards which has in turn snapped the pcb (I think).

With the case off, and pulling the termimals down I get output but with the case on I can't get the right angle and get nothing.

What are my chances of repairing this? I've had a refund from Ebay so don't have much to lose, but also not sure it's even possible / worth trying? Options and opinions most welcome!
