This thought experiment is supposed to be a clever mocking of Quantum Mechanics, on how ridiculous it sounds when it is applied to everyday scenarios, The Showrunners use this clip to make sense of their timelines, which is so offputting. It was supposed to be a critique of the talk about quantum mechanics not a supporting argument. you are missing the point!
I know it's just a tv show not like a science class(even though the show treats it as such) but it bothers me more than it should.
