With all the resources they threw at this, they probably could have solved the dead internet problem

All this research into AI and LLM just to worsen the problem. They could have used this technology to make a detection system to get rid of bots but of course we know why they don't. It was the goal from the start.

The resource drain and complete circumventing of legal boundaries is bad but I think this is the biggest reason AI is so sinister; the end goal is control and subjugation. AI is a tower of babel and unlike in the bible we don't have some big man in the sky that we can turn to, nobody to wave a hand and make all of this go away.

I'm actually feeling sad that I will never get to watch this movie for the first time ever again

I have not stopped thinking about this movie for the past 3 days; since I watched it. I have dived into breakdowns, cast interviews, behind the scenes footage and any sort of obsession based media. I've re-played and analyzed the movie in my head over and over again. I am quite literally obsessed.

I would give anything to be able to watch this movie again for the first time. I remember how I thought this was just going to be another movie, another story that I remember for a while, a conversation starter perhaps. I mean I literally went to the cinema to watch Supergirl and this movie just so happened to be showing right after. I bought the tickets because I was just curious since I had seen memes online.

This movie turned out to be so much more than I could ever imagine. I can't even begin to describe the impact this movie has had on me.

The most genius and final scare that this movie is giving me, is the fear of never being able to find a better movie than this.

Bear's actions may have been evil, but there's not enough hate for Ian.

Hear me out.

Bear was set up from the get-go. He was only infatuated with Nikki as a trauma response. He was dealing with his grandmother's declining health and eventual passing. Nikki was there to comfort him as a friend but that inadvertently let his mind latch on to something other than his situation, starting what later becomes his unhealthy obsession with Nikki. His cat then dies and speeds up the development of his Obsession.

However! Before the cat dies he is planning to confess his feelings for Nikki, which could have resulted in one of two things happening:

1 - Nikki letting him down gently, and them remaining friends. Eventually Baron realizes that his infatuation was just a trauma response, and that Sarah appreciates him for who he is, they eventually start dating.

2 - Nikki accepts his confession and they go on dates and eventually Nikki develops feelings for Baron naturally, and Barons unhealthy obsession becomes real love through much adjustment throughout their relationship.

2.1 - They eventually break up, but they talk it out and realize that Barons feelings toward Nikki wasn't real and they accept that and move on.

HOWEVER!!!!!!!!! Ian was poisoning all this from the start because they were sleeping together and he was worried Baron might actually put a stop to that.

Ian was telling him that his very sweet confession was complete garbage and to call her "freaky nikki". Which he knew she would hate. He then very deliberately gets in the way of Nikki and Barons alone time at the bar. When they are leaving he says "get your girl home safe" knowing what Nikki's response would be and how that would dissuade Baron further.

He then keeps getting in the middle of them even after they start dating. Investigating Nikki's estranged father. I mean sure a concerned friend would do that, but now we know he had ulterior motives. He also tries to make Baron choose between his "friendship" and Nikki, forcing him to come to the party alone and lying about Sarah not joining. His reasoning is that his relationship with Nikki is a bad look but he probably poisoned the well there too and convinced everyone that Baron was taking advantage of Nikki while she's going through a hard time. Maybe anyone outside of the 4 main characters didn't even know that Nikki was "going through" anything, for all we know he made it up as an excuse and everyone else just thought Nikki and Baron started dating organically.

Baron might have been the bullet but Ian was the gun. He set everything off with his manipulation of his so-called friend. Inadvertently, I'll give him that but I think he's still at least somewhat responsible for the events that transpired.

Nikkis situation at the end is just now hitting me

It's been a couple of days since I've watched this movie and I still can't stop thinking about it. I think my brain is still processing everything slowly and really reading into it because the ending just hit me. I just felt a wave of sadness once I realized where the story left Nikki. I actually almost cried

She's sitting in an apartment severely injured and once the adrenaline wares of she's going to have to feel it too. She's wearing Sarah's clothes and scalp while Baron and Ian lay dead on the floor. Her entire friend group of over seven years, all dead in their early twenties and all of their bodies are in one place surrounding her.

Not only that she now has to deal with the trauma of all that she witnessed and experienced, highly likely from a prison cell.

What happened to Nikki was entirely unfair and out of her control and yet, her life is completely ruined.

Edit: Sorry, upon review, she just styled her hair like Sarah, Sarah's hair was still on her corpse in the chair.

I HATE obsession

If you're planning to watch obsession/haven't watched it and aren't planning to then PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. Go in blind, trust me.

TLDR: Watch obsession.

>!I hate obsession. It's ruined all other movies for me; I cannot imagine having a better theater experience. I am literally obsessed.!<

>!For the longest time, I thought I just didn't like horror movies. Even when watching something like the exorcist or the shinning; the most highly regarded horror movies really were just...ok. I mean they weren't boring, but they just weren't scary at all. Sure, getting chased around by an axe wielding madman in a haunted hotel is a scary situation, I know that. They were entertaining movies but they just weren't scary movies to me. Good movies, but not exactly scary.!<

>!Obsession does the complete opposite. The setting is entirely mundane; man loves woman but doesn't know if she loves him. Couldn't care less. I mean who hasn't felt that way? "Suck it up buttercup." I was saying to the main character in my head. Not only that but the video quality looked bad, I almost thought the cinema fucked up somehow and was trying to show a screen-sync version of the movie. I mean even the aspect ratio was bad. Then as the movie went on I was thinking to myself: "Inde Navarette loves you? Oh poor baby, whatever will you do? twat. I mean so what if she's acting weird?"!<

>!By the end, I felt like a soldier in enemy territory; Is it quiet because nobody knows I'm here, or is that what they want me to think? The more the movie tried to get me to relax, the more anxious I felt. I knew something was coming and yet, clairvoyant as I was, I still felt fear. The characters, the weird aspect ratio and shitty video quality the boring start; It was all a trap and boy was I a fly in a spider's web. !<

>!If you're planning on watching this movie, I suggest you do the same and get trapped yourself, let the movie guide your thoughts completely. Though if you've read all this I don't know if it's possible. !<

People that complain about having to take care of their children...

Every time someone with kids does this it really just makes me want to never speak to them again.

"Ugh I have no time to myself between work and my kids."

"I'm so tired because I have to take care of my kids."

"You're so lucky, you have so much freedom since you don't have kids."

Natalists need to stop blaming their children for their own choices. The child wasn't bestowed upon you at random, it was very deliberate choices that led you to having this life.

Should I buy the gpro superlight 2?

I'm daily driving a g603 and the size and shape is perfect for me; I have large hands and I like to palm my mouse. But after trying the g309, I have to admit that the lower weight is nice; the shape was horrible for me though so I sold it.

Now I have the opportunity to get a gpro superlight 2 for a good price. I googled the dimensions and it's apparently longer, but shorter and thinner than the g603.

TLDR: If you have a gpro superlight 2, would you recommend it for someone with large hands and palm grip?

This one took wayyyyy too long. Clementoni, Johannes Vermeer: Girl with a Pearl Earring, 1000 pieces.

The middle bit was fine but the outer darker part took months because I had to sit down and just brute force test each piece. I lost motivation and ended up only doing a few pieces every day in between me doing other things until the uncompleted area got small enough that I could do it in one sitting.

Is this board cooked?

Tried to replace the switches on my mouse. But when I went to de-solder it, the solder wouldn't melt. Before I take it to a professional to have it done properly, I need to know if the board is still functional.

I'm not sure what it looked like before but the lines look kind of dark but only in certain parts of the board and I'm not sure if that's normal.

TLDR: For those who solder electronics, does the board look cooked to you?

Is this board cooked?

I am trying to replace the switches on my mouse. I did it before; I did a really bad solder job but I did it. I opened this mouse to fix another issue and decided that while I was at it, I would try to change the switches.

This time around though the solder is just refusing to melt no matter what I do. I even ruined the switch that isn't in the pictures, the pictures are of the second switch; the plastic housing of the switch started deforming around the pins before the solder melted. I did manage to get it out eventually though. So I decided to try and be more careful with this one.

Anyway, more heat, more flux, fresh solder, all of it is not working. I've given up and I'm just going to go to a repair shop tomorrow to have someone with more experience do it. Should have done that in the first place.

Looking at the board, I'm seeing some black lines where the connections are. I'm not sure if they were like that originally so now I'm wondering if I accidentally burnt the board...

TLDR: Please help me asses if the board will still function. I might have heated it too much.

Questions for the ballers

I came across a video on youtube about trackball mice and now I'm super curious. I've never even seen a trackball in real life let alone used one. I'm thinking about switching to a trackball whenever I'm not gaming now to try to prevent damage. But I have some questions.

  1. Does it make sense to get one if you're working on a laptop? What I mean is does it offer a significant advantage over a trackpad?
  2. How long do they last? I heard the balls get scratched up after a while and then you can't use them? Or the tracking gets worse? Or have trackballs also improved in quality over the years?
  3. What are some benefits that people don't usually talk about?

Why do americans even put up with HOAs?

Why don't you all just....ignore them?

HOA's seem completely insane even if your country isn't boasting about "freedom" all the time so it seems extra stupid that it's a thing in america. How did it even get to a point where they can force you to pay a fine or serve jail time for making YOUR house look the way YOU want it to?

People that try to resell items for retail price

I like to buy second hand items online, mostly tech. Mostly because of the savings but also because it's more fun than just ordering it from an online retailer; the negotiating, meeting new people, the savings, it's all kind of fun...most of the time.

It kind of annoys me when I see someone list an item that I can easily buy brand new for the same price. It's even worse when they think you're lowballing them, even after you've pointed out that their price is too high for a second hand item.

I get it, it's theirs and they get to decide how much to sell it for. It's just a personal thing because it feels like they're playing the game wrong. It's like playing basketball with someone who refuses to dribble; sure you can just wait for someone to pass you the ball for the shot but it's just...wrong.

Is it just me or is zhonya's a win more item

I think I might be just using it wrong but I feel like zhonya's is significantly less useful when I'm behind. It kind of feels like I'm just cc'ing myself sometimes when I use it.

Or when I'm the only strong one on the team and I hit zhonya's, it feels like I'm just removing myself from the teamfight for a few seconds, which just leads to my team getting blown up.

Idk the item just seems really situational and I've rarely had games where buying it over another damage item has really paid off.

My neighbour keeps connecting to my desktop soundbar

I'm not completely sure it's my neighbour, but nobody in my house watches chinese media so I'm fairly certain.

This soundbar has both bluetooth and wired connection but there's no way to turn off the bluetooth and it automatically switches to the bluetooth connection by default.

I'm usually playing mages like xerath and asol in mid and I always struggle when my teammates are behind. I usually end laning phase ahead but when I press tab I see 2 losing lanes and/or a fed enemy jungle.

Am I supposed to group and play more aggressive? Or do I just try to minimize deaths? I feel like sometimes when I play passive and avoid teamfights I'm holding myself back from the comeback, but when I try to play more aggressive the 0/7 adc or jungler just pops my ass and I lose anyway.
