Find the cat treat
I dropped another cat treat on this blasted carpet and not even my cat can find it.
The chocolate covered cherries in this mix are amazing.
But there's only three or four in a bag. Does anyone know who supplies them? I'd buy a bag of just those cherries.
The chocolate coating on them is much more flavorful than the coating on their normal bulk chocolate covered almonds or raisins.
Looks pretty normal at first...then you get to the first floor.
>The ground floor comprises a well-positioned retail unit, benefitting from good footfall, along with a basement, staff facilities, and additional cellar storage. The commercial space provides flexibility for a variety of business uses (subject to any necessary consents).
>Accessed independently from Hole in the Wall Street*, the upper parts of the property feature a spacious and self-contained three-storey apartment. The accommodation includes two bedrooms along with well-proportioned living space, making it ideal for residential letting or owner occupation.
>Combining character, versatility, and a prime central location, this property represents an excellent investment opportunity with potential for both commercial and residential income.
*Yes, that last photo is literally a giant hole in the wall. You can't make this stuff up.
That might be the longest mold hair I've ever seen
This is a building for sale. My favorite part is this unintentional pun about the apartment above this:
>Accessed independently from Hole in the Wall Street, the upper parts of the property feature a spacious and self-contained three-storey apartment.
Street is sure a fitting place for this building to be!
If you track an item on Patagonia, they send you this weekly pain in the ass email to make you think it's available, but it isn't
They send these weekly and make the title shorten to look like what you're tracking is back in stock. It's not.
This house wouldn't sell, so they relisted it with AI staging. Digital lipstick on a pig
Roborock S6 suddenly can't position itself, but only on a scheduled cleaning
I have a Roborock S6 with the auto-empty dock. It's been great for us! We have a schedule to run it once a day at 7am.
However, in the past week, it has stopped being able to do the scheduled cleaning. It starts up, gets off the dock, then looks around and says "positioning, please stand by", turns a few times, then wanders around the house randomly until it comes back to the dock, says "positioning failed" and gets back on the dock. Oddly, when it says "position failed" it's only on the robot itself, I do not get any notification in the app that anything went wrong with the scheduled cleaning.
If, directly after this, I start the exact same cleaning manually, it does not need to position and works fine.
Has anyone run into this and has any advice? I've tried updating the firmware, cleaning the sensors, and remaking the scheduled cleaning in the app.
Jungle Jim's International Market is the largest grocery store in the US and has an average shop time of 3 hours
youtube.comThe color pages themselves are obviously AI-made. But is the coloring also AI enhanced? A sneaky marketing conspiracy.
This user is going viral on an adult coloring group for their masterful-looking coloring of these AI generated coloring books with just colored pencils (no markers or oil pencils, etc.). No one in the comments mentions any suspicions.
However, I feel like these colorings themselves are also themselves AI enhanced.
I looked up the book she's using and it was only published last month and has no reviews on Amazon. One of several hundred AI slop coloring books "published" by the author. The Facebook user themselves seems a real person, but all they post to this group is AI coloring pages from two no-name authors who only publish AI slop art books by the dozens with little to no reviews.
I redacted the book and author since I'm not trying to draw more attention to AI junk. It just smells to me like an attempt at a viral marketing campaign.
If the poster can color so well, why waste their time on obvious slop unless they're getting paid for it? Maybe I'm overestimating the skill required to get the above effect on pages which already have the values on them. I'm not familiar with these kinds of books.
The coloring pages are AI, that's not a question. But is the coloring also AI enhanced?
Local photographer claiming there's no AI use in his photo editing
Note: I blurred the photographer's name to abide by rule 11.
The photographer recently made a post with the photo on the right by itself. People called him out that he was using AI to edit his photos.
This is his response (obviously written by AI itself):
>" Before You Say “It’s AI”… Read This…
>A few people have asked about my editing process, so I thought I’d share a behind-the-scenes look.
>The image on the left is the original RAW file straight from my camera of the shot I took on [redacted]. The image on the right is the finished photograph.
>A RAW file isn’t meant to be a final image. It’s designed to capture the maximum amount of light, color, and detail so the photographer has the flexibility to create the image they envisioned when they pressed the shutter. Think of it as a digital negative.
>My editing process included recovering highlight and shadow detail, adjusting exposure, contrast, color, selectively editing different parts of the scene using masks, and bringing out the mood I experienced as this storm rolled in. Every adjustment is done by hand based on what I saw and what I wanted to convey.
>Photography doesn’t end when the shutter clicks. The camera records data—it doesn’t interpret emotion, atmosphere, or artistic intent. Editing has been an essential part of photography since the days of the darkroom, long before digital photography existed.
>I also know that whenever someone shares an edited photo today, there are often comments like, “It’s AI.” There’s a big difference between photo editing and AI-generated artwork. Every image I share begins with a real photograph that I captured in the field. The photo never existed until I took it. I spend countless hours planning locations, waiting for the right light and weather, composing the shot, and then carefully editing it to reflect what I experienced. The editing process enhances what was already there—it doesn’t invent a scene that never existed.
>Constructive questions are always welcome, and I’m happy to explain my workflow. But dismissing someone’s work as “AI” without understanding how photography and post-processing work overlooks the time, patience, technical knowledge, and creativity that go into producing an image.
>Photography is both a technical craft and an art form. The camera captures the data—it’s the photographer who transforms that data into a finished image.
>I hope this comparison helps explain why photographers shoot in RAW and why editing is such an important part of bringing a vision to life. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to ask thoughtful questions, support my work, and follow along on this journey. It truly means more than you know.
> Left: Original RAW file
Right: Final edited photograph"
The photo on the left is real, the photo on the right looks AI "modified". Obviously the dude did not use traditional editing to "recover highlight and shadow detail". You can't recover detail that doesn't exist.
But whenever someone points out that he's not just editing the photo, he doubles down and claims there's no AI and it's all his own work and they just don't understand the level of effort and skill it takes to bring a photo to its full potential. It's honestly making me mad.
So, is he full of it?
This colander has one hole missing in the pattern
Silly assumptions you made that made things harder for you?
Tagging this as major spoiler just in case, but I'll add progressive spoiler marks, so you can stop clicking on them when they get too far. I've tried to list them in roughly order of how deep in the game they are.
I play this game on Switch. My TV is not enormous and I need glasses.
- I already took screenshots of everything to zoom in since I couldn't read the papers from the couch, >!so I thought the Magnifying Glass was useless and cumbersome.!< I played half the game without ever using it and had to back and >!look at every paper again.!<
- I thought >!the elevator to the basement!< wouldn't work if >!the keycard power was off!<.
- I thought the >!safe codes!< must be >!more involved with the plot than they were.!< I thought they must have to be >!important dates, like the day our grandparents got married!< (was hunting for >!when the eclipse was!< >!as mentioned in the Ballroom!<). I >!got to Room 46!< and >!solved half the sigil puzzles!< before I >!opened any safes!< beyond >!the Shelter.!<
- After >!getting to Room 46 the first time!<, I had no thought that you could go back. >!I assumed it would just end the game again.!<
- I thought >!the Bunk Room!< >!was our room!<, not >!our Grandpa's room!<. I thought it was updated from when we stayed at the house. What mislead me was the game system- >!since it seemed too advanced for Grandpa's youth.!<
- Early on I thought we had a brother named Herbie because of this >!Bunk Room!< misconception, >!and I thought our brother was "the red prince" and we were "the blue prince".!< Until I saw >!photos of us alone with our parents.!<
- I thought >!if you bought swim trunks!<, you could >!swim across the reservoir to easily get between sides!<.
- I thought >!the Lunchbox!< had a Native American on it, not >!an Ajeran Angel!<. I assumed this for so long that I didn't even think of it when I needed to >!identify the angels by name later.!<
- I>!had no idea there was a hallway off the Underpass!< for probably 60 days. I just glazed over the long walk.
- After reading >!the red letter in the Study,!< I thought >!we must have to get one of the Throne puzzle items from the Closed Exhibit.!<
- I also didn't notice >!there was a blueprint after the last page of that letter!<, and didn't even >!pick up Closed Exhibit!< until after I was finished with the game.
Oh and an honorable mention:
- >!My husband didn't let me drain the Aquarium until day 40 or so because he thought it would kill the fish.!<
I think I need to get my glasses prescription checked after some of these.
What silly assumptions did you make that made things harder for yourself?
Impressive mushroom that grew out of a bag of mulch in NY, USA. What is it?
The key made for disabling my beeping smoke detector at the end of its life broke when I tried to use it
BEEP had to listen to the smoke detector BEEP continue to go off until BEEP I found a random item that BEEP could fit into the groove and turn BEEP at the right angle.
Yes I did use a BEEP screwdriver but only one of the BEEP dozen that I had BEEP actually fit in the BEEP slot.
If you're here to BEEP complain about my BEEP fingernails, one, I am a BEEP woman, and two even if I BEEP wasn't it's BEEP pride month you jerk, let BEEP people live their lives.
If you haven't played Penelope Pendrick and the Art of Deceit, you need to right now! (No spoilers)
I just finished Penelope Pendrick and the Art of Deceit ($24.99 on Steam) and it blew me away, especially for a first-time release from a very small game developer.
It has vibes so similar to Nancy Drew in her renaissance that I sometimes forgot I wasn't playing a Nancy Drew game. Without spoilers, the story and plot were engaging and interesting, the characters were well-fleshed-out and had more grown-up facets, the puzzles were varied and challenging (without being too hard, on senior), and the snooping and investigating was top notch!
I'd also say it's longer than the average ND game, more Blackmoor Manor length or even a bit longer. My first playthrough was 20 hours.
Of course it was not without a few bugs and issues, but honestly as a first game I am incredibly impressed and hopeful for this developer's future. I really think they can fill the Nancy-shaped hole in our hearts that the modern ND games haven't been able to.
I was also very excited to see that there was a traditional preview for the next game at the end! I haven't been happily surprised with a game preview in so long that it made me nostalgic for old Nancy Drew days.
Please buy this game and give it a try, it's an obvious labor of love that's a joy to play, and will help support future games by this promising team.
