Rick banishing Carol

Do you think it was the right call?

Carol and Rick had a discussion about it while they were on that last run where he leaves her. Rick said "I never killed two of the group" and Carol retorts "just one" referring to Shane. He then says "That's different, he was going to kill me" and she says "So were they." She goes on further to ask if he'd have done it if it would save Judith's and Carl's life, which he doesn't respond to. And she finished the convo up by saying "You don't have to like what I did, just accept it."

So, what do you guys think? All things considered, do you think Rick was in the right for banishing Carol?

Season 4 Prison

I feel like it's pretty unrealistic that the fences get overrun by the walkers. During the first episode, there were a few clusters or walkers 1, maybe 2 layers deep at max. With all the residents in the prison, they could be taken out in 30 minutes! Idk why they left them.

I am rewatching now and just started S04E01, and there were clusters of walkers but definitely enough to kill all in 30 min. The fact that the prison is overrun because the walkers pile up, the reason I remember them giving is because the walkers on the fences attract more walkers. It just feels like something totally avoidable.

Ricking Kicking Sasha and Tyreese out...

This was so dumb. I just finished S03E09 and Rick kicked their group out after having a vision of Lori. He had just been persuaded by Herschel to let them stay, then he had a vision of Lori up on the upper level of the prison block. He was yelling at apparition Lori, clearly looking upward and not at Sasha's group, and after yelling "why are you here! Get out!" at Lori's ghost, everyone just agreed that Sasha's group should leave immediately. And that's why the end up leaving??? Not "just go into the next room for a hot minute while our leader gets out of this insane episode"? I get it happened for the plot, but it just doesn't make sense realistically.

edit: typo in the title... autocorrect changed Rick to Ricking lol

Andrea...

I know she's a controversial character. I am on a third rewatch, posting this halfway through S03E05. This is when she and Michonne are still at Woodbury. Michonne broke into the Governor's office and stole her sword, then found where they stored walkers and killed like 6 of 'em. Andrea confronts Michonne about her behavior, after the Governor told her about what happened.

I just can't believe that Andrea would write off Michonne's suspicions after like 1.5 days there. She definitely got sold the kool-aid. When she confronted Michonne, she wouldn't even entertain Michonne's concerns, she responded by talking down to her and acting like her concerns were crazy. That's the part that is currently infuriating me - you survive for 8 months out in the wild based off of this person's instincts (lets be real, Andrea survived because she was with Michonne). Andrea got drunk off the Governor's charm in less than 48 hours? It's just so stupid, maybe it's attributed to bad writing, but I get why people don't like Andrea.

I've heard that Andrea was supposed to be on the show much longer, and be a better character. She was supposed to save the group from the Governor. I would've loved to see them give Andrea a better story arc.

What are your thoughts?

I never understood the Lori hate...

....but now I do. In the season 2 finale, Rick confesses that he killed Shane, saw him turn, and that's why he finally knew that what Dawson told him about everyone being infected was real. And Carl "put him down", meaning Shane. This interaction came right after Rick told the tattered group that everyone was infected, and Glenn + others were emotional that he hadn't told them sooner.

At the start of the conversation with Lori, she seemed compassionate. It seems like once he said he killed Shane because Shane was trying to kill him to steal Lori and Carl, or it could have been the info about Carl killing walker-Shane, Lori flipped her shit and pushed Rick away hard-core. Lori had basically told Rick to kill Shane 2 episodes earlier! She said "You killed a man to protect what's yours. Shane thinks we are his, are you going to protect what's yours?"

This is the only real beef I have with Lori.

Herschel's Farm

I've always wondered, why did the group not regroup and take a few days, then go back to the farm? That was the home they knew, and the walkers would've presumably passed along.

Some of the potential reasons that come to mind are:

- the destruction that took place (barn burned down, some fences came down)

- they realized it was not well fortified to withstand an event like that invasion again

- sadness related to the events (?)

I don't think these are super valid though, since they could have just as well built up bigger fences around the farm. IMO the prison is a much better fortified home, but still just curious as to the logic to just abandon the farm completely.

Thoughts?

Dale was never going to make it

I stumbled upon S2E10 on tv today and decided to finish out the season (it's a great time in the show!).

I'm on S2E11 now and Dale is pleading with the group to not execute the kid from the bad guy group, from the bar where Herschel was drinking and those guys came in, where Rick killed his first people. His whole argument was that they would lose their civilization, their humanity, and succumb to a "survival of the fittest" lifestyle. Knowing what we know about what becomes of their world, he would have mentally broke. If he couldn't handle eliminating one person to prevent a malicious group from finding your camp and murdering/raping everyone, he was just never gonna make it! Loved him as a person, but this made me realize it was his time to go or else he'd suffer much more.

Also, those eyebrows... They are crazy! I wish he'd trim them.

edit: although, it might have been cool to see his character evolve into like some total badass. In the prior episode, that's when Herschel had his come to jesus moment and accepted the new state of the world. It could've happened for Dale, too.

Illusen's Glade - OMG!

I just completed all 50 rounds of Illusen's Glade! Not only is it difficult to buy some of the items, but I probably spent like 23m total this run through. That is INSANE to me! This was like my 6th attempt at either Illusen/Jhudora, and I usually tapped out in the late 30s either due to something costing like 50m or it not being readily available.

Idk what happened this time, but I only had like 4 items that were over 1m, two of which were like 9m and 8m, the others were 2m and 4m, but everything was available!

I still can't believe it, I got so lucky!

I'm having an issue with my (31M) dog (8F) who has suddenly decided it's okay to bark at strangers and beg for more treats. Is it okay to end things?

So I've had my dog, Nyah (8f) since she was 7 weeks olds. She has been my entire life basically, wth the exception of a 3 year relationship that ruined me, but she was still there. She's always had a full life, and she still does! Lots of dog park visits, treats, etc. I moved in with my dad a few months ago, and he lives on a couple of acres of property in the woods. My dad also has two dogs himself, both terrier mixes who are quite rambunctious and adventurous.

Ever since moving in, I've replaced the dog park visits and day care visits with her time playing in the huge yard and lake with her "country cousins". Everything has gone well, all except that her country freaking cousins have taught her to bark at LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

My girl never barked before. Her first seven years were in apartments in sities (Tampa, Los Angeles). She never ever barked. Her country cousins on the other hand... they will bark at a leaf falling. God forbid someone comes with an amazon package. It's immediate ear-blistering barking from a herd of dogs at the first sign of a noise outside of peaceful meditation.

I strongly believe once I get my own place again that my girl will lose this habit, as she is never the first to bark but always follows fucking dexter who barks at literally a pen drop.

Ugh, anyways, that's is. Vent over.

I just finished my third straight binge rewatch of the Jack Ryan series (+ movie)

As the title states, I just finished my third straight back-to-back-to-back rewatch of the four seasons of the CIA thriller show Jack Ryan, plus the movie that was released this year, in a binge format. I am in a long-term house-sitting situation, so that's why I've had the time. It has probably been about 2 weeks since I started the first watch.

I have never rewatched a show immediately after finishing it before. The second rewatch was quite the anomaly. I decided to do it because I just thought the story, characters and plotline was just so good I'd love to watch it again. And I clearly loved it the second time since I just finished my third rewatch.

Should I go for the hattrick + 1?

edit: I've officially had an evangelical reach out to me because I clearly need jesus due to my binge-watching depression. praise be the lord, can i get an amen?

edit 2: I called it quits after 3, guys. Moved on to The Agency. Michael Fassbender + CIA was an easy sell.

Ade Osoji might be the most aggravating character in the entire universe

Title basically says it all. He is so full of himself, and a bad guy. Even as he's being arrested he is telling Wright "there are other people like me out there, but they don't care about you." and "C'mon, you're smarter than this" in such a condescending and misogynistic tone.

The New Rainbow Pool is Incredible!

The old one was so clunky and took forever if you wanted to browse through all of a pet's colors. This new one is so amazing! It takes a fraction of the time to review an entire pet's color line.
