The Sons Of Horus are a Loyalist Legion/Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes.

The 16th Legion to be founded during the unification wars their original name wasthe Luna Wolves which they had procured during the battle of Luna.

For the early yet small part of the legion's history.They lacked any discernible cultural traits.

It was only until that Primarch. Horus Lupercal was found the legion suddenly gain its unique sense of self with many of the new aspirants for the legion hailing from the ganger world of Cthonia.

As the Great Crusade went on and as more Primarchs were discovered one thing had became increasingly obvious.

The Luna Wolves were the greatest legion to ever live.

Then, came the greatest trial at the battle of Ullanor. There the biggest Ork Wagghh in human history had been recorded.

Horus Lupercal personally through a war boss out of a window.

And after the battle had ended and the orks firmly crushed.

Horus Lupercal was given the rank and title of War Master of the Imperium. To lead its great armies and the emperor's.

But not all things, whereas they were for his brother, Leman Russ had lost the council of Nikea to his hated brother.

When Leman had gathered his fellow Primarch Brothers.

And with artifacts, he had discovered on the world of Davin and many others he swayed his brothers to Heresy. But not all of his brothers agreed to heresy. The fighting was the truest definition of hell.

And ultimately the War Master, Horus Lupercal. Found himself impaled on Lion El Johnson's Chainsword, Wolf Blade. Before Lion had one of his hearts punched out by the Night Haunter.

Ultimately the loyalists retreated. Many to Terra. Many to their home worlds. Many and mainly to Ultramar. Which looks rather dashing this time of year.

But the traitors had suffered irreparable and irreplaceable losses.

Leman was furious. And he began preparations for the Siege of Terra.

Unfortunately for him, the cradle of humanity was guarded by

Ultimately the loyalists won the heresy. But the emperor would be interred on the golden throne after absorbing so much warp energy. If he had not... he would have been able to destroy the physical realm.

After the Heresy the Sons Of Horus split themselves into a three chapters.
