FedEx SmartPost - Is this package lost?

This had a delivery date 8/12/26. The date has passed, and now it says that delivery details will be updated soon. I have had things delivered through SmartPost before, and there are several scans after the first one. In addition, the delivery date was accurate. I called FedEx, and they told me to call the sender. Should I presume that this package is lost?
