Mine is the title track of ‘Dangerous’. Just a pretty bland beat and breathy, spoken vocals that do nothing for me. Almost sounds like a throwaway, I was always so surprised it was the title track and album closer on an otherwise, classic album.

Mine is ‘Canada Dry’ by a band in Virginia called Simplest Form.

Deeply melancholic piano line that eventually explodes into percussion and a beautiful choir, and resolves with a delicate and sad piano flourish.

There’s just something longing and bittersweet about the track. A man reminiscing about his ended romance through the lens of a late night drive and a shared soft drink.

You guys got any recs that are truly excellent by musicians that are under the radar?

I always thought police decoys were hanging out in chat rooms just waiting for predators to knowingly perv on an underage child. The man would lead the discussion, bring up sex, send vulgar images texts and make a plan to meet. At least that’s how Chris Hansen made it seem. This is absolutely not the case.

I just watched a John Oliver special and these departments get tons of federal funding, bonuses and overtime for these arrests. And because of that the police will now do anything to get a suspect over the finish line. The undercovers pose as adults in adult hookup apps and then switch the age to a minor once they have the suspect hooked. The cops send nude images (sometimes of children), they lead discussion and bring up sexual topics, they introduce the idea of meeting and make arrangements, and they pressure the suspect if he doesn’t want to come.

They run these stings and give them corny branding like ‘Operation P*do Bowl’ if it’s close to a superbowl or some shit and then they plaster it all over the news like they just ended human trafficking. Meanwhile all the man hours are spent pretending to be fake teens while real child sexual assaults go uninvestigated. But hey, at least the sheriff’s office seized a new Charger and got 30k in overtime. Literal entrapment for profit.
