First time attempting to change my oil

I have a 1988 ford ranger and yesterday I tried to change my oil for the first time since the last time a mechanic had it they put conventional in and I want my synthetic back. I know I’m weak but no matter what I tried I couldn’t get my drain plug out, and yes the ratchet was set to left. There also wasn’t enough room under the truck to use my breaker bar, and I can’t afford ramps. Does someone have a miracle tip/trick or am I out of luck?

Increase in biologic

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis several years ago and got put on Humira. Jump ahead to now and I’m having some mixed emotions.

I thought perhaps stupidly that the Humira would stop any damage from happening, but I got a bunch of X-rays to find that damage has indeed started to show. Now the damage could be from a different kind of arthritis but in the moment it all feels like the same thing. Part of me is like why am I on this if it doesn’t stop the damage and another part of me is wondering how bad I would have been without it.

Now to try to help the pain my doctor has increased the Humira to once a week, and for some reason my brain is having a hard time wrapping around a shot every week. I know it’s only a matter of time before I get use to it like I did every other week, but right now it’s feels almost overwhelming.

1988 Ford Ranger 2.0L no start

The other day I went to start my truck and only got a single click, I checked my battery first and it was good. Took my starter off and took it to be tested it was bad so replaced it. Tried to start it again same single click, replaced my started solenoid/relay and tried again, same result. Was told to check my connections so started wiggling wires and when I wiggled the positive cable between the battery and solenoid the truck tried to turn over. Anyone have a clue what the heck is going on?

Spider plants

This morning I noticed all the roots on the spider plant on the very right turned brown and mushy. I took off all the I could which didn’t leave it with much. Will it grow new roots or just die? Every one keeps telling me to put it in soil, but I kill almost everything in soil so I’m trying to keep them in water.

Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia no insurance options?

I can't take beta or calcium blockers as I run on the low side for blood pressure and they drop it to low. I use to take Ivabradine and had really good luck with it but can't afford it right now. Are there any other options I can talk to my doctor about that might help?

Pain scale ugh…

I have a doctors appt tomorrow and I know they are going to ask me to number my pain. I hate this question, normally I answer 5 because I’m in more than a “normal” person but I’m still able to get by. But I’m in a complete flare right now and want to say a 7 or 8 but I feel like I’m down grading how bad I really feel, but I don’t want to say 9.

1988 Ford Ranger transmission fluid?

I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 2.0L and am trying to figure out how to change the transmission fluid on my own for the first time, better late than never I guess. Anyways I’ve been going in person to the part stores and I’ve found each place gives me a different type of fluid to use. My owners manual does show there to be 2 different types of 5 speed transmissions. My visor shows I have the overdrive one, while my door sticker shows the other one. I’ve been told you can look under near to know for sure but don’t have a clue what ild be looking for.

Spider plant in soil help

I’m growing spider plants some in water and a bigger one in soil. The water ones are doing good, even surprised me with the start of a pup. The one in soil not so well, I’m cutting off dead leaves every couple of days. They are both in my window, gets around the amount of light, same hours, they get the same bottled water. I use alittle stick to make sure the soil is super dry before bottom watering it. I have never been good with plants in soil so I can’t say I’m surprised, but is there anyway to figure out what I’m doing wrong? Can I rinse the dirt off and put it in water as well?

Lack of heat tolerance

I have daily chronic migraines, pretty much any day I drive I need 2 days to get the migraine back to its base level. However, this morning it wasn't over hot over (below 80F) and I made to trip to Walgreens and CVS.

Its about a 5 min drive to Walgreens and I went in to get several different things, and then drove acrossed the road to hit up CVS and while I was waiting at pick up I felt like I had sweat pouring down my face like I was in the shower and my head started POUNDING.

I took my migraine meds before I left before I know something like this was going to happen, but I didn't expect this bad. I got an electrolyte drink as soon as I got home but its still pounding.

My friend makes fun of my because it seems I have no heat tolerance anymore. I don't know if this is something migraines can cause if it its from another issue I have, anyways does anyone have any different they do for migraines this bad, from heat and sweat?

Toilet seat screw coming loose

I picked up a new toilet seat and one side it keeps coming loose. Is it because it’s cheap plastic screws or is something else going on?

Should I put anything on this?

Got a used deep freezer and this started happening, it didn’t come with a warranty so kind of stuck with it. I do use it as counter space since I’m in a very small place.

Alternator good or bad?

My old alternator finally gave out and I got a new one only to find it was bad as well, so I’m now getting ready to put in my new new one and I was wondering if there was any way to know if it’s good or bad before putting it in. Normally ild just put it in and find out but they removed the plugs and I now I have to wire it in and I’m almost out of wire before it’s to short for another try.

How bad? unique scales

Does anyone have some unique ways of referring to how bad your migraine is?

If my meds help keep the pain under control but I’m still having problems, it’s not happy. When the meds aren’t really cutting it but I can still function, it’s upset. When I’m down for the count it’s being nasty. I still feel like I need another level in there somewhere but haven’t thought it up yet.

(IBS/Crohn's) Slow Cooker Meat?

I've been trying to think about what might of started this flare, and recently I switched from pan frying my chicken to using the slow cooker. In the past I gave up pork roasts because cooking them in the slow cooker made me feel bad, and I'm wondering now if its the same for chicken. Though I don't understand why. Only thing I can think of, is it cooking in its own fat.

Allergic to housemate? Rant?

I have a rather embarrassing situation that I guess I want to rant about. For awhile I’ve been getting a really nasty sore throat so bad I could barely swallow my own spit. Nothing I did seem to help, warm drinks, salt water gargles, sore throat candy/sprays.

Anyways the other day I was sitting downstairs cooking, when my housemate came down to get ready to leave for work. I was around him for around him for less then 30 mins when the sore throat hit. The next day the same thing happened, except since my throat was already sore it got much worse.

After that I started wearing a mask, just the light ones, and I stopped getting a sore throat. Then the other day he went from his room to the bathroom (right next to my room) and back, I walked in the hallway right after that and sore throat? How can that happen that I just walk in the same space for less than a min and boom?!

I’m going to be seeing my doctor tomorrow, but if I am allergic to him I don’t know what can be done. I’m already on 3 allergy meds and asthma controller. And moving out isn’t possible. Don’t want to get into all the reasons.

Now here is the embarrassing part, he does not shower/bath at all, ever… and he smokes. We had to increase my asthma meds in the past from the second/third hand smoke. But I hate the idea of always being on edge with a mask in my pocket if I’m around him.
