My DM had a faulty dice tower. I offered to fix it and give it the paint job it deserved.

I'm not a pro and it has a ton of imperfect spots, but I really like how it came out.

I'm sure you can find this somewhere online to 3d print if you want. But I will warn you that the large spot south west, as well as the opening next to it counter clockwise (where the mini with the hammer stands) throw out dice which inevitably land on the floor. It was driving everyone at the table mad, so I wanted to fix it!

I had lots of ideas, but I thought turning it into a small diorama of a party facing a beholder would be wicked cool. We have one guy clutching his bleeding sides, a spell caster petrified by the beholder's eye ray. Another just being downed by its death ray, while the last one stands defiantly for one last battle.

I managed to install scrivener on mint through lutris, but I am having issues importing my old files

For the record, I'm a total idiot when it comes to software. I have scrivener now on my garbage(windows) free laptop but I cant figure out how to get my old files. I installed it through lutris, which I am now realising is some sort of virtual machine. When I open scrivener it doesn't read from my linux folders, at least not directly, and I can't navigate towards the files for my projects.

Can anyone help me out?

Any suggestions for a detective style ttrpg for people who aren't interested in mechanics?

My wife and I play dnd, her sister played with us once and wants to play again. We have a campaign in the works but for reasons, it's gonna take a bit. I was really surprised, however, when she mentioned on a rainy, boring evening, that we should play a dnd murder mystery or a campy horror ish one shot. I would love to provide one in the future, but I know dnd isn't good for this, or rather, that there has to be a system out there that is way better.

Now I know that both my wife and her sister would prefer the kind of gameplay where you don't have to memorise spells, or know what cover is and so on. I personally only played a few PbtA variants and dnd, so I come here looking for suggestions. Something that has a "case" or "cases" ready to go out of the box, but making my own isn't out of the question. Bonus points if we don't need a GM to run the game for us, but then again I'm not too sure how that would play out.

Please let me know if you know of a system that would be good for us!

Something has gone seriously wrong

I tried switching to mint (latest cinnamon) today. My lenovo windows 11 laptop now will only go into boot mode, and upon choosing the usb with the iso, the posted picture appears.

Here's what happened: used rufus to create a boot drive of mint. I was able to hop into it through the boot menu, and begin with the installation. Eventually, it got to the point of retrieving of retrieving files, becoming stuck on 152/167 or something like that. Expanding the window below, showing the process, it seemed like it was trying to download something. I was connected to the internet. After an hour, it still wouldn't budge. I checked this sub as well as online for similar issues, and i spotted a comment saying the internet should be disabled before installing. So I disabled the wifi, tried finding a cancel button and here is where I probably fucked up; I didn't find it so I just turned the computer off. After turning it on again, the problem appeared.

Obviously I have done something massively stupid. I do wonder if I would be able to boot from (a different) usb again, provided I turn it into a bootable usb first? Unfortunately, I won't have access to another computer for a few days, so I'm also wondering if I would be able to do anything else in this situation? Or have I just bricked the laptop completely?

I appreciate any advice or words of wisdom (or admonishment)!

Looking for mid tier dice, no dropshipping

Hiya, im looking to add some new sets to my collection (let's face it, I always am) and I just wanted to know if anyone can recommend any vendors or places where I can find sets from creators that pour their dice in house. I realize that some of these can fetch enormous prices, but I am really looking to spend 20-30euros on a set, maximum. European vendors preferred, obviously.

Thank you for any suggestions!

I want to bring a sake bottle back home from osaka, but i only have a carry on

I'm backpacking through Japan. One of my friends asked me if I can bring a bottle of sake. I was thinking of getting it at duty free, but the issue is that I have two flights: same company but I might have to get through security twice. I assume since it would be bought at duty free after the first security check, it should be alright. But I've never bought anything from there, and I'm not sure how it would work.

Any advice is appreciated!

What is the current state of the market?

Hey all, I want to get back into gaming after a several year hiatus. Mainly I want to run games, and run them well, as well as use the machine for some 3d modeling. Since it has been a while, I was just wondering which brands are favoured now? From mobos to gpus and beyond, what is considered good value, is there anything that is problematic, etc?

It's a vague question, I know, but I want to do my own research into what to build, since last time that worked very well for me. But, having been absent from the scene for a good while, I would very much appreciate any insight into what the pc building market is like atm.

Cheers!

Questions about Kansai pass/advice

I'm using osaka as a base and want to do Nara, two kyoto day trips and himeji castle. The train passes seem a bit confusing, and I'd rather if someone could help me out, than to brute force it myself and potentially get something wrong.

So, i will be doing nara one day, then a rest day, then the others on three consecutive days. Which pass would be best for me in this case? As far as I understand it, the kansai pass would also allow me to use Osaka's metro, correct? Does it pay off to get a different pass, then? Or just to pay as I go (in osaka)?

Also, are google maps reliable for planning my movements? Like the timetables and routes, how difficult is it to navigate?

This is my first time in asia where I can't read the language, so I am a bit worried, haha.

Going on an Introductory dive - feeling nervous

Hello friends. Diving was one of those things I always thought I would love. But, some years ago, I went diving with a friend. It was in the Mediterranean, he's experienced and my wife, also experienced and certified, was with us. We chatted about diving and I read about it and am a pretty adventurous person, so I thought I was ready.

But in all honesty, it was quite overwhelming. Not being able to communicate easily, with water all around you, was just a bit much. I love swimming and snorkling and the ocean, so I didn't take it seriously enough. My wife also assured me I would love it, and she knows me better than anyone, and we didn't go very deep. Now, since i am doing it on the great barrier reef this time, I'm hoping it will distract my mind enough. To be honest, the place we dived at the first time was gloomy at best. I think I'm also rubber banding a bit, since I was too lax at that time, I'm overly worried.

Anyway, I was just wondering if you have any tips or words of wisdom for me? I know I was being an idiot before, but diving on the gbr has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I want to enjoy the experience.

Need advice/recommendations for a one week itinerary

My wife just surprised me with a surprise solo trip to japan for one week.

I know it might be short and not enough time to experience japan, but our circumstances make it super convenient for me to hop to japan for a week.

Anyway, while I'm scrambling to make an itinerary for myself I was wondering if could ask more experienced travelers for advice. I dont want to spend too much money, so plan on using the public transit, and seeing japan on a bit of a budget with some splurging. am not sure which province should fly to, considering that do need to fly to europe after the week is done.

I would like to go to an onsen, eat some good food (ramen is one of my favourite things), see some shrines/temples/nature, enjoy something quintessentially japanese, something that we foreigners can just stare and marvel at, but I would also maybe like to visit some shops maybe.

I've been eyeing Kyushu prefecture, but would love any help with organising this for myself, as well as any tips and other recommendations. Now excuse me as I go into a deep dive of japanese tourism.

Cheers

Where could one get a pink, #1 boss hat in northern qld

I am a backpacker and I'm leaving the country soon. I want to give my boss a #1 boss hat as a parting gift, but I'm not sure where to get it. Is online my best bet? Or is there a shop I could get it from? My online queries have not been fruitful

Trying to plan an overnight dive tour for two - one certified one not

Hiya folks, my wife and i are trying to organize a diving tour for our short time in Cairns. We're leaning towards rum runner, passions of paradise or coral sea dreaming dive and sail. RR seems very cheap for an overnight tour, but overall I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on what to look out for, any local info on the companies, or other recommendations. We're gonna be swamped with work until we have the two days off, so please excuse me trying to outsource some of the research.

Also if anyone has a recommendation for a dog sitter or kennel that would also be appreciated lol!

Any non wotc adventures or campaigns with full digital maps, stls for minis, and other goodies?

I'm going to be running a game, I'm okay with adventures or full blown campaigns. I want as little prep as possible, no scouring reddit and discords for maps, twerking encounters, or making physical puzzles. But strangely i don't mind and in fact want all the mobs to be 3d printable. Any other goodies like soundtracks, sound effects, etc, are welcome!

Do you know of anything like that? That you could say that it is a quality product?

Does loop have any physical stock in any stores in Australia?

I'm on a business trip with no address, but they would really come in handy. I know it's a long shot and I've been looking around with no luck. Thought might as well ask here.

Noticed this on my collie's belly, just above the penis. Is it a cause for concern?

I haven't seen him licking it, but he does go to town on himself occasionally, so I am not too sure. I'll monitor it for a few days before i go to the vet, but I wanted to ask you good folks here if there is a cause for concern.

V naslednjem mesecu ne bom imel toliko časa za mojega kosmatega prijatelja, pa bi rad najel sprehajalca. Me samo zanima kakšne izkušnje mate z njimi, kje jih najdete, koliko računajo? A to sploh obstaja pri nas?
