Day 6 of getting 10 paying customers in 30 days: the interview went live, and most of today went into the product

Day 6.

Product and content:

- Made the chat widget better, including a fix for the phone keyboard pushing the message box off the screen

- Worked on Turnstile for the landing page's AI agent, after last week's jailbreak attempt

- Rebuilt the blog and published a post on how to guard a public AI agent, the one from the 81k-view thread, with the two extra guardrails commenters suggested

- Added read counts to the blog, so I can see what people actually read

Distribution:

- The 99helpers interview went live, and its author shared it on X

- A newsletter featured AskVerb in its Sunday Picks (2,500+ readers)

- A founder building a lead-finding tool sent me a qualified lead: a field service app with no AI and live paying users, exactly my target. I'll share the tool in this series once he makes it public.

Numbers after Day 6:

- Paying customers: 0

- X DMs: 31 sent, 5 replies

- Cold email: 64 sent, 4 replies, all no. The 15 emails to founders' own addresses got 0 replies.

- LinkedIn: 12 invites, 2 accepted, 0 replies. No new invites since day 2: the search only ran once.

- X followers: 200+

On PumpGTM, since a few of you asked about tools: LinkedIn gave 2 accepts and no replies, and the X auto-DMs sent nothing because nobody who engaged passed my filter. It hasn't earned its price yet. Warm contacts and public posts are doing more than any automation.

Question for you: what's the best source of qualified leads you've found, and did you pay for it?

30 days, one goal: 10 paying customers for my B2B product. Where would you start?

Hey fellow founders,

I just officially launched AskVerb. For the next 30 days I have one goal: 10 paying customers. I'll post what I tried each day, what worked and what flopped, numbers included.

Quick context on what it is. AskVerb is an AI agent you add to your SaaS. Your users tell it what they want, like "move my launch to Tuesday" or "export last month's invoices", and it does it inside your app instead of them digging through menus.

How it works, roughly: you decide which actions the agent may take and describe them once. When a user asks for something, it acts as that exact signed-in user, so it can never do more than they could do themselves. Anything that changes data shows the user what it's about to do and waits for a yes. Every action, pass or fail, is logged.

For you as a founder, the point is that your product gets easier to use without you rebuilding any screens, and users get things done in one sentence.

My customers are basically other founders, so you're exactly who I'm talking to. A few things I'd love advice on:

  • Where would you start finding the first 10 paying customers for a B2B product like this?
  • Is cold outreach to founders worth it, or is it better to be warm and public about the journey?
  • What made you say yes the last time a stranger pitched you a tool?

Any advice is welcome, including "you're going about this wrong."

How do you keep context across projects when the agent's memory is scoped per folder?

I work solo across a lot of repos, and I keep hitting the same wall with Claude Code.

Two separate problems that compound:

Context dies on compaction. Long session, lots of hard-won detail about why something is built the way it is, then it compacts and most of that is gone. The only thing that reliably survives is whatever I wrote to a file mid-session.

Memory is scoped per project folder. Each repo gets its own isolated memory keyed to its path. So conventions I've established, infrastructure notes, how I deploy, people I work with — none of it crosses over. I have 58 tracked project folders and effectively 58 disconnected brains, and I'm re-explaining the same things constantly.

What I've been doing is writing dated session handoff docs into each repo. Those genuinely work, and they're the only reason anything survives. But they're per-repo, they're append-only so they go stale, and nothing searches across them.

I just set up a shared markdown folder on a separate drive, one subfolder per project, with basic-memory (MCP) indexed over it so any agent can search and write to the same graph. The thing I like is the notes are plain markdown, so if the tooling dies the knowledge doesn't.

But I'm suspicious of my own setup, because the obvious failure mode isn't technical:

  1. Does it actually get updated? Every knowledge base I've built before died because writing to it was a separate chore from doing the work. Have you found a way to make the agent write to it as a byproduct rather than something you remember to ask for?
  2. How do you stop it going stale? Facts change. An agent confidently acting on a note that was true in July is worse than it having no note at all. Do you date everything, prune on a schedule, something else?
  3. How do you get the agent to actually read it before it starts work, rather than diving in and re-deriving what's already written down?
  4. One graph or one per project? I went with one shared graph so search spans everything, but I can see the argument that it just adds noise to every unrelated task.

Curious what's working for people, especially anyone who's had a setup like this survive more than a couple of months. Also genuinely interested if the answer is "this is overkill, just write better handoff docs."

I have a confession to make + an Announcement

OK so I was postponing making videos on my own SaaS for marketting I kept coming up with reasons to postpone it day over day that I ended up building the beta version of another completely new SaaS :)
( Just couldn't stop building)
So I've made a dumb decision to make a launch video for the new SaaS in next 24 hours no matter what I'll post it here and I genuinely wanna know how you guys are showing everyday in front of camera?

Every dashboard I use added the same "Ask AI" button this year

I've spent the last year or so building a trading tool. Somewhere in the middle of that I started noticing the same thing everywhere.

AWS has it. GCP has it. Firebase, Supabase, Hostinger, Cloudflare. They've all quietly put an "Ask AI" button in their dashboard.

And it isn't a chatbot that links you to docs. You ask for something and it does it. "Give Priya the same access as Jamie but read only on production." "Add a redirect from /pricing to /plans." It goes and does that, shows you what it's about to change, and you say yes.

Makes sense for them. They've got the engineers.

What I keep thinking about is everyone else. If you run a five person SaaS, your users have already been trained by Supabase and Vercel to expect that button. They're going to go looking for it in your product. And you are not spending two quarters and three engineers building one.

So that's what I've been building. The same thing, for products that can't afford to build it themselves.

I'm not going to pitch it here. Honestly I don't know yet whether it's useful to anyone other than me, which is most of why I'm posting.

I'm looking for 15 to 20 founders with a real SaaS and real users who want to be first. If that's you, DM me and I'll send you the link.

Happy to answer anything below.

Just put out Tradepilot on Trust MRR and realized one crucial thing..

https://preview.redd.it/5jcosr2b7qhh1.png?width=974&format=png&auto=webp&s=7c052163acd76f6252320c4f37e35474f5e3c0ee

OK I've been working on tradepilot for last 5 months and grinding has been the only thing on my mind adding features, fixing bugs, emailing users for feedback, making sure prod works, testing and one of the most difficult things to do MARKETING today as I was submitting my SaaS on Trust MRR I realized I made like $150 so far and that genuinely made me happy and realize as much as the grind is important we should take a step back and be greatful this is like 12th app I've built (if i'm right) and so far the only one which made in 1$+ I would not recommend to be happy and stop trying after you make $1 but when a random stranger buys what you built and gets value that feeling of dopamine hit is what you should be addicted to.
Keep going guys don't stop you never know what's going to happen in coming days
(ignore the MRR my AI tool has a free tier and that's inflating the MRR)

give AI your Site and ask what it thinks about your site and you'll see how your site is positioned to a user in AI citations and apparently I have $240/MRR.... Getting there soon
Everything you do counts It even featured 2 reddit post I did in like last couple of weeks it's crazy how small things can have huge upside that you dono off..

my dashboard says 7.1k projected ARR. but idk what am i doing wrong

https://preview.redd.it/xs0ciy4obbdh1.png?width=1105&format=png&auto=webp&s=d812e25628695442d3e1fd0b05b5dd403b276c1f

Few weeks ago i did something that scared me. i killed my free tier completely. no free usage at all anymore, you have to put in a card and start a 7 day trial to even use the tool which this community helped me figure that but now I have a different problem than people misusing my free tier

it filtered out the tire kickers and now the people signing up actually seem to want the thing. felt like real validation that people will pay for what i built.

then reality showed up.

my payments dashboard says 594 mrr and 7.1k projected ARR, up like 8000% vs last month. looks insane. except most of that is "projected" and projections are basically fiction. what actually happened is i have been paid 99 dollars total. thats it.

the trials arent converting. after 7 days the charge either fails (no balance on the card) or they cancel right before it bills. and the weird part is people keep picking my most expensive plan (like ~1k/yr) and thats the exact one that doesnt renew. huge number on the screen, nothing in the bank.

so i have "validated demand" that hasnt turned into a single real dollar and im not sure if im doing something dumb or if this is just how it goes at this stage.

i also tried emailing my trial users directly to ask whts blocking them. zero replies so far.

stuff im actually stuck on:

  • when a card fails at trial end, what actually recovers it for you? dunning, retries, reminder emails before the charge, asking for the card differently? what worked
  • people picking the top plan then bailing, is that a pricing thing, a value thing or an onboarding thing, and how would you even tell which
  • my direct emails get ignored. what actually got your trial users to reply or convert
  • am i even reading this right. should i just ignore projected ARR entirely and only look at money that's actually been charged

I'm stuck on the boring bit which is turning "yeah id pay" into money that actually lands. if youve been through this exact gap id really appreciate the help.

happy to share what the product is in the comments if it helps.

Indie devs: how are you handling subscriptions without giving Google 15%? (Razorpay in hand)

Hi everyone. I am an indie dev from India launching a paid app with a digital subscription (Pro unlock). I already have a Razorpay account set up.

I want to take payments through Razorpay in a way that is fully compliant with Google Play, so I can avoid the 15 percent cut Google takes on in-app purchases.

My questions for those who have actually shipped this from India:

  1. How do you integrate Razorpay for a mobile app without breaking Play billing policy? What does your actual flow look like?

  2. Do you sell on a website and just have the app read the Pro status, or is there a legit way to show Razorpay inside the app itself?

  3. Has anyone used Google's User Choice Billing or the external offers program in India? Is it worth the effort, and what is the real fee after Google's share?

  4. Any gotchas that got apps flagged or suspended that I should avoid?

Not trying to break any rules, just want a setup that is compliant and does not lose margin to the 15 percent. Any real world experience would help a lot. Thanks.

Goal is to achieve $100k in next 6 months

So long story short I'm a SWE with 9-5 who can get laid off at any moment now and I'm sure most of us can relate to. last year I did over $500 in freelancing (Upwork and referrals) and I'm thinking to go all in on 2 things and one focus $100k+ by 2027

  1. Build an agency
  2. Build apps that make money

I started reaching out for clients again and so far got couple of projects with combined around $1k sounds good but for the goal I have it's kind of bad start so I would like to get some advice on how I can scale and reach my goals form the people who did it. I'm sure I can't do this alone I do have a couple my dev friends who are up for it too. My question is what mistakes should I not be making and where to not spend more energy and money on and how I can land high ticket clients. And if you think I have highly unachievable goals my philosophy is to "Aim for the stars and you'll land on moon for the worst case" and I've seen people who have actually done it, Ff they can why can't I? So I'm all ears to learn form the pros here..

I had to rebuild my SaaS into almost a completely different app and I have zero regrets about it..

Just sharing what I'm doing currently I had steady growth (around 5-10 sign ups every day organically) and I had arguably the best AI tool for what it was supposed to do in the market, it might sound good but there was a huge issue the issue of conversion I had only 1 paid user out of 320+ users most of them just used the free tier and churned and I recently found out a new tool(with 100k+ users) and my whole tool was just a feature in his tool with plenty of other features after thinking about a bit deeply I knew I can make my tool to have same and even better features and provide better value and positioning. I was thinking about it quite hard should I become the master of one or change my complete direction one thing that helped me was a post I saw somewhere on how cursor changed/evolved their product 8 times and every time it must be very hard decision to make for a company but they did it anyways cause they believed in it and as founder we should treat launch not as a one time grand event but a sequence of campaign. So if you are a builder who is in my situation don't hesitate to evolve your product...
