Irresponsible cops
I had police verification for my passport renewal and I went yesterday to the P.S. It was almost afternoon when I had reached and luckily the officer was present and he was dealing with another person's verification. Next,my turn. He wasn't in his uniform, however I saw only 2 people who wore uniforms in that station. He asked a few personal questions about me, and told that he messaged me on whatsapp regarding the verifcation.(He neither messaged nor mailed me. I am not that dumb to not notice a Whatsapp message. I had called the P.S the previous day if i should go) and was typing in kannada on MS word. He said he wants to visit my house and asked me to wait outside, I agreed. A different guy came out and asked me to hop onto his bike(not in the uniform obv). he had his helmet, I asked for mine. He blabbered sm shit and removed HIS helmet ('naan hakilla andre yenu problem illa bidu') like wtf. he came till my house and noted the coordinates and some neighbour's ph. nos. On the way, he was scolding some people who were riding, as if they were riding wrong. Later, near the station, he asked me if I gave some money to the writer.('yenadru kottra writer ge?').I said no, wasn't he the police? but he asked me to get passport size photos which i had forgotten to bring, he told me to bring and talk to the writer.
I brought the photos, and gave it to him. I asked, is the process done, he asked for bribe.('yeshto ashtu kodi'). I asked him if I should make a video of him(I regret I couldn't). He went quiet.The crazy thing i saw in the station is 'WE RESPECT THOSE WHO RESPECT LAW'. I told them to remove the quote and walked out.
I am now confident that India will NEVER be corrupt-free, the system is so rigged because of such idiots. I have mailed to the higher authorities (but i fear they are more corrupted). HAPPY INDEPENDENCE!
