What do Crystal Castles fans listen to?

Heres my recently stickered laptop with (almost) all of my favourite bands. Thats what i listen, as a big fan of CC. Just curious, what other Crystal Castles fans listen to? Their music is pretty indietronic like Kitsune, but still, theyre really distinctive and i dont know any similar sounding vibe bands to them

Anyone else considers Worlds best Porter album and Adventure best Madeon album and other albums not even close? Sorry, but having Lemaitre and Urban Cone on one album or having Passion Pit and TDCC in one song is the peak of music.

Personal opinion

DAE treat crystal castles music as something upbeat, quirky, happy(!), euphoric and lively rather than doomy, dark, witch, mystic and sad?

Ethan released his music under crystal castles' pseudonym on Kitsune, such as Divebomb (energetic and happy song) Crystal Castles remix (which is as energetic and as happy) and Knights with some baby sounds over europop beat. Then Came Alice and debut Castles album which got Crimewave with roll over pretty damn energetic HEALTH, Untrust Us with sample of early Death From Above 1979, youve got the same but better punchy Knights, youve got pretty relaxed Magic Spells, and then theres Air War and Good Time with Reckless which just can't click on me being something dark, that tiktok portrays. Then came the second album with Baptism, an 8 bit - distorted - upbeat song, Suffocation, pretty dark title but its just a electroclash 8 bit something thatd fit on Maison Compilation with euphoric vocals. Not In Love feat. Robert Smith - thats a pretty good EDM track, innit? And then came the 3rd album with transgender literal clear eurodance beat and so on and you've got the last album with char and kept which is pretty happy edm too but a little euphoric nothing really doom punk or something

Am i overreacting for making a tragedy of our 15-year old cat's death?

So, his life started at my mom's sister family, but not really long after they decided to adopt a dog. When i was always coming to their house, i seen Shanya (the name of a cat) in the corner, hissing at the dog. So i was begging my grandparents to take them to their home. After years of begging they finally accepted this.. i was like 5 years old and he was 2 years old iirc, so he lived a long great life after....... we cared about him, he had toys, he had food.. in his late years we moved him to summer house in summer, where we are staying every summer and leaving back to house for 2 days, so right now as usual we left him for 2 days but before it grandparents noticed that he was in a fight with other cat and left him unnatended. he had no scras btw, and by the way they didn't even tell this to anybody. and when we arrived he was right at the doorstep of the house. laying, little breathing, then me being in shock took him to the grass.. where he lied and stopped breathing. So i was in total shock, i started crying like a kid. My grandma said: so what? Died and died. Every thing in world has a lifespan. and sometimes it comes to an end. grandpa even said, "why would you cry over this ? i shouldn't even really be saddened, you gave it to me, dont care, etc.. and grandma even added when we were at village and young, we had so many cats that died, our neighbours even drowned little cats cause they couldnt take care of it." "you'd rather cry about persons death", "comparing animals to humans is not normal, this is very weird comparison" then i replied "then, if you talk like that to a death of shanya, why should i cry about death of yours? Shouldnt it be such a trifle? If you dont understand my sadness about death, should i jump from happiness when seeing death?" made grandma tear with these words.... shanya died in convulsions, right at my eyes, meowing. "this too shall pass". I don't know, im saddened, am i an asshole and overreactibg for this? And when we buried him, grandma FOR SOME REASON CRIED about it?? after everything she said, why would she care about"some cat"???? idk what to do now

What do you play your cds on?

I have yet to hear a streaming site that sounds as good as a CD, so I’m curious what device you use to get the best sound out of for your CDs.

Does "favourite" mean "best"? Translating: i enjoy OK Go debut album more than Abbey Road, in fact OK Go is my fave album and Abbey Road isn't. Does it mean that OK Go 2002 debut is better than Abbey Road for me?

Also heard that "all music is subjective". Cant deny its musical power, context and history but.. it hasnt got that quirky 00s indie power rock because its from 60s. Like, without abbey road there wouldn't be synthpop, and ok go themselves but.. i enjoy them more?

DAE think that Kitsune Maison is the best indie thing that ever happened to music? I own many CDs of them, i listen to maison comps daily. But i still find new 10/10 artists from them. Read description

This is the 10th compilation. Every single of 25 tracks is 10/10. This is in fact, insane. They released 18 compilations. Up until the 14th compilation every single was like a 10. They found out crystal castles before alice was in it, they found simian mobile disco before anything. They released first hot chip record - found wonder group before anyone else. The founders were close friends to daft punk before the daft punk themselves. One of my favourite bands, Two Door Cinema Club was found by them. They were in close contact with Franz Ferdinand before they even started a band. They found grammy winning La Roux before she was anything, debuted there. Found out digitalism in 2005 and pitched them to DP to play support tour on Alive 2007. Boys Noise debuted there too, his first track is on second kitsune comp. They found out MADEON before POP CULTURE and they DIDNT EVEN RELEASE the single just put them in deluxe ed. To some comp like finding out him was a SIDE QUEST. Etienne de Crecy, Les Gordon, Møme, Strange Talk, Flight Facilities, Myd, Yuksek, Midnight Juggernauts, Klaxons, Yelle, Crystal Fighters, Icona Pop (Charli XCX) , Passion Pit (remix before the release of debut!), The Twelves, found out BOTH Empire of the Sun before them making a band so on, and a lot of one offs.

They signed a whole generation of brilliant, in fact best artists ever, extracted the best twice a year and put into Kitsune Maison Compilation. This is why i consider them best.

In fact, new artists like Porter Robinson, Madeon (--mentioned there already), Ninajirachi, Underscores, Frost Children, Slayyter, Charli XCX on 'brat', Mgna Crrrta and another modern Sleazepop / hyperpop artists - all of them HEAVILY were inspired by Kitsune. Yes, Kitsune helped form 'brat' and almost nobody knows about them?!??!?

Picked up a few CDs today

Biggest collection I’ve ever bought. Roughly 15,000 CDs. Loaded and unloaded during an extreme heat warning, so I’m too tired to start looking through them. Less than 10 cents each even with $200 truck rental.

Get the vinyl barometer NOW!

So why do you need it? Let me talk. You wanna know why your records that have been delivered from China doesn't sound as good as the japanese ones? First of all you need to find out where you live, because depending on where you are on the globe, atmospheric pressure and gravitational acceleration (g) actually change. Because of this, records pressed in the US (closer to the equator) need to be played on a recalibrated turntable, since the Earth's gravitational field is different over there. With Europe, China, or, say, the Agartha, it's a different story: they're our brethren, so the gravity is identical. I recommend picking up a barometer to double-check - look up 'vinyl barometer' on Temu. It's literally just a couple of hundred thousand dollars, and your sound will be absolute perfection.

My hot take: Beatles "1" is a better intro for people who never listened to Beatles than 1962-70 (Red and blue albums)

Well... Youre just getting into the band, you dont know any song but probably heard some melodies. Speaking on my own experience, i started listening to the gifted (by my friend.. he didnt know i had never listened to the Beatles) 1962-1970 2023 Remasters like year or two ago and i was yawning when i first listened to it. Sold it not long after. Then bought "1" - and thats where i got into the beatles, i loved every track. The point i wanna make, when you try to introduce something, you need to be extremely short n sweet, and if not, then itll be a boring experience. But if you liked "1" then you might go for red and blue, and then go for albums. Thats how it happened to me! As of now, i listened to every single beatles album and decent chunk of Paul music online now - i ordered every single past-1966 album of fab four, the 2009 remasters. Thats how recently i became a new beatle-maniac, lol! What do you think about my take?
