License Plate Detection Help. Anyone out there able to decipher the plate here??

Viofo A119 Mini Pro. The Silver 2010-2013 Mazda 3 with the roof rack clipped my wife. The video caught the impact clearly, other driver pulled over, however due to safety reasons, she did not get out on the freeway to exchange info. Young children in the car, and its hard to tell but the shoulder lane becomes narrow and lots of aggressive traffic/known accidents in this particular freeway interchange. My wife exited first available exit and pulled over into the first available parking lot and the other driver did not follow. I went frame by frame on VLC media player and the best I got was "8ZLY?38". I can PM someone the raw file if they have advanced software. ChatGBT couldn't get help. Tips welcome on how to navigate this with insurance? Claim already filed.

Ready for you GUS 15!

Not my first sub box but my first carpet job. Cant wait to run the Resonix Gus 15. Current setup is 1 Dayton Ultimax II in a sealed box. The new box is roughly 2.0 ft3 with about 1,100 watts.

GILAPPLE Speakers by Jun Takahashi

Anyone out there have a set of these? They're going on eBay right now for a grand and I really want them, but I cannot find specs anywhere. Looks like a passive radiator or down firing mid bass driver on the bottom. I'm really hoping they are passive, even though the box says "Twin Bluetooth Speaker". Would love to know the specs, regardless.

The "Gilapple"—a portmanteau of GILA and Apple—refers to the fruit that grows on trees in this narrative; upon falling to the ground, it transforms into the "Grace" species.

Benefits of a front subwoofer? Contradicting information with home audio

I've been into car audio since 2004 (first system was a 15" kicker comp in a ford escort lol) and I feel like I'm just starting to see people install front subs, but it's probably been happening for a while. I'm all for it, however, it's confusing how it works.

I was always under the impression having two different sizes of subwoofers isn't recommended. Like in home theater, you wouldn't have a big ol ported 15" subwoofer, then a sealed 10" next to the listening couch.

Why is it acceptable in car audio? And tunning is required, right?

For those who work in the industry, are folks only doing 1 front sub? Or are they typically used with a sub or subs in the rear?

Powering the Resonix GUS15 with 1,000 watts and Enclosure Size

Hi, I ordered the Resonix GUS15 and I'd like to start building the enclosure. Might be jumping the gun a little. You think the listed specs for the size will change during production?

I have a 1,000 rms at 1 ohm amp, and would like to get the lowest frequency response possible, can you recommend internal volume for the enclosure? My oem system really lucks authority in the sub bass, especially 25-30hz. I currently run a 10" Dayton ultimax II in a 0.8 ft3, and there is a solid response from 35-50hz with the Ultimax II.

I'm not super experienced with enclosure measurements but I understand its crucial to get that part right, and based on researching online, and the product listing recommend specs, and based on using 1,000 watts rms which is a little underpowered, I'm thinking that 2.0 - 2.3 ft3 after sub displacement and internal bracing would be ideal. Thoughts on that?

The box will be a wedged shape, angled back roughly 34" wide, 17" high, top depth of 6" and bottom depth of 15" sub is rear firing. there's lots of wiggle room with width, but i don't want the box too high. I cant build into the floor, i wish i could.

Does Anyone Want this Preamp? (Not selling, a donation)

EDIT: someone already messaged me and claimed it. If they don't follow through with covering shipping costs, then I will come back to the post.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Found in CA at my kids school. In the parking lot, they have a donation bin and this was chilling outside the bin.

Did some researching and it appears to have been a quality preamp at the time.

If you’re interested dm me. I’m in ca, us.

Haven’t plugged it in yet. Will test at home next to a fire extinguisher 😂.

Svs Micro 3000 Revolution embarrassed my 2 10” Daytons Ultimax ii.

The photo is deceiving the Daytons box is too small but not that small, 1.8ft3 around what PE recommended. Also the Svs is also really tiny, about a 10” cube for dual 9” drivers. There’s a 120v 16A plug in the back of my all electric Genesis. You can drive around with 120v things plugged in without any issue. Sad to say the Svs embarrassed the Daytons. Like night day difference, in spl range and the Svs digs a lot deeper, and plays faster and more accurately. The Daytons are running off a 1,100 watt zapco amp with a kicker keyloc. It’s fun to see what a HT sub can do in car audio application. The outlet is switched so the sub shuts off when the car is shut off.

The gain can be control by the Svs app, however I don’t like that. I guess one could run a passive rca knob.

Won’t be permanent but it’s fun to see what’s out there.

I’m sure I’ll get hate for this post but after some consultation with audio engineers, they said the Svs shouldn’t be pulling more than 5-6amps under heavy usage and maxed out will be around 12a. They also said it’s probably safer too do than my current setup, where I have the amp connected directly to the 12v accessory battery.

As far has draining the bigger battery more, I’ve run it for a week and haven’t noticed any difference.

110v Subwoofer System in an EV with a 110v 16amp plug

I have a 2024 Genesis GV70 electrified that came with 110v plug in the back that according to the manual, is 16A. I'd like to add an after market sub, and I'm wondering if someone had any unconventional ideas of how to achieve this. Could I technically tap the OEM speaker wires to a Kicker Keyloc, and run a RCA to a 110v powered home theater sub? Would that be ridiculous?!

Apparently, people have used this vehicle to power refrigerators and water heaters when their power went out:

"Gv70 Electrified V2L saved the day(s)

I lost home power for 4 days due to Hurricane Helene. We have a 2024MY GV70 EV that has a charge port adapter and a rear outlet that output 110V. They kept my refrigerator, water heater and various appliances running throughout. We used about 8% charge per day and could have used much less if we rationed more. Wanted to share with the community that it’s a super useful feature for that hasn’t been widely communicated. I hadn’t seen it promoted at all and the dealer certainly didn’t tell me about it."

How many amps does this iccu produce? Hyundai 36401-1XDA0-A

I have a 2024 Genesis GV 70 all electric and I’d like to know how many amps the ICCU will provide. And also how many amps Is the system capable of pulling when say you’re blasting in the stereo, running the AC, you have lights on, you have USB devices plugged in etc. Any reliable way to measure this? The reason I’m asking is because I’d like to add an aftermarket amplifier for a subwoofer and I want to know how many watts I can add without putting strain or potentially damaging the ICCU. No one seems to have this information, including Crutchfield and various high-end audio shops. I know sound systems are installed in Tesla’s without issue but the Hyundai ICCU shared with the Genesis EV’s and Kia already have its own issues so I want to see if adding a subwoofer amplifier is even an option?? TIA

Time Delay with Dayton BST-300EX Bass Shakers on 2 Separate Systems

I have 2 home theater systems one 5.2, and a 7.2. and they both have bass shakers incorporated that have about a second time delay. Movies is ok but when listening to music the delay is obvious. Each system has a powered sub wired and there is no time delays with those subs.

At first, I thought it was because I was using a wireless sub out receiver/transmitter, but I experience the time delay with the wired setup below.

1st setup) JBL MA510 --> DYNASTY PROAUDIO WSA-5TR-V2 Wireless Audio Adapter --> 400 watt sub plate amp --> Dayton BST-300EX

2nd setup) Sony STR-AN1000 --> SpeakerPower HTB-700 Sub Amp --> wired directly to the Dayton BST-300EX.

Anyone have ideas or remedies for this? Maybe try a different bass shaker?

Any other options than buying out my 2024 gv70 electrified lease ending in 2027?

I really want to keep the car, but the buyout is 43k on the agreement. Anyone know a work around to get the car cheaper? Any way to negotiate this down? I know silly question.

I see the 2024 genesis gv70 electric's going for like 38k, and i feel like that will be more like 32-34k in a year and a half.

Mine will have roughly 25-30k miles. Perfect condition so far.

In what situation does it ever make sense to buy out your lease?

2021 Kia Sedona aftermarket sub install. Barely used the sub. Brand new audio control 750 watt rms amp. Worked for a week then one day noticed amp didn’t come one. Amp Grounded at factory location below OEM wires. Sanded paint and sealed. 4 gauge wire. OEM wires on top. 12+ ran through steering wheel column grommet not touching any metal. At amp, checked polarity. Checked amp fuse it’s good. Remote turn on good. I feel like it’s the ground…

Any thoughts?

Hi all, I'm looking for a loaded enclosures for my wife's minivan. She currently has a Skar 8" EVL loaded enclosure with 750 watts at 1 ohm going to it. While I can shake the windows with some tracks, I'm noticing that it doesn't dig as deep as other subs I've had, and heard. Such as in the 25-30hz range. Can anyone recommend any other companies that sell a loaded enclosure like this in the states? Budget $500-$1000. I don't want to build any more enclosures, no time. And also, I need to stick with the 750 watt amp. The key here is that I'm looking for a loaded enclosure, similarly sized (maybe 1-2" wider, deeper, taller) but with a lower frequency response.

I'm also willing to buy a separate sub enclosure, ported or sealed, and mount the sub, but I cant be building any more sub boxes.

**A side note, I have a spare 10" GCON sub laying around. Also a 10" Skar subwoofer laying around.

The SKAR EVL Enclosure dimensions:

Height 12.50"
Length 18.25"
Depth 2 (Top) 13.00"
Depth 1 (Bottom) 16.50"

Primarily, it's because I use the distraction of planning a system build, or upgrading gear, to avoid having to think of the negative (or uncomfortable) things in my personal life. I learned that when I'm conceptualizing a system, shopping for components, and reading reviews, I'm avoiding thinking about the shit in my life. Get a little dopamine bump in the process.

Secondarily, I get to enjoy music from quality gear, but I find that my listening sessions are not very long. I love testing new gear and listening to my set of reference tracks, but after that, I find myself going back to the same habits.

I might need therapy or something. Anyone else relate to this?

Edit: added a few words here and there to support what I'm trying to say.
