After experiment I’m fully redesigned my screenshots. Would love to here you thoughts

One month ago I integrated dark theme to my app and remembered that someone write on Reddit that dark theme improves conversation rate and I decided make the experiment and created new screenshots with dark theme design. Made one post month ago with newly published screenshots and now I can say that results improved—maybe it looked more professional, maybe it resonated better with the audience—but the results were better.

I remembered a comment from a user under the post who suggested looking at the results and, if they improved, adding more contrast to the text. I decided to do just that. What’s more, I noticed that no shadow had been added, so the text was blending in a bit; I added a shadow and made the font slightly larger. But I decided to take it a step further and highlight one word in yellow—this is my experiment, and I’m curious to see how it turns out.

I built an iOS app to track my fishing sessions — would love your feedback

Growing up, my dad and I kept Excel spreadsheets to track our catches and spots. That memory stuck with me — so I built Fishing Tracker.

The idea is simple: start a session, log your catches, spots and notes on the water in a few taps. Everything is tied to your GPS location. Real-time weather and a live map are included. The app runs in the background to save battery.

Prefer to log after the trip? No problem — manual logging works just as well.

The goal is bigger than a diary. I want to build full fishing seasons where every trip has its own stats and story.

Major update just dropped last night — manual logging, extended fish activity forecast and a full trip report after every session.

Ich bin ein Angelbegeisterter und habe Fishing Tracker für iOS entwickelt — ich freue mich auf euer Feedback!

Ich liebe das Angeln, vor allem auf Raubfische. Ich erinnere mich, wie wir vor etwa 10 Jahren mit meinem Vater Excel-Tabellen führten, in denen wir aufschrieben, wo ungefähr der Biss war und welchen Köder wir verwendet haben. Ich war damals noch klein und ging zur Schule, aber sobald sich die Möglichkeit bot, beschloss ich, eine App für mein Haupthobby zu entwickeln. Ich habe bereits Erfahrung mit einer Angelapp, aber das ist eine völlig andere Geschichte, die sich in eine andere Richtung entwickeln wird.

Die App wurde vor 2 Monaten veröffentlicht, aber gestern Nacht erschien ein sehr wichtiges erstes großes Update — das hat mir die Zuversicht gegeben, endlich öffentlich darüber zu sprechen!

Das Grundkonzept ist die Verfolgung des Angelvorgangs mit schnellem Protokollieren am Wasser, Notizen, Stellen und Fängen. Alles ist an Ihren Standort gebunden, was der Schlüsselfaktor ist. Wenn Sie eine Sitzung starten, läuft die App im Hintergrund weiter, um den Akku zu schonen. Außerdem werden in Echtzeit Wettervorhersagen und eine Karte mit Ihren Ergebnissen angezeigt, die Sie bearbeiten, löschen oder ergänzen können. In Zukunft hoffe ich sehr, dass ich auch Angelrouten aufzeichnen kann — das ist beim Trolling sehr nützlich, ich bin sicher, das wird klappen!

Ich verstehe, dass viele gerne erst nach der Tour protokollieren, daher habe ich eine manuelle Erfassung hinzugefügt, die der Live-Erfassung fast identisch ist — außer dass Sie Datum und Standort auf der Karte manuell wählen müssen. Ansonsten ist es derselbe Prozess, der jederzeit ausgefüllt werden kann.
Das Hauptziel ist es, nicht nur ein Tagebuch zu schaffen, sondern vollständige Saisons, in denen alles rund um die Tour und ihre Statistiken aufgebaut ist — damit Sie alles an einem Ort speichern und bequem einsehen und verbessern können.

Saisonstatistiken und Filterung fehlen noch, werden aber kommen.

Alle Prognosen basieren auf verschiedenen Indikatoren und haben eine Fehlerquote — Ihre Erfahrung und Ihr Angelplatz stehen immer an erster Stelle. Jede Erfahrung ist nicht nur praktisch, sondern auch theoretisch — vergessen Sie das nicht 😊
