Reach out to Japanese press! 1500+ WL thanks to them 🩵
I recently got a lot of visibility for my game by reaching out to the Japanese press with a press release about my game releasing a demo on Steam!
A few websites published articles about the game (some just published my press release translated, some wrote a brief article).
They also tweeted about the game which was a big boost I think :)
Give it a try, it might work for your game as well! Good luck! (You can email them in English no problem)
The websites to write to were suggested a few months ago on this subreddit! in this amazing post
( One of the articles: https://news.denfaminicogamer.jp/news/260526o )
The game is called SUSHIAMO btw if you are curious 🐡 https://store.steampowered.com/app/4555040/Sushiamo/

Probably the best help was that some published a tweet about the game as well :)

An IG reel of my game went viral and now have 500+ players destroying the demo with absurd combinations 💀
I don't even know how the player managed to get so many "gold leafs" considering they are legendary 😅
The game is called Sushiamo, if you want to try it or wishlist it https://store.steampowered.com/app/4555040/Sushiamo/
Hey everyone I'm developing a roguelite deck-builder in the style of Balatro but about Sushi!
What's special about the game is that each ingredient card has a specific synergy with other ingredients and tools (which are the passive item).
Plus I love to add a lot of unexpected mechanics like ingredients that change every time they get played (called Quantum ingredients), or they mutate other ingredients (Mutated) or give a gigantic bonus (Frozen) but then become super bad (Mushy).
Basically I'm having a lot of fun implementing interesting mechanic which change each run :D
If you are curious you can play the demo right now on Steam

And if you like it feel free to play the demo and wishlist it, it helps a lot!
Let me know if you have any question or curiosity, this reddit is such a good source of discussion about game mechanics and I took a loot of good ideas from the discussion about what people likes and don't like about roguelites!
Hi everyone, I'm developing a roguelike deck-builder in the style of Balatro but about Sushi, the core loop of the game is collecting ingredients, tools and sauces to create the highest scoring sushi you can and reach day 25 to complete the run and unlock more stuff :)
I mentioned the ingredient synergies in the title and an example would be like:
- Rice: x2 Flavour to every Topping if the sushi contains a Nori
- Shrimp: +30 Flavour for every ingredient currently in your hand
I found that with those kind of synergies you can find a lot of cool combinations, for instancy my brother is obsessed with a full shrimp build + a sauce which let's you draw 5 more ingredients to the hand :D
You can play the DEMO right now on Steam:

If you like it feel free to wishlist it, it helps a lot!
Happy to answer any question or curiosity about the game or the development of it :)
Hi everyone, I'm am a solo dev from Ireland :)
I am looking to expand the Playtest to get more opinions on balance and the game feeling overall.
From the feedback so far it seems that people are already enjoying the game, and the playtime seems pretty good so far.
Playtest link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4555040/Sushiamo/
Description:
Sushiamo is a sushi-themed roguelike deck-builder where you make crazy sushi to reach increasingly higher, game-breaking scores. Collect new ingredients, unlock special tools, and use unique sauces to create powerful synergies. Choose your path to unique rewards and survive the service!
A full run is 25 days, each day you choose where to go next with a procedurally generated metro style map, the gameplay loop revolves around collecting and playing ingredients cards which have special synergies like "bonus points when played with another Fish" to win the round in each restaurant, then the user can also collect and buy tools (passive effects) and sauces (active effects and consumable).
Additionally there are occasional events during the run where you have to make a "story" choice to get something (could be good or bad)
Feedback:
I have a google form linked in the game and a discord as well, feel free to join or complete the questionary if you like.
