Adopted a deaf cat, unsure if he's really deaf

I adopted those two cuties a few weeks ago, Yuki, the white cloud is deaf, at least according to the previous owners.

But I've seen him react to some noises, but I'm not entirely sure if he heard it, or just felt the vibration.

Any tips how to determine if he's really deaf? Or how much he actually hears?

Edit: thanks for all the tips and responses, we've determined that he's most likely completely deaf, but compensates it with sensing vibrations and visual cues.

CDS brought them to me, now I can't live without them

Meet Yuki (the white cloud) and Taro (the orange idiot)

They're with me for just a few weeks but we already bonded, when I came home a few days ago and felt sad, they both came running, purring and begging for my attention to cheer me up, they are so incredibly sweet and gentle.

Missing 180° spine piece

After disassembly and cleaning I somehow lost a 180° spine piece, I think... Could also be a user error, I got him used without a manual...

Taros third adventure

I didn't plan to take taro out today, but he was sitting at the door, looking at the handle and then at me. So I got him in his harness, attached the leash and opened the door.

He sat at the open door for a few seconds and then went down the stairs, out the main door and into the garden.

He was a little hesitant to go further, but a few treats convinced him to try.

We were out for around half an hour, and didn't get far, but he only panicked once, when a big scary truck drove by.

He even held his tail high up in the air for a good part of the walk.

When he saw his first dog, he decided that he had enough and wanted to go back home. He almost walked the entire way, I only had to carry him at a few places without a wall/hedge for him to walk along. As soon as he saw the garden he went straight (got a lil confused about the fence) for the door and up the stairs.

I rewarded him with a whole tube treat and he immediately started purring like the lil broken car he likes to impersonate.
