Illiterate Beach?

So, while living in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1985 or 86, I caught a show by a Minneapolis band called Illiterate Beach, and enjoyed it tremendously.

Does anyone remember this group? Or even better, where I can find an online copy of their single ‘So She Knows’?

(Can’t find it on Spotify or YouTube).

Elbows Up on the Gordie Howe Bridge

Today, the Gordie Howe Bridge officially opened. Finally. After a decade of construction, cabinet-level interference, presidential threats, a flood of disinformation, and inflammatory demands.

The second bridge spanning the Detroit River from Michigan to Ontario, The Gordie Howe Bridge was intended to relieve traffic across the Ambassador Bridge, a privately held span that funnels people, commercial goods and culture across North America’s busiest international crossing.  Every day the Ambassador Bridge was responsible for 10,000 vehicles daily, and 25% of Canada’s imports for a total of $360 million in trade per day.

But that was before the second Trump administration, punishing tariffs, and especially, the President’s repeated threats of involuntary annexation.

More than a decade earlier, on May 14, 2015, Stephen Harper, the Conservative Prime Minister of Canada and Michigan Republican Governor Rick Snyder announced that the planned new trade conduit was to be named the Gordie Howe International Bridge “in recognition of the legendary hockey player, a proud Canadian who led the Detroit Red Wings to four Stanley Cup victories.”

Of course, in light of later events, the name would end up being ironic.

My sister is missing, really trying to spread the word

Edit: my mom has been in contact with Megan as of 5am this morning, the police have been notified and the search has been called off. Thank you everyone for your upvotes and kind words. One of the reasons I love Winnipeg is because of our community ❤️

Hi all, I’m really exhausting all options here and all platforms to reach as many people as possible. My sister is missing, and hasn’t been seen since May 27th at around 2:30am in the downtown area. A police report was filed and a couple community bolos. If any of you guys spot her please contact any of the phone numbers on the attached picture.
Her name is Megan Kowal and is 5’9 and around 243 lbs (as stated by the police report but I suspect she weighs less) with bleach blonde hair and green eyes.
Thank you in advance everyone ❤️

Jerry Potts Hat?

Can anyone ID this hat worn with a wide band worn by plainsman and guide Jerry Potts? Wikipedia says it’s a Stetson, but they don’t name a model, and could just be generalizing.
