Has anyone here read or collected DB Galaxy Touring / the Dragon Ball GT manga adaptation?

Finally got Volume 10 of DB Galaxy Touring, the restored English edition of the old Chinese Dragon Ball GT manga adaptation.

It’s such a strange and interesting Dragon Ball collectible, not exactly a standard official manga like the original Toriyama material, but still a really cool piece of GT history.

The cover with SSJ4 Goku and Baby goes hard, and the interior pages have that classic GT weirdness.

Curious if anyone else here has collected these or read through them? What do you think of this version of GT?

Finally got my Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen Omnibus, after weeks of waiting and one return later

Finally got my Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen Omnibus.

This one took a bit of a journey, weeks of waiting, one damaged copy, one return, and a lot of collector anxiety later, I finally have a copy I’m happy to keep.

It isn’t absolutely flawless, but the hardcover itself is fine and the damage is only minor dust jacket/corner wear, so this finally feels like a peaceful keeper copy.

I’ve been wanting this mostly as the Utopia / Extinction Team / pre-AvX era shelf piece. I know this run is complicated and not everyone’s favorite, but as a historical X-Men era marker, especially for Cyclops, Emma, and the “before Krakoa, there was Utopia” angle, I’m really glad to finally have it.

Now I can finally stop refreshing tracking pages and actually read the thing.

Scott and Emma ranked #1 in the fan poll, do you think Marvel will ever seriously revisit them?

With Scott and Emma ranking #1 in the recent fan poll, I’m curious what people think their actual chances are of coming back together in the comics.

Obviously fan polls don’t automatically decide editorial direction, but it does show that there’s still a strong audience for them as a couple.

For me, Scott and Emma worked because they weren’t a “perfect” romance. They were complicated, sharp, political, wounded, and weirdly honest with each other. Their relationship felt very tied to the Morrison/Whedon/Utopia era of the X-Men, where mutant survival, leadership, guilt, and emotional damage were all tangled together.

But at the same time, Marvel has clearly leaned back into Scott/Jean in recent years, especially after Krakoa and From the Ashes.

So what do you think?

Do Scott and Emma still have a real chance of being revisited seriously, or was that relationship too tied to a specific era of X-Men history?

And if Marvel did bring them back, would you want it as a full romance again, unresolved tension, or just mutual respect between exes?

I just realized Emma Frost was in one of my first childhood Spider-Man comics, almost 17 years before I actually became an Emma fan.

I found one of my old childhood comics recently, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #6, an Indian issue that my grandfather bought for me when I was around 8 or 9.

At the time, I was already a Spider-Man fan, so I just saw Spider-Man on the cover and wanted it immediately. I remember rereading this one issue again and again as a kid because I loved the character interactions, the art, and just the simple joy of owning a Spider-Man comic.

The funny thing is, I recently started getting much deeper into X-Men comics after years of mostly knowing the characters through the movies and adaptations. Over the last few months, I’ve especially become more interested in Emma Frost, beyond just knowing her from X-Men: First Class or seeing her in adaptations.

Then, while thinking about this old Spider-Man comic, I suddenly remembered: “Wait… wasn’t there a blonde woman in this issue who could read minds?”

So I dug it out, opened it again, and yep, it was Emma Frost.

That honestly felt weirdly heartwarming. I thought Emma Frost was a character I had only properly discovered recently, but apparently she had been sitting quietly in one of my earliest comic memories since childhood. I didn’t understand who she was back then, and I definitely didn’t know her importance to the X-Men, but she was there.

So in a strange way, Emma Frost was part of my comic-reading life long before I knew Wolverine, Cyclops, Professor X, Magneto, Iron Man, Captain America, or most of the MCU characters became a big part of my fandom life.

It’s just a small thing, but I found it really cool, rediscovering an old childhood comic and realizing that a character I now love had already been there all along.

Any news on a restock/reprint for Spider-Man: Brand New Day Omnibus Vol. 1?

Hey everyone,

Has there been any official announcement or reliable rumor about Spider-Man: Brand New Day Omnibus Vol. 1 getting a restock/reprint?

I know Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 are coming/available around the movie hype window, and with the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film releasing soon, I was wondering if Marvel might restock Vol. 1 as well.

I’m trying to decide whether to wait for a restock, grab it if I find it at a decent price, or just go with smaller trades/other formats for now.

Has anyone heard anything from Omar/Near Mint Condition, PRH listings, comic shop distributors, or other collected-edition sources?

Thanks!

I’m trying to collect J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man run in Modern Era Epic Collection format.

So far I know about:

- Coming Home(Couldn't buy it as it's OOS/OOP)

- The Life and Death of Spiders(Bought)

- Sins Past(Bought)

Has Marvel announced any further Modern Era Epic Collections after Sins Past that would collect The Other, Civil War, Back in Black, and One More Day material?

Also, with the recent Marvel collected-editions staffing changes/layoffs, do people expect the Modern Era Epic line to continue normally, or is there any reason to worry about delays/cancellations?

I’m trying to decide whether to stay with Epics or switch to the JMS Omnibus route, though Vol. 1 also seems OOP/OOS right now.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any idea whether X-Men: Blue & Gold Mutant Genesis Omnibus is expected to get a restock/reprint anytime soon.

I’m a big fan of X-Men ’97, and I’ve always loved the costumes and overall vibe of that era. With Avengers: Doomsday coming and James Marsden returning as Cyclops in a more comic-accurate costume, I’ve been even more interested in experiencing that period of X-Men properly in comics.

This omnibus seems like the main book I’d want for that early ’90s Blue/Gold team era, but it looks hard to find at a reasonable price right now.

Has anyone seen recent restocks, retailer updates, or heard anything from PRH/Marvel collected edition channels? Also, for those who own it, is it worth waiting for at a normal price rather than overpaying?

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I recently received my Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen Omnibus, and it came with some noticeable damage, mainly corner dings, slight warping on edges, and minor cosmetic wear on the dust jacket/cover.

Structurally it’s fine (binding and pages seem okay), but visually it’s not exactly what I’d call “near mint,” which is what I usually hope for with omnibuses.

Here’s my dilemma:

I bought it for about $89 USD equivalent

It’s now listed around $119 USD equivalent

It’s also showing low stock / selling fast.

So replacing it would cost me around $30 more, with no guarantee the next copy will be better.(There's no replacement policy from where i bought it, they only accept returns and full refund, so I'll have to re purchase it).

I’m trying to figure out if this level of damage is considered acceptable for an omnibus, or if you’d personally return/replace it despite the price jump and availability risk.

Would really appreciate some honest collector opinions, especially from people who’ve dealt with similar situations. 🙏
