Headaches/Migraines? Almost daily? Is this a thing? Has anyone else experienced an uptick in migraines?

Is this a peri thing or something else potentially? (Yes, I know you’re not doctors, what is your personal experience?) I’m reading that it could be, and right before my period they make sense. I’ve always been a “headachey” person and just get them quite easily, but these are full on migraines. I wake up in the morning with a headache and by noon I can’t function, sometimes I do vomit. Yes I know I need to see my doctor. It’s to that point now. I try my hardest not to take excedrine everyday but sometimes it’s necessary every other day. I can’t take NSAIDS, because of the headaches I’ve always had I took too much when I was younger and caused an ulcer. Ibuprofen is really the only thing that helps but that’s out. I only say I try not to take the excedrine daily because I don’t want the caffeine to cause a rebound headache when I don’t take it. Ugh 😣 just put me out of my misery 😆

Have a spring start. Switch to Jan start or keep on?

Someone posted about Hobonichi day and it got me thinking. I have a spring start cousin and I’m obsessed. Written almost every day except for maybe 4-5 since March 20-ish. (I back dated). So do I:
- put this book aside in Jan and start the year fresh and leave this one half-ish blank? (I like the idea of starting Jan fresh each year)
- start a Jan book and use this spring start for…?
- keep on with this spring start and just keep doing spring start every year?

It’s time to admit it. I’m 44 and I’m sure I’ve been in peri for at least 4 years.

I’ve had PMDD for my whole life. Was on BC before having kids (haha hell on wheels) then an IUD after. At 37ish I felt… weird. Like headaches were worse, fatigue was worse, brain fog was worse, but I couldn’t track anything because of the IUD I wasn’t getting a period. So I had it removed and IT GOT WORSER (from a meme I know how to spell lol).

I did go to the doc and she said it’s probably peri and track everything for six months and we’ll reevaluate. Ok. All my blood tests were totally normal.

I get completely debilitating migraines that last 1-3 days. My cycle is sometimes 15 days and sometimes 60. Cramps and bleeding isn’t too bad and has stayed consistent for me. Brain fog is bad. Fatigue is bad but it’s always been that way. Cranky for sure. Unreasonably Irritable for absolutely no good reason.

I’m pissed because:

  1. this isn’t fair to me, my kids or my husband.
  2. I thought my mom was psychotic and needed to be hospitalized! I had NO idea. No one talks about this! No one tells us!
  3. It means I’m getting old. And I’m not ready.

Anyway. That’s my story. Been putting off coming here looking for advice because I didn’t want to admit it was true.

What caused the color change in the blue ink?

I’m new to this fountain pen hobby, and I’m using kakuno extra fine here with Kon-peki Iroshizuku. I flushed the pen completely and it was 99.9% dry this morning. Then filled it with the blue. It had a red in it previously. The bright blue (the true color of the ink) was how it first wrote this morning. The darker blue is how it was writing about 8-12 hours later. What gives? What am I doing wrong?

Thoughts? What do you think of this layout?

I’m not sure it’s my fave but it’s the colors that are too harsh for me.

Please tell me what I’m doing wrong and that my bread machine (loved dearly by my passed on Grandma and Dad) is not broken!

I was not, in fact, attempting to make chunky peanut butter. It was supposed to be “egg” sandwich bread, I followed the recipe exactly from the recipe book that came with this machine. I did use heavy whipping cream instead of milk. Is that what did it?

I ordered Sterling Ink subscription on May 23, it says I’m getting July subscription? When might that actually arrive? Any ideas why I wouldn’t be getting June?

Y’all, I did it! It was NOT as hard as I thought it would be, either. Especially the last 300 to get this GORGEOUS house. And now I have TWO houses? And another access to my main chest? 🪄 magic! 🌟

I just started the game in the middle of the last star path and I was so confused, spent all my moonstones and then was obviously not able to complete the star path. So it took me a hot minute to regain all the stones, then once I did I realized I still had 11 days to complete it! So I’ve been grinding and finished! Way sooner than I thought too. Yahoo! This game is so great. 🌟

Treating low while on the go in summer? For 12yo in sports and very active.

My son is in sports and very active in the summer. I’m looking for some easily portable low treatment that he’ll actually carry with him and won’t melt at the pool, park, etc. We’ve done fruit snacks but he’s pretty sick of them and they’re not always fast enough. The glucose gel is so farking expensive I can’t believe it. I thought honey packets but he hates it. (I know, he needs to get over it, and when he’s low, he’d take whatever but when he’s packing a bag to go, it’s not what he’d choose). Juice boxes are great but bulky and heavy.

My 12yo son is t1. I was a teacher but lost my job and this insurance. My husband and I think it would be best for me to stay home.

- Husband’s full time job is probably going out of business so asking them for insurance is not really a good option.

- I’ve started researching plans on healthcare.gov but I lose my coverage June 30 and with how much we’ve made/will make it’ll cost $2000-3000/mo. This can’t be better than going without. Right?

- when I try to ask the doctor or pharmacy how much a visit or insulin or g7 or omnipod would cost without insurance, they give me the run around. How do I get a straight answer?

- my kids father might be able to get them on his insurance but he’s such a jackass I don’t even want to ask because he’ll make a whole thing about it, even though he’s never paid a dime toward my sons care in 6 years.

- maybe I should just look for teaching jobs (not even close to what we want for our family, personally, so this is a last ditch option).

Editing to add: this year (2026) we’ll have made too much money to qualify for any assistance, including programs for kids. That’s why it’s $3000+ for marketplace insurance.

Is next weekend. Actually about 20-30min west of the city. I’m thinking I might go, but idk… I’ve never been to a stationery or pen show or fest. I have more supplies than I need already… but it might be fun…
