Just an idea...

So, with spectrum coming up to rename their tv plans to compete with YouTube TV, do we think they will eventually let go of the "You must have internet service to stream TV" thing?

I loved spectrum tv, but hated their internet, hence why I switched to AT&T Fiber. If they can do this, they will definitely earn customers back, and I'm sure that would help them considering all the customers they are losing from internet service.

And no, I do not want the cable box only service. I have done away with cable boxes for a long time and really prefer streaming, and no I do not want YouTube TV or Fubo or DirecTV, they all seem pretty pricy and not worth it.

Question regarding pickup at facility

Hey all.

I made a post yesterday regarding a delayed package, and it turns out they sent it to the wrong facility. It’s gonna get to my local facility tonight since it’s only an hour and a half away and normally there are trucks every night from where my package is (Greensboro) to Charlotte (Charlotte).

This package was very important for me to get, and I was told it would be there Thursday and the delay happened and I’m gone the entirety of next week and I need this before I leave. And since UPS doesn’t deliver on Saturdays, and my estimated delivery date is Monday, I would prefer to just drive down to the facility to get it if possible.

I appreciate the help.

Mebane NC, package late

Hey all.

My package was supposed to be delivered today (Charlotte NC) and now I am assuming it wont.

It says it’ll be here by 9:00, but considering it’s in Mebane which is an hour and a half away, I doubt it will unless they quickly get it here and on a truck to my home.

I have been seeing tons of things regarding the Mebane location being bad which is why I’m worried it’s lost.

But also, the package went to Winston Salem and then Mebane. My question is why did UPS decide to send it the OPPOSITE way of where it is supposed to go? I am willing to bet there was at least a truck from Winston Salem to Charlotte.

Thanks all.

Question about PCPP saying "A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required."

Hey all.

I currently am building a PC, and PCPP is saying I need an adapter, but I see mixed reviews everywhere saying I DONT need the adapter while some say I do need it.

I do not care if there is a performance difference, but wouldnt I just be able to plug them in? Or does the Generation of the cable really matter that much?

For reference, I am using the Vector V100R case from Lian Li and my motherboard is an Asus TUF GAMING B650E-E WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard. I appreciate anyones advise!!

How is the AMD Wraith Thermal Cooler?

Hey all.

I am currently building a PC and getting the parts for it, it is mainly a budget PC build.

But I just have a quick question regarding the cooling, how is the AMD cooler that comes with the CPU? I might slightly overclock the CPU and I know that might generate some heat.

Thanks!

High Split availability on FCC map

Hey all.

I was looking over the FCC broadband map, and spectrum high split is showing available in various parts of my town, but it’s maybe only like 1 house in neighborhoods. I checked the addresses on spectrums site and the broadband label did not advertise high split speeds, nor 2000/1000 speeds.

I am currently an AT&T Fiber customer but have been interested in trying out spectrum when high split becomes available, so I wouldn’t have been getting high split maintenance emails.

Any help would be appreciated!

Rate my budget outdoor OTA setup

Hey all.

I currently am in need of an outdoor OTA antenna, I have tried some indoor antennas, and due to the area I live in it is kinda difficult to get a good signal in all rooms, especially downstairs. So, I looked into an outdoor one to run directly to my old spectrum junction box where all the coax connects to my home. None of this equipment is in use because I have AT&T Fiber, and I would love to reuse the old directv satellite dish mount on my roof considering there is already a coax cable ran to it, but its too high on my roof. The antenna will be on the back of my house, so my house will be blocking some of the signal coming from Fox, NBC, and CBS, but judging by my rabbitears report it should be fine. Just looking to see what your opinions are!!

Need some help with getting a savings account for a 15 year old.

Hey all.

As said in the title, I am 15 years old and I plan on getting my first job this upcoming summer. I made the promise to myself and to my parents that I would try to be smart about my money, and came up with a plan using the 50% to savings for something like a car, 30% to my fun money just to spend, 20% to something I would maybe want, like new golf clubs. (Thanks to my economics teacher)

I am currently trying to find a savings account I could open up and use. I currently have a USAA account, but their savings account is only a 0.01% APY, and I was hoping I could maybe try and get something a bit higher. I used AI and saw that Ally has a savings account that has a 3.10% APY with no minimum deposit, but my only concern is if it would be a joint account. I prefer to have access to my money as I do on my USAA, just to monitor where it is at. Link to Ally

I would appreciate any feedback anyone has. I know AI can make a lot of mistakes, so I would prefer some human feedback.

Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry if I didn’t make it clear, I would like my parents to have some access to my account like my jointed USAA, but I would like some access via the joint with my own login.

Rory has to tell crowd at Hole 15 at Quail to be quiet.

Reposted due to title because some got mad over it.

Rosey was in his swing and had to back off twice due to people talking, for context, Rory yelled HEY while the volunteers there did the whistling and did the usual “Quiet please” before each swing.

If you’re coming to a golf event, please know the rules around the course.

Good evening all.

I currently am an AT&T Fiber customer, I dumped spectrum 1 year ago for the more reliable and faster service, and I just have a couple questions.

I used to have Spectrum TV, and I am now starting to realize that Spectrum TV was worth it for a good price. The issue is that I want to keep my AT&T Fiber, but I dont want cable boxes all around my house considering the $18 price tag for each in 7 rooms, and I am just concerned if spectrum still blocks streaming every single channel if it detects a non spectrum IP Address.

Option 1: I did an online chat with Spectrum, and they told me that if I wanted to stay with AT&T Fiber and just get spectrum TV and be able to stream, I would just need 1 cable box, and I could stream on the rest of the TVs using an AT&T Fiber IP Address and get access to all the channels, this I am concerned about because I am not 100% sure it is true.

Option 2: I get Spectrum Internet and TV and just get either 100 MBPS or 500 MBPS and just have the TVs paired to that WiFi connection, and use the spectrum router as a failover incase my fiber goes down, I am extremely lucky to have great pricing on my fiber to be able to do this ($27 a month), and it would be nice to have considering I am located in an area with very slim cell signal.

I appreciate any input yall have.
