YOU OWN THIS GAME. YOU NOW DO NOT OWN THIS GAME.

I know this gets harped on all the time but it's fucked and we should not stop being upset at this practice.

A FORCED EULA that explicitly redefines my ownership to a thing I already bought (years ago). This practice is shady when you first buy something but it's exceptionally shady when introduced years after a product was 'purchased' and is unskippable and if I don't accept I can't continue to use the thing I paid for.

"If buying is owning, then pirating isn't stealing." 🏴‍☠️

My daughter's H&M underwear came with 7 double sided tags

Well actually 6 of the tags were double sided but there were 7 total so like... 13 pages of literature in her kids underwear. Surely, I don't know, one would do?

Could a 50 watt laser on drone, be a possible future of pest control method?

=> Published paper (this is not a joke): https://spie.org/photonics-europe/presentation/A-photonics-based-humane-method-for-the-elimination-of-Colorado/14086-57

As part of exploring laser drones for pest control (shooting insects like Colorado Beetle with a laser on a drone), a paper was published in collaboration with the university of Brussels.

Long story short: It looks like drone was laser may be viable as a pest control alternative to chemical pesticides.

The cost per hectare simulations (cheaper then traditional pesticides), as well as videos of the prototype and other aspects, can be found on: www.photonicinsecticides.com

The 50 watt 450 nm laser was intended as a statement. The real product would have a 1550 nm 10 or 20 watt laser (1550 nm cannot reach the retina -- eye "safe").

I am hoping some of you can try to "shatter" the assumptions, and why this cannot be, and in that way I will have a stronger case to present to EIC transition grant request jury, to further progress this projects, who's main intention is to protect bees and lower cost of food.

Note: there is nothing for sale. This is not a commercial offer, but honoust request for feedback. I hope it lands (pun intended) well :) Showing me some love could possible help to get the Grant (as the world needs to warm up to this idea a bit), so I would appreciate an upvote.

Nick

Restaurant Operation Fee...

Bro. Just call it the "fuck you pay me" fee... What do you mean 'ensure exceptional quality and service'. That's usually included and the fact that they add this is so God damn stupid.

2 fries.

3 burgers.

1 ice cream.

$55 for pickup (not delivery.)

Embedded Readers in Vehicle Taillights Detect Unauthorized Parts and Disable Cars Forcing Dealer-Only Authorization

Vehicle taillights contain embedded readers that interface with onboard computers. Replacing a unit with an uncoded part triggers mismatch detection. This enables immediate vehicle shutdown.

The system confirms the taillight does not belong to that specific vehicle. Owners cannot drive and must pay towing fees to an authorized dealer.

Dealers connect proprietary computers and input passwords to authorize the replacement already purchased by the owner. Diagnostic fees add further costs before mobility returns.

Manufacturers frame these systems as theft prevention. The architecture creates pathways for repair monopolies that block independent fixes. Owners lose practical control over their vehicles.

— Authentication technology presented as security now locks owners into dealer-controlled repairs and prevents independent maintenance of purchased vehicles.
