[English > Japanese] “We The People” translation help

I figured I’d ask here incase I don’t get a response from someone I know who’s fluent.

I was asked by a good friend of mine to do something for Independence Day here in the US tomorrow. The people hosting this little local event are wanting “We The People”, like in the declaration, in different languages. She’s doing French. She’s also fluent in quite a few languages including Japanese, but she’s super rusty since she doesn’t use it all that much. Except when helping me with simple translations. So she’s not 100% sure on this exact translation.

She’s going to look in her Japanese dictionary tonight to get a translation, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask you all as well. Thank you in advance!!

I was definitely expecting high triglycerides

For context, this is MY blood, and I washed my hands right after. My mom came and drew me before heading to work. The last couple times I’ve had bloodwork I’ve had high cholesterol. I guess I’ve gotten better. But we’ll see.

Looking into getting a pair of hermit crabs in a few years. Advice for a newbie?

I’ve been really getting into hermit crabs lately, and I’m considering rescuing a couple when I get my own place in a couple of years.

I like the idea of a “look but no touch” pet considering my busy schedule. I do know that they require a lot of care, specific humidity levels, etc. and I think a 20 gal tank is the MINIMUM for two. And since they sleep during the day when I work, it would be perfect, I think.

But I would want to know all there is about them and their care before actually getting a couple. So anything would be helpful! Like what to add to an Amazon list for the future, specific care, etc!

So sorry if this isn’t worded correctly. I’m bad with words.

Meal Prep ideas for someone new to meal prepping?

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right flair. I’m looking for advice.

I’m new to meal prepping, I want to start since I’ve gained 30 lbs since starting my new job. I eat out for the convenience and I want it to stop.

Do you meal prep for the whole week and portion it out? Every couple of days? What foods are best for prepping for the week? Stuff like that!

Edit: thank you everyone for your advice!! 💖💖

AITA for asking a different co-worker to do something for me?

For context, I’m a phlebotomist. For those who don’t know what that is, I draw bloodwork. I don’t work FOR this practice, I work with them. I’m outsourced and just stationed here.

I try to avoid asking this person to do stuff like put in orders for a patient if they’re missing them, print out insurance card info if the patient doesn’t have it on them (provided it’s not in my system), etc. stuff that has to do with the lab work I do.

Yesterday I asked her (because no one else was around at the time) to put in a patient’s order that brought in a stool sample. She goes: “I’m busy.” Which is fine, but what I find crazy is that she’s not okay with patients looking at urine cups, but she seemed perfectly fine with letting a stool sample (poop) sit on my counter for patients to see. A counter that I don’t have space on anyways because I have a small lab. So a few hours go by. Nothing. I check to see if she put in in. No. I ask her again, “I’m busy.”

So I go ask the Nurse Practitioner if she can put in the order. She does, and I quickly get the stool sample shipped out and put away.

Today, I ask the person for a copy of a patient’s insurance card. My system was down, so I couldn’t ask her as the time (because I literally couldn’t check to see if it was even in, I just knew what tubes to draw.) The MA was on lunch. Again, a couple hours pass. Nothing. I’ve taken my lunch, and now I’m trying to get caught up again since my system was back up. So I ask for the MA’s help in printing it. She prints it for me. Co-Worker gets mad at me.

Now I’ve noticed that she’s forgetful, and will often forget stuff, and even if I remind her after a few hours, she gets angry at me. She has absolutely left the office without fulfilling something I asked her to do 8-9 hours prior, and unless I have what I need, I can’t ship out the specimens. And they can’t just sit. They have to go to the lab for testing, if they don’t, I get in trouble and the patient has to be re-stuck, give another urine sample, new Pap smear, etc.

Edit for more info: I don’t demand she does it. I ask, and she says yes. If an order is missing, or I need specific patient information, she or someone else has to help me. That’s what I was told to do. If they don’t, I cannot ship out labs. Which means the patient would need to come back to give more samples.

So AITA for asking another co-worker for help?

Why is it always men that are scared of needles?

It’s always men with tattoo sleeves too. And yes, I know the feeling is different. I have 5 tattoos, but I’d rather get a blood draw because it’s quick and done within two minutes.

I had a pt come in hyping himself up to be afraid, tense when I stuck the needle in, and he started hyperventilating. If you tense, it’ll hurt more than a little pinch. He almost passed out on me. So I told him to tell every future phlebotomist to have him lay down. I don’t really think it was a vasovagal response from my experience seeing them, but I could be wrong.

On another, unrelated, note, why do patients assume that water will go right through them to make urine? “If you give me some water I might be able to go.” It doesn’t work that fast.

Rei Ogami Headshot

I don’t really have an anime style. It’s definitely cartoony, but I finished her headshot! Now to commission her reference sheet!!

Thick and opaque urine

I’ve never seen this before. It’s thicker than regular urine, it’s opaque, and it looks like it hurts to pee.

Pattern/Palette Idea for OC

Base by: Biozev_alt on toyhouse

I would assume unnatural colors aren’t off the table because Nazuna is pink, Michiru has dark turquoise hair and tail, and Shirou himself is Cyan. So I decided to go with a lavender. Beastmen patterns seem simple and not crazy, so I kept it simple.

I’m making a cringy self-insert (I’m cringe and I’m free), and do what I do with all my self-inserts… make them a child of a canon character lol. So Shirou’s child. She’s not immortal, nor does she have powers, just a self-indulgent character meant for myself. And I plan on drawing her soon, and commissioning her reference sheet. I just wanted to get an idea out on a F2U base.

The pink nose version is specifically for me to color pick for a puppy/baby version when I draw her.

I look forward to sharing actual art of her soon!!

Never taking another day off again

So I took off Friday so I could go dogsit early in another state instead of waiting to get off work. It was approved, great! I get to head there early. Dogsitting was fine.

I get back this morning and they didn’t refill my tubes, gauze, tourniquets, etc. They took my coban, and then took the only frozen tube caps that I had sitting in a baggy. They didn’t use them, no. They had no frozen specimens on Friday, I can see that when I check to see if the pack made it to the place safely. They didn’t hide them somewhere. I looked everywhere.

So how do I know if you even wiped everything down? What do I do if I need a frozen today? I can’t take it.

I put in a supply order for new stuff, but there’s no guarantee I’ll get it until the end of the week. I’m seriously debating whether or not to cancel my vacation at the end of September and just lose my PTO at the end of the year because of this.

My coworkers, the floats, are older than me and should know better than to take stuff from sites. Now what am I supposed to do?

Sorry for the rant. It’s just… how can you do that to someone? Can I even trust going on vacation because the same person might get put at my site and who knows what they’ll do.

A lot of questions

So I watched BNA for the first time a couple years ago, but I had also just gotten into MHA and was hyperfixating on that, so it didn’t click and become a hyperfixation. Two years later, I’m still obsessed with MHA, but something drew me back to BNA. So I’m in the middle of watching it again. I have questions that never got discussed and probably never will because of the cancellation. I’m making a very cringy self-insert that’s born a Beastman, and I’d like opinions on the lore. (I’m cringe and I’m free)

  1. Are beastmen born in their human or animals forms? When do they learn to morph? (I personally like to imagine they’re born in their animal forms)

  2. In Shirou’s youth, did they use human-made weapons like spears and bows for hunting, or did they morph into their animal forms and use their teeth and claws to take down prey?

  3. Do Beastmen with herbivore animal forms only eat a vegan/vegetarian diet? Do they think it’s weird when omnivore and carnivore Beastman eat meat? Or no because while they have traits of their animal counterparts, they’re not the same. Not by a long shot.

  4. How much of an animalistic instinct do Beastmen have? I know Pinga (Pingua?) said something about naturally knowing where to migrate. Does that carry over to others species? How much of it?

  5. Is Shirou a purebred wolf like Sylvasta? I would assume no because of the way Sylvasta talked about blood mixing. But he could’ve been and just revived from the blood of other species. (I wish we would’ve gotten a flashback of his parents. It’s sad that they didn’t even have photos back then. So all he has is fading memories and scents.)

  6. Where tf is Sylvasta’s muzzle when he morphs? Not talking about the cerebus form.

I feel like I don’t deserve this job

So as the title says… I don’t feel like I deserve the job. I don’t have a resume, I have no prior experience as a phlebotomist outside of this job and school, and I feel like I got the job because I’ve worked for my supervisor as a babysitter for her son.

I started school in October, “graduated” and got my certificate in December, and then I got hired at the end of January. I like to think I’m really good at my job, I don’t get complaints from patients, they’re always happy to come back and see me, and my co-workers like me.

But at the same time, I feel like I only got the job because I knew the supervisor, and my mom works for her too. I see my classmates struggling to get phlebotomy jobs, people on here struggling, and it makes me feel like a fraud.

Now my supervisor is a no-nonsense person. I don’t think she would’ve given me the job if she didn’t think I could do it. She saw me work with patients during my clinicals. She was amazed at how different I acted with patients because I’m a quiet person.

I don’t know, sorry for the long vent. I just feel like someone more worthy should’ve gotten my spot. Imposter syndrome is strong. And I’m super grateful that I have this job, I most definitely would’ve gotten a job somewhere else, but it would’ve taken longer for sure.

Patient Pet Peeves?

What are some of your patient (or provider) pet peeves?

Here are some of mine!

-“I haven’t drank anything at all today, I know I should’ve!” (It’s now 2-3pm)

-When they give me a full cup of urine when I need like less than a 1/4 cup.

-“I have rolling veins.”

-“I put it in the order, you should have it!” (No, I don’t. So no you didn’t. I can add it, but don’t double down.)

-Giving me patients 2 minutes before I close
