AITA for trying to break up my sister's relationship?

I (22f) recently got into an argument with my sister

(27f) because of her boyfriend (25m).

For context, my sister (who I'll call Jane) and her boyfriend (who I'll call Bob) work together. They started dating earlier this year in February, but had apparently had massive workplace crushes on each other for the past 6 years.

Now, around January, before they started dating Bob slept with one of my sister's coworkers (I'll call her Ally). Ally isn't just some random woman either. My sister and Ally are close friends, occasionally having sleepovers, lunch, and meeting up for dinner together. My family knows Ally and we love her.

Now Ally is pregnant (due next month) and she claims the baby is Bob's but Bob has been denying this so hard. Management caught whiff of the rumors and the office tensions and eventually called Ally in for questioning. However, she skipped this meeting.

Instead, she apparently confided in a supervisor who she's close too about what happened. Since then, this particular supervisor has been noticeably passive aggressive towards Jane at work. And honestly, that's when it's started getting annoyed with Jane.

She knows everything that's going on, but she still doesn't want to leave Bob. Her position is basically that if the baby is his, than fine she accepts that, but she wants him to take responsibility for his child. She's basically saying that the paternity needs to be established first and that if the baby is his, then he needs to step up.

Which, obviously, I agree with in principle. If the baby is his, then he should take responsibility.

The problem is that Bob doesn't seem to agree at all. He keeps denying that the baby is his and has even said that even if the child is his, he want nothing to do with it.

That was the thing that got to me. I ended up arguing with Jane because how can she, in my opinion, see this side of a man and still want to be with him?

I argued with her, telling her that she's looking at this as if the only issue is whether or not Bob has a child. But if the baby is his, this isn't just some technicality. This is a whole person he's potentially choosing to walk away from. And evenif the baby isn't his, I still don't think this whole situation is something she should just brush aside. He slept with someone she was close to, that woman is now pregnant, they're all working together, and the situation has already started affecting my sister at work.

I told her I wouldn't sugarcoat anything and that I think she should break up with him or atleast leave him to sort out his mess.

Jane thinks I'm judging her relationship and says that ultimately it's her choice whether she stays with Bob. Technically, she's right...but I can't help feeling like I'm watching my sister knowingly walk into a giant mess.

So now I'm wondering if I actually am the asshole here. Am I overstepping by telling my sister that I don't think she should stay with him or is she ignoring some pretty obvious red flags?

Nostalgia! I was obsessed with this photoshoot as a kid

I think this was for Glamour magazine 2009 (don't quote me on it). I still have the second picture as a poster in my room almost 16 years later. Idk what it was; the dress, the hair, the lips...but I was SOLD.

Photos from Pinterest and Google!

Edit: grammar

Found an interesting critique of Plath. Would love to hear your rebuttals.

I came across an article titled "Reading Sylvia Plath Doesn't Make You a Radical, Babes," which critiques Plath's place in feminist discourse and argues that she's often elevated as a symbol of white feminism.

I'm not posting this because I necessarily agree with it, I was just curious how those who know Plath's work well would respond. What arguments do you think the author gets right, and where do you think they miss the mark?

I'd love to hear your rebuttals.

The article itself is written by a black woman. I'm black myself, and I disagree with the writer with most of what she said:

"sylvia plath is another venerated to something like a God by the bookish white thinker. her work is just as demoralising to engage with. the bell jar is not only so laden with violent racism, it astounds me to imagine how plath would react to seeing her book in my black hands ('dusky as a bleached-blonde negress' was a description that stuck out to me in particular, as did the way esther physically assaults the black man who serves her dinner at the mental health institution she finds herself in), but it is also a novel that is almost masturbatory in its self-involvement politically."

Thoughts?

Is studying SW in Australia worth it?

Hello everyone,

I have an undergraduate degree in Social Work from my home country but I'm wondering if pursuing my master's in this field in Australia is worth it?

I read it is one of Australia's most in-demand fields of work. What's SW in Australia like? Is there opportunities to go into policy or research with a masters in SW?

Are scholarships available for PGDips?

I managed to find scholarships i can apply for as an international student taking up a masters degree, but are there scholarships for those who apply for Post Graduate Diplomas?

I'd like to confirm before I apply for mine.

Geographical luck

Today I had to withdraw an application because I couldn't afford traveling into a different city for Assessment Centre. I'm a fresh graduate and it fucking sucks because I really wanted this grad program.

Anyways, they only way to travel there is by plane and that alone costs a fortune in my country. Besides that, I have to pay for my accommodation and meals and my transportation.

If your in a country where opportunities like these are accessible, be grateful.

What song is about YOU?

And I don't mean your favorite song. I don't mean a song you relate to. I don't even mean a song that reminds you of a certain phase of your life.

I mean a song that feels like Taylor somehow read your diary, stalked your life for six months, and then wrote a track about it.

Which song is it?

Personally for me it's Mirrorball. Growing up with a mother who only ever smiled when I achieved something that made her look good to her friends, siblings, and in-laws, I learned to be a different character in every person's story. Never the real me. Just the version everyone needs. I've never been a natural, but I do try try try.

How to write a heroine from another time period?

Hi!

I've never written a protagonist from the early 20th century before and was hoping for some advice.

My FMC lives in 1905. Do you have any tips for writing her inner dialogue so that it feels authentic to the period without sounding overly formal or difficult for modern readers?

I'm especially interested in vocab, thought patterns, and how people of that era might view things like family, class, romance, and everyday life.

Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Swiftie in Papua New Guinea

I found this video of people celebrating in my home country of Papua New Guinea!

I swear they'd be the loudest crowd if she put on a concert there! Pacific Islanders know how to vibe!
