Replica and Fake are very different legal entities

A **fake** is a knock-off of a genuine watch presented as genuine. i.e, you bought a fake. You were deceived.

A **replica** is a knock-off of a genuine watch that is presented as a rep.

A **fake Rolex** is a knock-off of a genuine Rolex that is presented as genuine.

A **replica Rolex** is a knock-off of a genuine Rolex that is presented as a rep.

A **Frankenstein** means official parts from different models have been combined to make the watch.

An **Aftermarket** watch means it's an official watch with non-official parts replaced on some of its components.

A **homage** is a watch that closely resembles another brand's design.

Person A sells a replica to Person B. Person B knows it isn't legit. Between them the sale is not deceptive. Person A can only get into trouble for selling replicas.

Person A sells a fake to person B. Person B got swindled. The sale was deceptive. Person A can get into trouble for selling a fake.

It's like a painting. If you have a copy of the Mona Lisa it's a replica. If you try to sell it as the original then you are selling fakes.

Is the Myakka Skunkape an Urangutan?

The Myakka ape head closeup Copyright 2001 by David Barkasy and Loren Coleman. Compared with a Sumatran Orangutan's head, photograph at the Cincinnati Zoo by Denise McQuillen, 1999;

You can read about the Myakka Skunkape here

https://www.singularfortean.com/singularjournal/2017/9/14/the-2001-myakka-skunk-ape-photographs

Many years ago, I read how someone had spotted features associated with an ape, an Oranutan, on a free website. I found it again. https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/1626858/posts

Tony Scheuhamme, a biologist with the Canadian Wildlife Service, pointed out some features on a good photograph of an orangutan by Denise McQuillen. This is not to say the Myakka photographs are of an orangutan, but it certainly assists in identifying features that are found on a known anthropoid that appear to exist on this one too.

Also check out their dentition. 4 canines that look like fangs also in the skunkape picture.

Did someone lose an orangutan? The plants are Sabal minor. It is not uncommon to find them planted at zoos but they are common to Florida also.

To help From's superfans I have a ready-made reply list. Add your own.

  • You hate the actor personally.
  • You are too stupid to understand it. From is 4D chess.
  • OMG, don't watch it then.
  • Your feedback is not constructive.
  • All shows do this.
  • You forgot half the story.
  • No, it's not going to be like a dollar store "Lost".
  • You don't understand the purpose of mystery in a story.
  • You need to put the pieces together yourself, not get spoodfed.
  • The producers told Harold Perrineau it won't be like "Lost".
  • Leaving it all open to fan theory and head lore is a valid finish.
  • My upcoming Podcast will explain everything.
  • My upcoming YouTube channel will explain everything.
  • The explanations will be on the bonus discs that come with the signed special editions.
  • You are missing stuff. You need to rewatch all of S1, S2, and S3 and recommend it to your friends. If you play it on repeat you get special dream reveals at night.
  • You know nothing about art.
  • Just watch one more episode and you will see.

Just do a Justice Society movie with Brosnan/Fate already!

Pierce Brosnan as Fate again and it will sell itself. How hard can this be? Everybody who didn't like Black Adam still says they liked Brosnan as Fate and would watch a film with him. Just go back a few years before Black Adam for a JS movie. People will be saying 'Take my money!!'

A very Spielberg Spielberg movie

I grew up with Spielberg and saw ET in the theatre when it came out. Disclosure Day is definitely the most Spielberg movie Spielberg has done this side of Jurassic Park. The closest he has come to that was Minority Report but even War of the Worlds didn't quite feel like Spielberg for the film's second half. Disclosure Day is Spielberg on Spielroids. Everything you want from classic Spielberg is here. There isn't a second that goes by which doesn't feel like you are back to when Spielberg was making SF and action masterpieces. It's a massive nostalgic trip. It's hard to believe in 2026 you can be made to feel like you are watching a Spielberg film from the 80s or early 90s in the cinema again. Yet that is precisely what it feels like. So many millennials and Gen Z will not understand this but they really should experience this on the big screen. Take your older kids to see it. It's like ET or Close Encounters but with a 12s certificate for a few intense scenes. Make no mistake though that it's aimed at being a family film and doesn't get overly complicated. It stays in a simpler lane and does have its flaws but you don't care really because in a way it's the Spielberg film you have wanted him to make again for such a long time. This is it. It's here. Go see it big. It's worth it.

Some important notes for people who might not get some things in the film.

  • The aliens are guiding Margaret and Daniel and Hugo. Once you forget that plot device nothing will make sense. Look at how Margaret first encounters Daniel in adulthood.
  • The CGI animals are avatars and are supposed to look a bit unreal.
  • Wardex can't afford to create a scene and say this during the meeting with the generals. Casper Boyd goes rogue at times and does create a scene. Scanlon holds him back.

Deux Ex Machina

I stopped before halfway through Season 4 because I don't think the show's makers are able to explain everything organically and that the show is leaning strongly towards a deux ex machina with the MIY, a very artificial supernatural character who can do anything and become anything and therefore 'answer' everything. I would be dissatisfied with that and it would be extremely polarizing because it wouldn't have to answer anything deeply. The answer to everything from tent dragging to reincarnation would be "because the MIY is magical." It is no different from the Deux Ex Machina endings to Greek plays where Zeus appears in the final act, saves the day and resolves all conflicts and mysteries because it was him all along. Is there any reason at the end of Season 4 to think this will not be the case?

The Star Wars generation that missed Empire

Were you part of the generation that watched Star Wars and Return to the Jedi but not The Empire Strikes Back?

For many younger Gen X children, especially those born in the latter 1970s, which includes myself, the original Star Wars trilogy was experienced out of order. We were too young to catch The Empire Strikes Back when it first appeared in cinemas in 1980, but old enough to see Return of the Jedi during its 1983 theatrical release.

By then, we had already discovered the first Star Wars at home on tape, but Empire had not yet reached home video. In the early 1980s, videotape releases were still slow, expensive, and carefully controlled by studios worried about rentals, piracy, and lost box-office income.

As a result, this small but distinct slice of late Generation X, The Empire Strikes Back became the missing middle chapter, the film we knew about, but had not yet actually seen.

Does anyone here remember that?

Disposable/throw away/one use sub

I wonder if his business model would have been feasible if he could find clients to pay for the cost of a new sub for each dive. Since he figured out the build for a single run he wouldn't need to invest in R&D much after. So how much roughly would each passenger have to pay for a business model like that?

The reason China got so good with reps is because of Luxury watch outsourcing

I don't think the Chinese independently just got so innovative one morning that they started rolling out 1:1 replicas (at least as far as looks and materials are concerned). It seems to me that luxury watch groups have had China do some parts for them or else the Swiss wouldn't have had to come up with laws that basically say only 60% of the manufacturing costs have be in Switzerland to call a watch Swiss. It looks like they have had the Chinese do parts of a watch based on their specifications and eventually so many different parts of these watches were done in China at different times that the Chinese ended up with entire plans for entire watches by basically bringing all these separate manufacturing specs together. It's like, okay let's make one piece for the luxury watch group and one piece for us. One for you, one for me. I just don't buy this idea that the Chinese simply came up with the very same processes to make the same things. Even Luxury groups obviously learned from each other. Its not like they reinvented the wheel each time. I could be wrong but just because there is a video of some onsite production from start to finish of a luxury watch doesn't mean they have to keep doing it that way when the cameras are off. I didn't really buy into the whole china makes luxury watches stuff that came out earlier this year as it looked a bit like AI was involved but I am still not convinced that isn't what is actually happening.

Shield oversized sunglasses with happy colors recommendations

I'm looking to get some men's oversized type shield sunglasses for when I go walking out in the bright hot sun. By oversized I mean like ski sized. I'm also looking for something with a tint that has more warm colors than just the standard darker ones. I need something that's going to help improve my mood. Any suggestions for the type of glasses I am describing?

Stuck on Capitol Level 8 and can't message clan leader

I read somewhere that if you are stuck on Capital level 8 and without enough resources, to join a better clan. However I have found that if the clan contacts you after requesting to join, that you can't reply to them because you're not at level 9. So it's a catch 22. How can I progress from here? It seems it's going to take forever to get the resources I need.

Best book about Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay, and the first ascent of Everest?

I read Into Thin Air and thinking about it made me want to go back and read more about the early history of Everest.

What would people here recommend as one of the best books about Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay, and the 1953 first ascent of Mount Everest? If it included previous attempts that would be a bonus.

I’m especially interested in something well-written, historically reliable, and not too dry. First-hand accounts would be great, but I’m open to biographies or broader histories too.

I have High Adventure by Hillary on my list but it doesn't seem as popular as many other books on the subject. I could be wrong though and that is the one to read.

Theory 11 The Dark Knight counterfeit fakes?

I think I got some counterfeit cards instead of Theory 11 originals. There are lots of tells like size, misprints on the case, blank inside the case lip, no raised printing on the box and I haven't even looked at the cards yet. Feels and looks nothing like my other theory 11 cards. I am nearly sure these are fakes unless someone here can tell me otherwise for some reason I don't know about.

Rep wearers who spend their time orbiting gen wearers while repeating the idea that rep wearers are deluded are actually trapped in a strange contradiction. They are trying to gain status from the very hierarchy their own choices undermine, distancing themselves from the rep world while still belonging to it, and validating the gen crowd’s contempt as if borrowing that contempt somehow exempts them from it. In other words, they become participants in their own dismissal, performing superiority over a group they have not actually left. But... that only works if you assume that wearing reps automatically means rejecting the gen hierarchy. It isn’t always. Some rep wearers know exactly what the hierarchy is, understand why gens carry status, and still choose reps for cost, access, curiosity, or enjoyment. Calling certain rep wearers deluded does not necessarily mean they are trying to escape their own category. It can simply mean they are criticizing the specific people who pretend there is no difference, no status signal, or no imitation involved. In that sense, they are not performing superiority over rep wearers as a whole; they are drawing a line between self-aware rep wearers and fantasy-driven rep wearers.

Edit: There is some confusion, so I will explain it simply. Just wear the f**king watch and be happy about it.
