Just curious if you feel that AI is worth all of the issues that come with it

Battery drain on smart devices, personal data storage, personal data safety, huge data centers being built worldwide, water and electricity consumption for data centers, the loss of true creativity, etc

What does having AI do to improve your quality of life beyond what it was before the AI boom?

Why is AI so important to you?

This isn’t a troll post, and I’m not trying to stir the shit. I am genuinely curious as to what you feel.

I wish companies made wider gauge studs for lobes.

Most studs are 16 gauge.

I currently have 4gauge clicker hoops, and I wish I could put studs in without having to gauge way down

Anyone else feel this way? Or have any suggestions?

Here is what gets me with Amazon…

I ordered a few shirts on June 1st. All were sold and shipped by Amazon

Most were delivered on June 3rd (two separate packages), except for one that said it would take longer.

I just checked the shipping details on that last shirt. It wasn’t even shipped from the Amazon warehouse facility until June 5th! And the last update was that it left another Amazon facility on June 6th. It is scheduled to arrive on June 10th.

Nine days to receive an item that was in stock.

They purposely held back shipping of an in stock item for four days!!

I paid $150 to renew my Prime membership recently. When I originally signed up, it was around $90.

I RARELY get an item the next day. Most of the time it is two days at a minimum. Average is around three days.

I completely understand that fuel costs have risen dramatically. But this was happening even before the costs started going up.

Add to that the fact that the product prices have also risen.

Their business model is no longer giving priority to consumers.

It is beyond frustrating

So for years Alexa would allow me to thumbs up, or thumbs down, a song that was playing. Years!

Then about a year or more ago, Alexa couldn’t do this. She would say that this feature was only available on custom stations. Which pissed me off because this never was the case before.

Fast forward to today…I am in our garage, which has an Echo Dot that my brother allowed it to switch to Alexa+ (or whatever they call it). So for shits and giggles I ask it to thumbs up a song that was playing

Not only did Alexa reply that my feedback was save (which was her old reply when performing this action), but she also announced the artist, and the name of the song!! INCREDIBLE!!!

I was so amazed!!

So I tried it a few times with different stations, and different reactions (thumbs up/thumbs down), and it works perfectly. It was a momentous moment!

So I came in the house, and tried it on the devices set with old Alexa, and she couldn’t do it. Said it wasn’t available to do. Couldn’t even tell me what song was playing. Did not even know music was playing!!!

Has anyone else experienced this?

Right after I posted this, Alexa stopped being able to perform this function.

I have no idea what changed in that 20 minutes, but we are back to no thumbs up or down

I have noticed in many photos, guys are wearing their necklaces with the clasp to the side so that it shows.

Is this a new thing?

I always thought that you wore their clasp to the back of your neck, so that it wasn’t seen

I am running a 13PM with iOS 26.5, and when I am away from WiFi my cellular data is extremely slow. I mean SLOW

Is there anything that I can do to get this back to working as normal as it used to be? I never had any issues before.

I do not leave my home very often, so I didn’t realize how bad this issue actually is.

I tried to place a food order, and paid with PayPal, and it literally took 15-20 minutes for it to all go through. The opening of each screen was in super slow motion

In complete honesty, I wear two. An Apple Watch on my left wrist, and a Fitbit on my right. I have worn them both ever since my open heart surgery in 2018. Never a day without them. The only days I missed was when I have been in the hospital.

It has grown to the point that I have become agoraphobic, because I am waiting for something to happen. I do not go anywhere that isn’t absolutely a necessity.

I now realize that I am addicted to these devices in a negative way, but I am terrified to be without them.

I stopped wearing Fruit of the Loom in my mid teens, and wore Hanes until my early thirties (I am now almost 60).

I don’t remember why I switched to other brands.

My question is, does society look down on guys who wear those brands, when they see the waistbands? Is it more acceptable to have a more “fashionable” name on your waistband?

One of my favorite shantung hats shrunk a little after I let it dry while it was soaked with sweat

I just went to the DelMonico Hatter website, and I was unable to shop for hats like I normally do.

There is a message that said something about a new and improved experience “coming soon!”, but I have seen the same message for months now.

Did DelMonico go out of business? Or did they give up their online store?

I loved DelMonico as an online source, and purchased many hats from them. Come to think of it, all of my Stetson fedoras came from them.

I have noticed lately that when I search for a specific hat, the website shows that almost every size is sold out. And it has been like that for months.

They also have discontinued several popular styles.

I worry that the future of Bailey/Bollman Hat Company is in trouble.

I watched the entire season over the past few weeks, and watched the finale last night.

I don’t think I have ever seen a shows finale where I felt the tears flowing from the actors were as real and true as the tears rolling down my own cheeks. Such genuine love, emotion, and sense of family/friends/community.

I am the type of person who becomes very emotionally attached when watching a long tv series, and this show was one of the most difficult to say goodbye to. Here I am almost 24 hours later, and I can still feel the raw emotion. I actually felt depressed all day, because I feel like I said goodbye to my closest friends last night. Hell I am tearing up now as I type this

I know many people have also written about their experiences finishing this show, so I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I just wanted to share my thoughts and emotions with the people who would truly understand what I am feeling.
