*Updated - The seller's agent is bent out of shape that we even asked for it and thinks it's completely inappropriate. Made it clear to our agent to remind the other agent to mind her unprofessional attitude, and that we're the buyers, I'm not above advocating for what's best for us. Incidentally, they had a different roofer out from the seller's side who also told them the roof needs replacing and is beyond repair.

Inspection found two major issues:

Roof: Needs full replacement. Existing asphalt shingles are installed over the old wood shingles, and the inspector says all layers need to be removed and the roof resheathed when replaced.

AC: 24 years old and performing poorly. During the inspection, it ran for about 90 minutes and only lowered the house temperature by 1 degree. HVAC quote is for replacement.

We’ve been quoted upwards of $30k total for the roof and AC.

The seller is already giving us credits toward closing costs, so asking for additional closing credits isn’t really an option, as they'll be unusable.

We decided to submit an inspection request asking the seller to replace both the roof and AC before closing, using licensed contractors. We’re not asking them to fix every minor issue in the inspection.

Our realtor thinks asking for both may be pushing it and suggested focusing on the roof, but we think we should at least ask for both and let the seller counter rather than negotiate against ourselves.

Little side note on this: the sellers are buying a house that our realtor is also selling, so if this falls through, it affects our real estate agent's commission.

We really want the house and aren’t looking to kill the deal.

Does asking for both sound reasonable, or would you expect the buyer to absorb the cost of the AC replacement?

So when I take Adderall I feel superhuman. I go from an introverted, introspective person, to full of life, joy, able to have conversations, and go from depressed to joyful. It just feels like I’m cheating. I’ve stopped taking the meds for 10 months because of this guilt. It almost feels like the limitless drug for those that have seen the movie.

The issue is the crash, it spirals me into depression and low mood, exacerbating my already low moods. So I’ve gone from taking it for focus, to actually taking it to get me out of low moods. I just can’t work out what is normal anymore.

I’m on 30mg.

I did the Polestar Optimisation via Orbit, and now when I select that mode, it's an absolute rocket. Am I imagining it, or has it really optimised it just as they would have at Volvo?

I could be wrong but I really feel we need another forward. What are some options people would like to see join us?

Delap has been crap at Chelsea, but is that just the Chelsea curse, could he come in and do a job?

Elanga isn’t an out and out forward, but would we take him back to score goals?

Which falls under the range and manufacturing year and chassis number listed on the technical journal here: NHTSA REF NO: TJ 34222.1.4:

I received an email back today acknowledging that it is still active; however, my chassis number doesn't fall within the range.

We reviewed the VIN you provided (**********G1091034) and confirmed that your vehicle's chassis number falls outside of the applicable range identified in Technical Journal TJ34222. As a result, your vehicle is not eligible for the complimentary upgrade described in that publication.

Am I missing something? I've emailed them back to check again.

Anybody in Twin or surrounding area have a OBD to USB cable I can borrow?

I’m hoping someone here has been through this recently.

I’ve got a 2016 XC90 T8 Inscription with the original single USB port, so no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

I’ve been doing some digging and found Volvo Technical Journal TJ34222, which says eligible 2016 XC90s can have the USB hub upgraded along with Smartphone Integration.

From everything I’ve found, my VIN falls within the published eligibility range, and my car still has the original single USB port, so it looks like the retrofit has never been done.

I’ve also noticed Volvo’s U.S. website still mentions a complimentary Smartphone Integration upgrade for eligible 2016 models with one USB port.

So has anyone actually had this done recently? Did Volvo still cover it, or did you have to pay?

Looking at buying a 2016 Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription with 117,000 miles for $13,500.

The Carfax shows regular maintenance, and the seller has invoices showing:

• Aug 2024 (103k miles): ERAD and hybrid clutch replaced.
• Nov 2024 (105k miles): High-voltage battery replaced.
• Feb 2025 (106k miles): Volvo dealer 4G telematics upgrade completed.
• Apr 2025 (107k miles): Four new Pirelli Scorpion tires and four-wheel alignment.

Everything appears to be documented, and I'll attach the invoices.

Would you buy it for $13,500? Does having these major repairs already completed make an early T8 a safer buy, or are there still expensive issues I should be budget for?

So my wife and I are plan on submitting our N400 in Feb 2028, but we have three kids, my eldest will turn 18 in Dec 2028, what happens if processing still hasn’t completed by the time he’s 18? I know my youngest kids will naturalize through our N400, but does that put him in a weird limbo?

I just wanted to ask about people’s experiences with naturalisation and being out of the country for 10 months while on a Greencard.

I will be seeking legal advice once the time comes for us to petition using N400, but I would like to hear people’s experiences and maybe find out if there’s hope for our situation.

I’m aware there’s things I could have done better so please don’t criticise how I ended up in this situation.

We received our Greencards in August 2023, and lived happily in the US, at the end of 2024 my father in law passed away and we went to Australia in 2025 to help my MIL. We always intended to return to the USA once my MIL felt more settled. Well we’re returning and will have been out of the US for 10 months. I’m aware this breaks the 5 year presence test, but that sometimes they do a RFE for us to prove that we never intended to leave the US. The two things in my favour, we filled taxes, I have death certificate of my FIL, and I secured a new contract in April 2026 in the US ready for our return. I should have done more research and now I’m kicking myself as naturalisation is something we really want to pursue once it becomes available.

So, any hope or experiences from people?

I recently replaced my Elite 2 controller using Microsoft's extended warranty process. They have sent a replacement device that is dirty (with food in the stick area), has a cracked grip, and has damaged rubber where it has split; it looks like it was dropped. The rubber is also coated in white wax.

I've tried contacting MS, but their AI just keeps pushing me back to irrelevant information. Any advice would be super helpful.

So, we’re moving back to the US in a few weeks. Super excited. However, I want to hear from people what we should consider buying in Australia before heading to the US, from clothing to electronics. Particular items that are hard to obtain or cheaper in Australia than ‘Merica!

For example, we’re buying UGG boots as they’re half the cost of buying them in the US.

Before anyone moans at me I’ve searched reddit and the info is inconclusive.

How does my current Xbox Ultimate Gamepass transfer to the ROG Ally X? Do I have to buy a seperate pass? I’m aware that the Ally is a PC and not an Xbox and that the games will only cross platform if they’re listed as Anywhere.

Any tips before purchasing a device, I’m leaning towards the Ally X vs the basic one.
