If you do this, you're a shmuck.

I got snagged on some random line, ended up pulling in about 20-30 yards of line with a real nice Mepps still tied on.

WHO CUTS OFF THIS MUCH LINE?!

Why do you cut off any line at all? Learn how to properly snap your line when your snagged.

Either way, I did use that Mepps to catch this cute little cat.

All police officers should be required to wear body cameras 100% of the time.

While on duty.

If an officer has a gun, they should be required to have an active camera, and they shouldn't even have the ability to turn it off.

Their authority to police should also be directly tied to the camera. If the camera is active, they have no legal authority to conduct any police business.

If they have to use the restroom, or if they are on break they can remove the camera, but in those moments they have zero legal authority.

Its crazy that almost every state, city, town, and road has a Flock camera, but not all police have body cameras.

For the doms, Police =/= Politics. Police is a public safety matter.

All races can be racist, even to their own race.

Doesn't matter what a person's race is, they can also be a racist.

The argument that racism is only perpetuated by "those in power" is stupid. The dynamic of which "race" is in power is entirely dependent on time and location.

White people can be racist.

Black people can be racist.

Yellow people can be racist.

Brown people can be racist.

Red people can be racist.

Camo-colored people can be racist.

For the mods... this is clearly not a racist post, but a post about racism.

Google Sheets is superior to Microsoft Excel

For 99% of tasks Google Sheets rocks the socks off of Excel.

It's simple to use, it's feature strong, it's easy to collaborate, and with App Scripts the possibilities are nearly endless.

Anyone who still uses Excel needs to get with the times.

Newbie here! Heading to OBX tomorrow (Corolla, NC) and looking to do some surf fishing. Any recommendations?

I have a 12ft combo (Tsunami Spear) that I got last year at the Wall store. I had zero luck, but I'm trying again this year. I'm also bring a shorter 8ft and my telescopic travel rod.

Can anyone give me some ideas on what might be biting and what I should be using? I will also be hitting up the sound by the light house, so if you have any rec's for that area I'm all ears.

Question - If you find someone else's gear and nobody is around, how long are you waiting before taking it home with you? What is the proper etiquette for Finders-Keepers?

Question - You're at a popular fishing spot and find someone's gear, but nobody is around. Take it or leave it?

A couple days ago some guy on a bike stopped by to ask if this small bag he found was mine, I told him it wasn't.

20 min later he comes back and gives me the bag which had like $50 of tackle in it. Awesome for me, but DAMN that sucks for the other guy.

I continued to fish that spot for like 5 more hours and nobody came to claim it and I wasn't the one who found it, so I dont feel AS bad about it.

Edit: I did a little Googling and to everyone who says it's theft... YOU ARE RIGHT!

"Larceny by finding (also known as "theft by finding") is a legal concept where keeping lost or mislaid property without making a reasonable effort to locate the true owner is treated as a form of theft. Simply pocketing found items like a wallet or phone can lead to a criminal charge."

Edit: I was there from 10 to like 5-6pm.

Anyone interested in a group fishing trip/meet up in the area?

Looking to find some like-minded anglers in the area who want to make some fishing friends and possibly share their knowledge about how to best fish the local area.

Preferably in the NW burbs, but obviously the participants willingess to travel will dictate the area.

It would be a BYOB/BYOG (Bring Your Own Bait/Gear) thing. But if anyone has a kayak or canoe their willing to share, that world be dope.

If anyone is interested let me know!

ISO Fishing gear. New Angler looking to get started, figured I'd ask here.

If anyone has some excess fishing gear that isn't too old, I'd love to check it out. No preferences on type/style/ or brands (except "spincasters" none of those).

If you are interested please respond and I'll DM you. Obviously I would ask for some photos of the gear.

Thank you in advance!

Are you keeping what you catch? If so, what areas do you consider safe? (And what are you taking home?)

Growing up near the Fox River I've ALWAYS heard that the water was absolutely terrible and nobody should ever eat fish from there. Do yall think that's still the case?

Are there any areas that are known for having clean enough water that you would keep your catch?

My girl Aloe next to her younger cousins Atlas (grey) and Echo (orange).
