Im considering selling my ford ranger to buy a japanese awd suv/ hatchback for maybe around 6-8 thousand . What kind or car should i be looking into?

To give some background and context, i bought a truck in january a 2011 ford ranger xlt sport 4.0 v6 with 146xxx thousand miles currently on the dash for work. Im transitioning out of the trade i was in to go back to school hopefully by next January aswell as moving back home to my moms house . So i dont feel like it would make sense for me to keep the truck since i wont have use for it. Ill be going to school for a couple years and want to get something reliable to keep for atleast 5 years until i finish school. Im currently in socal if this helps . But looking to move to oregon after college . I enjoy camping and traveling alot as much as i can and id like to have something that can go on snow or offroad if needed. Something that i can camp in is also a plus so looking for something thats got decent room but not a deal breaker if i cant . I want a suv that gets really good gas mileage too. Something with minimal upkeep is a plus too but im slightly mechanically inclined so i can take care of maintenance myself easily. Id love to get a japanese car since there really relaible . I love Subarus but honestly im just clueless about which ones are good and which arent . Open to cars from other countries but Toyota, honda, mazda, subaru , are my top 4 id be looking into. If theres any more info needed please ask and ill gladly update my post on this form thank you guys.

Hi everybody :)! Im wondering what the best private colleges/ programs that are near portland/ vancouver WA for dental hygiene.

Im planning to stay in california to start and finish my pre-requisites for dental hygiene but wondering what would be the best option for my situation if i want to move to near Portland or Vancouver WA. My girlfriend is originally from Tigard so most likely would be moving back to that area but also open to vancouver wa if its a better option for getting into a school. What would you guys reccomend in my situation? Ive looked alot of concorde career college but the reviews on google look absolutely awful and i would want to avoid to go to a school that isnt the best for me , but i also dont know about getting into a public college like pcc or clark college. I did really horrible in highschool and even though that was 4 years ago this will be my first time going to school and really trying , and the criteria to get into a private school seems way more realistic to me then a community college unfortunately. Okay with paying since i think id be able to stack good money for the time being now and get help paying it off too . Id really appreciate it if anyone can help me in the right direction here :) cheers!

Soon to be Ex-pool guy (2 years exp) looking to pivot into a new career starting at $65k, scaling to $85k–$125k+ within a few years. Open to all industries. what are my best options?

22M in LA looking to pivot out of pool service. Want to move to Portland in 2 years. Trade/school/ career options?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working as a pool technician for the past two years. While it was my dream job initially, my perspective has drastically changed, and I am ready to transition into a new field. I’m completely clueless about what to do next and would love some guidance on trades, training programs, or 1–2 year schooling options.

Im leaving because i developed a severe rotator cuff tendonitis from repetitive brushing and shoulder work. I want to protect my body. I also just genuinely dread going to work now, and the low pay isn't worth the physical strain. Even if i became independent i feel like it wouldnt help even if i made upwards of 100,000 plus because its such a demanding job that i feel like im losing my life outside of work.

Heres what im currently looking for.

Work/Life Balance: A standard 30–40 hour work week. No crazy overtime.
Time Off: I value freedom to travel. I want a career that allows around 3 weeks of non-continuous time off per year for road trips and visiting family in Europe.
Environment: No desk jobs or sitting in an office all day. I am okay with some manual labor, but nothing back-breaking.
Stability: Ideally looking for a field with good benefits, stability, or a pension.
Timeline/Education: Willing to go to trade school or a training program for 1–2 years. I want to avoid 4–8 year degrees and massive debt.

I plan to move to Portland with my girlfriend in two years . So this career needs to be viable for portland .

Please tell me if theres any other information i can add that could be helpful! Thank you guys :)!

Looking to know if i should move to washington or oregon and where? Im set between somewhere near seattle or somewhere near portland.

To give more specifics about my situation, i live in los angeles currently and my girlfriend lives with me too. She moved from oregon to be with me but we realized we just dont really like the lifestyle over here much.

Were both really into the outdoors, love having four seasons , forests and lush countrysides and being able to drive close to mountains .

Im 22 . We make not alot of money but are in a lucky circumstance where were living in a family members house while there in a nursing home . So we dont pay any rent but still are struggling with COL .

Looking for something affordable is the biggest thing for me and her, but she wants to go back to portland since she grew up there and has family. I see that it is cheaper then living in washington but still want to just see where specifically we should live. I dont want to live in the city at all but dont want to be too far from it either to the point where its kind of a time burden to live .

IM trying to get my hands in some sort of trade or government or utility job , my girlfriend is looking to be in the dental / medical field eventually after more schooling and training .

Currently a pool tech and she doesnt have a job yet. My income isnt alot almost 25000 per year , but looking to make maybe up to 45-50 thousand after next year . Not interested in staying in the trade im in but its what is bringing me money and i have experience in so im sticking with it for now. Looking to move in 2-3 years max, aiming for 2028.

I love the cascades and i dont think id get tired of it
I love suburban and rural areas but id obviously be aiming to save up to just pay for a apartment on a 3-6 month payment advance and be in a apartment until me and my girlfriend hopefully make enough for a house.

Im really indifferent to both being near seattle or living near portland but really want to hear from other people what would be the best option for this situation. Definitely aiming towards more of portland

**EDIT for any clarification **
I am not looking to stay in the pool tech field, im aware there isnt pools over there and its not the field im interested in . But looking for a job that could have transferrable skills could be useful.

First time owner of a truck and first ranger and im wondering how i can maintain and upkeep my truck for it to last as long as possible.

I bought my first vehicle and truck 2 months ago a 2011 ford ranger 4.0 v6 xlt and am absolutely clueless about upkeep for vehicles but want to make sure im on top of servicing my vehicle since it has 146xxx miles already.

I just got a oil change and a family friend whose a mechanic checked it out for me and told me it didnt have any problems but i have no idea about the service history at all.

I also topped off the coolant and got washer fluid aswell.

Please let me know what i can do to prevent any problems or god forbid engine failure or transmission failure down the road.

what is it like to be an independent pool cleaner/ tech in portland / surrounding areas?

Im from california specifically the los angeles area and currently clean pools to make a living over here, but seriously considering moving over to there for a multitude of reasons .

• its too expensive for me to live here anymore • my girlfriend who lives with me is from portland • my brother is possibly moving to Vancouver city after college and id like to remain close to him • im super into nature, hiking, and just the overall weather is more in my favor in portland then in los angeles.

Theres alot more that i can think of but these are some of the main reasons as to why im considering moving there, but id love to know what its like to be a pool man out there.

I assume its a way different job because pools are presumably used seasonally but id love to know what that entails.

Do you guys work all year round?

What are your guys local liscencing requirements?

How do you handle winterization of pools? I assume id have to learn alot about that the most.

How is the debris in pools? Do you have to do alot more cleaning since theres way more lushness?

How does working in the rain affect you?

Does it cause alot of ph balances in pools?

How did you get started?

What is the demand for service like?

And finally how much do you make per year on average?

Looking for an opinion on a route i had in mind for a roadtrip.

Ive always wanted to do a pacific coast highway roadtrip from los angeles to Monterey, and ive spent a good amount of time trying to plan it but i wanted to know if its worth staying on the 1 the whole time or if i should just get on the 1 for the more “scenic parts” such as basically san simeon to carmel by the beach? Looking for any pointers and advice from anyone whose done it before!
