The last GREAT Kings defender?
This came up in another thread, but who would you consider the last GREAT defender who played for the Kings?
It can't be as far back as Christie, can it?

For those who played (or are playing) high school football, what's the one play from your playing career that you were involved in that will be stuck in your memory forever? Game, practice, anything.
I made a specific point in a response NOT to personally attack someone.
The mod lied and claimed I used a personal attack and suspended me a few days.
His response when I proved it wasn't a personal attack? He tried to FORCE me to apologize, and when I didn't, he threatened to block me more if I didn't do what he wanted.
When I pointed out his personal attack on me broke his own sub rules, he blocked me even more.
I have an old school Marantz 2170 turntable. Works great. I hooked it directly to my Denon receiver with a built-in preamp. Awesome! It sounds great! Then I read that an external preamp was the way to go. It would make everything even better. Bought a pretty decent Fosi preamp. Suddenly everything was WILDLY distorted. I figured it was just a bad preamp. Returned it for a Douk Audio model. Same issue! Everything's super muddy and distorted. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
ESPN just posted an article College football archenemies for every power-conference team. They listed USC as the Ducks archenemy?????
My man, we've won 6 of the last 7 and 8 of the last 10 - scoring 36 or more in 7 of those. They've won ONCE in LA against us in the last 17 years.
They're not an archenemy. They're basically a non-conference FBS for us at this point.
So who (beyond the obvious serial killer school up north) is really our archenemy?
Hey there. I just inherited a Marantz 6170 turntable that works pretty well, but has a few issues I'd love to get an opinion on:
- It's got the original cartridge. I was thinking of replacing it, but should I? And if so, what would be a mid-priced one you'd recommend
- I have the dust cover, but the hinges are gone. All I see online are $500 originals on Ebay (which seems insane). Anyone know of other hinges that will fit it? Nothing I've seen online looks like a match.
- Anything else I should know? Tips and tricks to make it sound its best?
Hey all. I just inherited a Marantz 6170 turntable in (mostly) good working order. But I was thinking of upgrading the cartridge. However I've had trouble online trying to find what would actually fit it. Anyone have any recommendations or a good source to identify what my options are?
Mine was a U14 tournament. The other team's assistant coach was coaching because the head coach had been thrown out of the tournament the game before for abusing the refs. This assistant coach was just as bad this game, and ended up running into the field and getting red carded. As he walked off, I started laughing and his wife ran up to me and flipped me off. I flipped her off back and the assistant coach went ballistic. Ran over to me, bumped me chest to chest a few times. Call me a "little f****t" and said he was going to kick my ass. I laughed in his face before some opposing team parents pulled him off.
Side note: After the game, one of our parents came over to ask what happened. As I was explaining it, one of the opposing team's 13-year-old players walked by, turned to me and said "F**k you." Huh... I wonder where they learned that from...?
I reported the incident to the league. They suspended the coach for 2 years. But 6 years later their club has still never shaken the label of being bad apples.
This year, Dante Moore will make more than LeBron James for playing sports.
Really great idea from Selley's Integrated Marketing group created with Howatson+Company.
Hey all, this sub is great, we're big fans. We appreciate the Mods letting us post about a new sub just for working copywriters to talk shop, commiserate, and share great copywriting. No 15-year-olds asking how to get a client. No scammy YouTube channel promising to teach you copywriting in 10 days. Just some fellow writers looking to hear from other fellow writers.
So hang out here, but we hope you'll come check us out too. Thanks!
"If it would sound weird saying it to a person, rewrite it... because you ARE saying it to a person."
That's what my copywriting teacher in college once told me and I think about that every day. I had someone in a meeting the other day say "This just needs more... marketing speak" and it made my skin crawl.
Modern Copywriter is a fantastic site. I learned about this years ago and I'm psyched it's still going. It's a great spot to get re-energized if you're in need of some creative inspiration.
Hey everyone! I'm u/Useful-Advantage-850, a founding moderator of r/WorkingCopywriters.
If you're tired of 15-year-olds posting "How do I make money copywriting?" or "I've had an agency for a month and can't get clients. What do I do?" then you've come to the right place!

How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/WorkingCopywriters amazing.
This video (and the original "I love my ducks" video) are legendary among Duck fans. What are some great fan-created hype videos for other schools? Post 'em!
My college-playing daughter loves the Adidas laceless models, but why are they all firm ground now? Seems like with artificial grass everywhere these days, the MG versions would be the ones in highest demand. Anyone know why they don't make more MG laceless models?
There's not a trade on this sub that doesn't get dunked on, but here goes...
Boston says they want a big man. They get one plus a great scorer off the bench. (Imagine their 2nd team with Monk and Pritchard...) Plus two legit firsts (with MIL rebuilding, that swap in 2030 could be really valuable) and a 2nd.
Portland gets an all-star to backcourt with Lillard and fits great with their current team/timeline.
Sac gets a couple young pieces to try out, a vet PG who can show Acuff the ropes, and a late 1st they wanted to get for Sabonis.
So much talk about their 1st pick. What about the other two? Any favorites?
I'm liking Baba Miller and a strong rebounding big man (especially if Sabonis gets traded). And I like Ryan Conwell from Louisville. Good overall shooter.
One of the favorites in my HoF rookies collection.
