Traindrivers - do you go on autopilot?

Might sound stupid but when I drive my car for 2hr I don't necessarily remember every turn or signal I make. I don't crash but I feel like I zone out and listen to music but my brain does autopilot and steers for me and I get to my destination safely. So I wonder would I be able to drive a train or would this also happen and is that bad. How much does your brain go into auto pilot vs actively conscious of every AWS or signal or whatever?

Cracks in individual bricks. Not mortar.

Noticed this on the house around the bottom. Only noticed in one area and about 6 bricks affected but they aren't touching eachother they are 4 bricks apart each one.

Bad? Normal? House is maybe 60y old and not really maintained. Think damp proof layer is not good either and a lintel on other side of property failing (elderly relative, doesn't care about fixing anything).

Phoning and keeping in touch with family.

I don't know why I always have to be the one to make phone calls 'to keep in touch'.

I used to like to call my grandad because he was a good listener and gave good advice, I really miss him. But he would say I should call my mother more (we're estranged now).

She NEVER called me. The last time she did, it was to ask about my grandmother (I think she wanted inheritance, they are estranged too). She didn't ask about me at all.

Now my dad (who I was estranged with but have been in contact for last 15 years, but very sparse contact) has cancer. He would call me literally a couple of times a year.

I had a missed call 2 weeks ago when I was sleeping and for some reason it didn't show up on my missed calls and I only noticed when it showed up on my cars dashboard as missed call. Anyway he called me again and I was able to answer and he told me the news and now he is going for surgery.

But then I asked him to let me know how he gets on afterwards, and he said he won't be taking his phone into hospital (?!). He is very old school and some ADHD and Dyslexic traits and doesn't use the internet effectively so basically SMS and phone calls are what he does.

So now I need to rely on my aunt (who also is bad at communicating with me - I have her on facebook messenger, even though I said she could add me to whatsapp, but she hasn't yet), to hopefully update me on the situation OR get in touch with my [not really related but kind of stepsister] for an update. I'm not sure how she would know because she apparently had a holiday booked during this week, I don't think it's appropriate I should contact her while on holiday to ask how my dad is doing? My dad agreed with her he could give me her number, although at first he gave the number minus 1 digit, which I had to explain that phone numbers have 11 not 10 digits, but he did correct the number (I did say he's possibly dyslexic).

Anyway this is just a stressful situation because I don't know if I should visit him while he's in hospital (5 day recovery period), because he said he'll look terrible and feel terrible and so probably doesn't want visitors, but my aunt will likely go to visit, and you know how the neurotypical response is to say they dont' want something but actually they want it. Also it may look bad if I do not visit even though he implied it's not necessary.

This is another thing, he did not say DO NOT visit me in hospital. He just made implications that I shouldn't.

NB. I don't need any sympathy for my dad having cancer, it was self inflicted, that's not the issue. It's the communication that is frustrating me.

I want to like it but it hurts my eyes

It's not like I can only play modern games, I've replayed games from 1998 that I can enjoy though they aren't top down.

I just find I'm straining my eyes to try and see what the buildings and units are, I'm also finding the units like crates and work bench hard to understand, when there's arrows pointing on it but I'm just playing the demo so figuring it out.

I find it intriguing the supposed level of detail in the civilization management but I'm struggling. Any advice?

Which trackballs have onboard macro storage?

I have a very locked down work computer. I can use my own device but no software can be installed.

My gaming mouse has some buttons I can remap in software on my other PC then use it on my work PC (assigning things like copy/paste to functions really speeds up my work).

Is there any trackballs that have this? What I can tell Elecom doesn't do this. Do logitechs or any other brand? I understand it's probably not that important for most people as they'll just rely on the software.

Can I buy steam games with VPN or do I need to use 3rd party key places

Snowrunner 5y bundle is like £40 instead of £70 if I buy in UK. I'm sure I bought a game before in dollars on steam, (but maybe it was cd keys). I have VPN but then steam logged in and told me I'm not in Kazkstan.

Sadly the key websites don't sell a bundle option only the individual each year keys which add up to more than £70 that steam offers me.

Can I make a new account in kazakstan and gift my normal steam account or is some way to make this happen? Am I being too greedy?

How to purchase

So I've played the precursor to this and the expeditions.

But this game, I will like it for sure but the cost looks like £150 because of so many season pass and then extra dlc. Then I see recently there's still dlc coming out so is there an ultimate edition i can wait for on sale or is my best bet looking for game keys online and maybe set me back £70. I havent paid this much aside from Farm Simulator.

Carbon monoxide?

Do they have alarms because I feel like they could easily fall asleep or not get enough ventilation, especially in winter and even smouldering fires can reduced your oxygen... i also don't notice chimneys in a lot of shelters. Is that normal or just not showing us the whole thing?

NORDVPN is 'too much'

It's coming up to that renewal time and I'm thinking should I go somewhere else (I've had NORD for 5 years at this point. I just find it's doing a lot, lots of anti malware (which I have no evidence it's better than what's already on my device), trying to push lots of features, also trying to upsell me in the middle of contract for other services.

I might try something like Proton for a while and see if there's any difference.

I also read about 'streaming' with these VPN but when I tried to use netflix, netflix would give errors because of the VPN IP, same for BBC Iplayer it gets blocked when trying to access it with a VPN. So those are the only down points I have honestly. Any thoughts that NORD Is trying to be a bit bloated as a VPN app?

EDIT: LOL people aren't reading my post properly, not the cost of renewal is too much, I mean the application is bloated and a lot of feature that I don't want on it. Finding code for discount is easy and affordable for me.

Met Police Crypto Scam

Had a call from the 'Met Police Shepherds Bush' cyber crime unit, British normal sounding person. Long call about 15 minute. The jist of it was that they arrested a guy who had 100 odd names and financial details, this wasn't the lead investigator, just a guy calling numbers doing some checks.... He did ask if this is [my name] when I answered. Then he was talking about ledgers (which is a crypto usb stick thing), and asking if I had binance or coinbase (jokes on him-binance doesn't operate in the UK anymore). I said I got rid of it all because it sucked and lost me money. Then he said the guy they arrested was Yusef Mohammed, and then asked if I associate with any islamic people??? I said I work with some?! Then said that criminals can kidnap and ransome people for their cryptocurrency. Asked if I noticed anything suspicious on my computer or on my phone, or strange emails etc. I said I get indian scammers calling me saying they're from O2 all the time, and that I just talk to them and waste their time.

I said I know all about security and 2 factor and vpns and things. He did say criminals can order E-sims and then use my number without me knowing (haven't heard of that before).

I was surprised they didn't try to escalate and ask me to send them money.

Then ended the call and said they can give me a crime reference number "MET 4800 xxx xxx" and his name, then I asked for badge number and he said MET 482 and hung up.

Until the end it did sound a very genuine call. Maybe there's meant to be a part 2 where they escalate and then ask me to transfer all my money to them.

Anyone else worried about the Orbanians after SG1 meddled with their society?

Like come on, they were creating all this advanced reactor technology and rapid education system, and then SG1 comes by and teaches them to draw stick figures? This seems like a sure fire way for the society to get side tracked and develop terrible things like 'video games' and 'social media'. Goa'uld will easily conquer them after this.

Did the Goa'uld edit the stargate symbol from the Beta gate design?

So after watching the episode with the beta gate, it and the DHD has a different symbol for Earth, however the original gate has the symbol for earth looking like a pyramid (assuming because of Ra), plus all the DHD in the galaxy must have this symbol for earth.

So, did Goa'uld place the current star gate system, after stealing ancient technology, or did the ancients decide to change the earth symbol. I'm a bit confused about this part.

Leicester Square Royal Box seating?

I want to see the 70mm Disclosure Day and since this is the only option in the UK I want to know what to expect from the seats. I don't mind paying extra for "royal box" but I can't find actual pictures of what it looks like from the seat and how the seats are better than others. Anyone been here and had experience which seats work best for them?

C35 camera motion detection help!

We bought this for the corner of the house to watch a yard space and car. We could only place it where the camera will see some of the road where cars drive.

I used the Activity Zone feature and drew a box only around the yard and car so it should only trigger when something is in this zone right? But no, every single car that drives past it gets tripped. The only thing I can think of is that it's due to reflections on my car from the cars passing (metallic paint).

Any thoughts? I turned the battery to optimal and the sensitivity down to the lowest setting. Very frustrated about this. I did select 'all motion' because the other eufy doorbell cam we have doesn't reliably detect humans.

So I can force the solution in the app but I want to know the next logical step. Very stuck at this point.
