Revenge against angry customer

I am a bus driver. A while back I had a customer board with her child and boyfriend. They had a bicycle with them, and tried to bring it aboard. I told them they needed to use the bike rack, as it was empty and available and I already had a full bus.

The mother did not take this well. She started screaming at me that she was allowed to bring the bike on board. She called me several homophobic slurs (in front of her child no less) and then threatened to physically assault me.

I ended up calling a supervisor and he came in and got her to calm down. He told her if she acts up again, he's going to have her removed.

Fast forward to today. I'm driving on the same route and just passed a stop. I see her running towards the bus waving for me to stop. I kept on driving. My bus is the only one operating in the area for the rest of the night. Feels good.

To clarify, if she was at the stop I would have stopped. I'm not a monster. But when it's entirely up to my discretion? Nah, I'm not going out of my way to do you a favor.

Update: The boyfriend/husband got on my bus later and he apologized to me for her behavior. Turns out he's a super nice guy.

People who are late for the bus because they try to arrive at the stop AT departure time

I just don't understand this mindset. I am a bus driver, so I'm obviously biased. But I can assure you I encounter this on a constant basis. The amount of times I'll be approaching a bus stop and I see someone running from half a block away is staggering.

The bus schedule was posted months, if not years ago (for some routes) and yet people still can't get to the stop on time. The bus GPS data is linked to Google Maps in my area, so people will see that the bus is running late by two minutes, and they'll say to themselves "oh good, I can leave the house two minutes later."

No. That's not how the bus schedule works. Departure time is not the time you're supposed to get line of sight on the bus stop. It's the time where you're supposed to already be ON the bus, fare paid and sitting.

It's just crazy how often I'll be sitting at a layover, often over ten minutes, and then as soon as I close the doors to leave, here comes someone slamming their hands on the side of the bus!

When devices try to compensate for error

Take my oven for example: when I set a timer I hold the button until it gets to the number I want and let go. It always flashes the time I wanted, then it adds an additional minute. Apparently it assumes I'm going to let go early every single time without exception.

No, timer, I set it to the time I wanted.

Another example is my old DVR. When I would fast forward through a show, I'd always press play where I wanted it to start playing again. It would always try to compensate by rewinding 30 seconds under the assumption that I am going to overshoot it by 30 seconds. It made it frustrating to fast forward through commercials, because it'd either rewind 30 seconds back in to the commercial break, or I'd have to intentionally let it go 30 seconds in to the show (which would spoil things, especially in cases where they had a cliffhanger that was resolved after the commercial break)

Just do the thing that I did. I will compensate if I make a mistake, don't assume I'm a lumbering idiot.

Keto Mixed Berry Cheesecake

I used boysenberries and wild blueberries for mine. Otherwise I followed Keto Upgrade's recipe fully. It's so good. The texture is spot on.

Keto Mixed Berry Cheesecake

Berry Sauce recipe

8 oz. Fresh berries of choice (226 grams) macros below are with 2 oz. black berries, 3 oz. raspberries and 3 oz. Strawberries

1/3 Cup Allulose

Instructions:

Puree the berries then cook the berries and allulose over medium heat until a thick sauce forms

Strain the mixture to get a nice smooth berry sauce, should get about 4 oz. of sauce

Let cool while you make the crust and filling

Keto Cheesecake Crust recipe

3/4 Cup Almond flour

3/4 Cup Chopped sliced almonds (66 grams)

2 Tbs. Granular Sweetener

4 Tbs. Butter (melted)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Sift the almond flour and sweetener together and add chopped almonds

Mix in melted butter, should look like wet sand

Pat into a greased 9 or 10 inch spring form pan, can leave it all on the bottom for a thicker crust or take it up the sides an 1 inch

Bake for 8-10 minutes, rotating halfway threw

Let cool while making the filling

Keto Cheesecake filling recipe

2- 8 oz. Blocks cream cheese (softened)

1/2 Cup Granular Sweetener (I use monkfruit/erythritol blend)

2 Eggs (room temp)

1/2 Cup Sour cream (room temp)

1 tsp Vanilla extract

1 Tbs. Fresh lemon juice

Instructions:

The easiest way to make cheesecake is in a food processor (what we did at the pastry shop) but you can also use a stand or hand mixed, beat the cream cheese and granular sweetener until light and fluffy, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl to make sure everything is incorporated

Add in one egg at a time, mixing well and scraping the sides

Add in the sour cream, vanilla and lemon juice and mix until just combined

Can add the berry sauce in a few ways, can layer it in between 2 layers of cheesecake filling, dollop and swirl in, or mix half the cheesecake filling into the berry sauce and alternate scooping plain cheesecake batter and berry cheesecake batter into the crust, then swirling with a knife

Either way you choose to add the berry sauce make sure to smooth out the batter evenly

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes until it is set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the middle, turn off the oven and crack the door and let cool in oven for 10-30 minutes then let cool at room temp for several hours before covering and refrigerating for several hours before slicing

Ring Doorbell constant WiFi issues

This issue has been driving me nuts. The Doorbell says it has a connection so bad that it can't connect whatsoever. I installed a ring chime pro about 6 feet from the door, which is physically as close as I can get it, as it's the closest outlet. The outdoor cameras have no issues whatsoever, even the floodlight cam I have that's double the distance from the m router that the doorbell is. But the damned doorbell is the only one having issues.

I used a signal strength analyzer and put it right next to the doorbell and it shows that the signal is indeed weaker in that spot, but nowhere near as dire as the doorbell thinks. -54 as opposed to -45 in the hall where the chime is.

When customers come up to pay while wearing noise cancelling earbuds so you have to repeat yourself several times

Especially when you raise your voice enough so they can hear on the third repeat, and then they say "you don't have to yell."

Top 3 most disrespectful things customers can do, in my opinion.

Best way to tackle a repeat ban evader?

I have a user who posts daily, and I keep banning their accounts. They are easy to spot, as they post with the same title every day. Is there a way to add that title to automod to send it to queue but NOT alert them? I don't want them to change up their post, to keep it easy to spot them.

I tried adding one of the keywords to send it to queue, but they quickly changed it.

I have been submitting reports to reddit for ban evasion, but they manage to keep coming back.

I use iOS and windows desktop.

Smoked Tri Tip

Smoked at 225F until 130F internal. Then rested as I preheated my cast iron griddle to sear it.

I plan to refrigerate it and slice it thin with my meat slicer and make french dip sandwiches.

Put the whole packet on my burger

Holy shit I was not expecting this spice level from any fast food place. Sauce actually tastes wonderful, bright and fruity. I like to think I have a high spice tolerance, and this had me sweating.

I recommend it.
