Seitan stir fry. Found out why other women dont like me

btw i accidentally dropped the rest of this ON THE FLOOR! I am so upset

I‘ve been seeing a new therapist. she has a bit of a different therapy style - she pulls a third person in for you to interact with and then sort of “coaches” you on what you can improve. She mainly works with people with autism. I am not autistic, or just barely on the spectrum but not enough to be “autistic”, but I still have had social issues which make making friends, particularly female friends, difficult, even at almost 30.

apparently I make facial expressions that could be perceived as judgemental, and don’t show enough visible empathy. Ive always been told to stop rolling my eyes and been confused because….. I AM NOT! The faces i make don’t really correlate with the tone of the conversation. for example, I was being pretty vulnerable and talking about my history of self hatred but was smiling and laughing about it the whole time. I hate that I have to train myself to literally contort my face differently so people won’t be put off by me. it sounds so exhausting. but i just want girlfriends. I’m tired of only having male friends and i know it’s a red flag but they don’t pick up on whatever weird micro expressions i make and i already have some pretty male-coded interests.

Has anyone UNDERESTIMATED their TDEE?

I’ve set a caloric goal Based on my height, weight, and estimated activity level (I have a retail job where I am on my feet for around 7 hours and often don’t have the time to sit or stand still. I don’t really get much walking in otherwise about 5k steps a day - I don’t count steps while at work - and occasionally lol maybe once a week twice if I remember a workout video. So I put my activity level as sedentary

I’ve been eating at what I thought was a 250 calorie deficit, since I’m not overweight to begin with and just want to shave a tiny bit off, but after 6 weeks of tracking I’ve averaged 1 lb of loss a week.

have I magically underestimated my activity????

Does anyone have advice on losing weight without triggering anorexia lol

Figured this is a sub to ask that wouldn’t immediately tell me to see a dietician (ive looked into it- the only ones my insurance covers are for diabetics or are HAES advocates)

They weighed me at the doctor and I found out I was borderline overweight. I started recovering from (an embarrassingly late life bout) anorexia last year and ive put on 35 lbs…..

I feel sick, I had already been trying to track my calories in a healthy way and was planning to start lifting but once I learned that my brain IMMEDIATELY switched to old habits. It feels impossible, especially because at my height any weight loss would be very slow and I’m now living in an area where everyone is ozempic skinny.

Recovering from a leg injury and too broke for the gym but have some adjustable weights from 1.5 to 5 lbs. yoga mat. Was cycling before this happened. Have a weird work schedule but am generally on my feet and sometimes am lifting heavy boxes. All of the healthy foods I regularly eat will apparently now make me have uncontrollable diarrhea.

Help, how do I trick my brain into not going sicko mode? Not only does it work, it’s a coping mechanism for the stressful shit in my life right now and gives me a lot of satisfaction:

Potentially helpful for someone with history of anorexia? CW: IWL, ED

I had a brief but nearly dangerous fight with Ana after years of binge eating and bulimia. Started recovery a year ago and I’ve gained enough to apparently now be considered overweight. I have had a lot of stress and while these are all excuses moving in with a boyfriend and living somewhere new where my routines are all different (and a much colder winter to boot) haven’t helped

I want to lose some weight but every time I try and tell myself I’ll do it in a healthy way, I start getting so obsessive about weighing my food and counting every single calorie. It occupies every space of my brain and I can’t even sleep because of both the food noise and the hunger.

I was wondering if a GLP1 would be helpful, since it would reduce the food noise and make it a little bit less…… urgent. I ask this because I take a medication containing Wellbutrin, and while that’s usually contraindicated for anorexia, it actually helped me recover majorly (the appetite suppressant effects have worn off as you can see….. ha ……). I’m too old to be an anorexic. I don’t want to lose my period and my hair again but I want to look hot.

Thanks

Still thinking about how perfect this day was lol. Never realized I could fit a ham baguette sandwich into my routine.

Also the butter I used was a blend of cow, goat and sheep’s milk! How cool!

How to cook egg whites to make them palatable

It tastes like snot and misery to me but I want an easy fast way to get protein that isn’t full of protein powder. Usually I put hot sauce on to power through it but the texture is so awful

I became hypomanic on l-theanine but no one believes me

I’ve tried to take l-theanine during two periods of my life, about 6 months apart.

The first time, I felt extremely hyper with pressured and erratic speech, very on edge in a way that made me scared. I didn’t think it would be the supplement because it is supposed to be relaxing so I kept taking it and it wouldn’t stop. Eventually I decided to give it a break and I went back to normal

A month or so ago I tested it again and similar situation, but I started having heart palpitations, I could barely sleep, everything was just racing

Again, stopped taking it and it stopped.

FWIW I do have some sort of undiagnosed mood disorder for which I am taking a mood stabilizer and have responded to other medications (SSRIs) poorly before.

I try to research this but no one seems to have this side effect and my psychiatrist was confused as well

Am I just making shit up in my head?

So dang filling. I rubbed the shrimp with cumin and vindaloo seasoning and sauteed in a pan I sprayed with nonstick seasoning

Sorry but I did not count the cucumber, tomato, or lettuce

142g shrimp - 169cal
182g bulgur - 152 cal
113g peach - 44 cal
7g olive oil - 62 cal

Some basil I grew myself to top ::)))

Fell off my bike two days in a row

Now I have to apply ointment to my knee 4 times a day and they weighed me and I’m now borderline overweight (what moving to the Midwest and in with your boyfriend does to a mfer)

Fuck my life man now I am temporarily a cripple AND I have to starve myself because I can’t exercise to compensate and be in a Lower deficit

Cried at urgent care over my weight

I was there worried I had a bad infection from a wound but what concerned me more? MY WEIGHT. One year + after recovery (I already feel like I’m a faker because my struggle did not last very long. About as long as I’ve been recovered) and I’ve gained it all back and more. I am so ashamed. I shouldn’t have let this affect me so much when there are worse things to deal with. I’m on the path to being an unhealthy weight. I used to be way bigger so I’m so scared of returning to that. Living with a man does not help

Favorite restaurant people think is overrated?

Mine is La Scarola. More nostalgia I guess, lot of family lived in Chicago before I moved here and anytime I’d visit we would go and get the veal chop à la gabe(closest thing to proper schnitzel you can get in my grandfather’s opinion, probably a lot of other cheaper places but hey whatever)

Still think about that veal chop but it’s $50 so not in my budget

Is it ok to just eat a fuckton of fruit?

Getting back on track and I find myself eating fruit at every single meal. In between meals. After meals.

Is this ok or is the amount of sugar going to hamper me?

I feel so vindicated re:fishwife

I’m not going to pretend that I’ve been eating tinned fish for years. I did jump on the trend about 3-4 years ago. I enjoyed king Oscar, nuri, bela and more. I thought $5 for a tin of sardines was luxury.

I began to notice the infiltration of fishwife, with its colorful, maximalist, zoomer-bait packaging. Unique flavors. I was intrigued at first - chili crisp in tinned fish sounds pretty cool! That is, until my eyes locked onto the price tag. Neat concept, I thought, but wow, $15 for a can of fish?

My distaste grew into hatred. My tins of Nuri and Bela were slowly displaced by this shit. I refused to try it. They didn’t deserve my money. But I remained secretly curious. Could it be worth the price tag? I remind myself that this is part of the marketing - if it’s expensive, it must be good! But it still rattled around in my brain anytime I saw that technicolor box

The other day, I forgot to eat any breakfast or pack any food for work. We sell Fishwife, so I figured, fuck it. I need food. I get an employee discount.

I bought a tin of their sardines with hot pepper.

They’re good. That’s it. They fall apart too easily and they’re a bit on the dry side but they’re good. Absolutely not worth the $12 that they retail for before my discount.

I was right. It IS a racket. I AM the enlightened being. VINDICATION.

Period 10 days early and just a few days after ovulation

So I went to the bathroom and BOOM I am bleeding and stained my underwear at work!!!!! I had cervical mucus like, two days ago. It did have some blood but that’s been occurring lately for some reason. I don’t have PCOS

It’s moderate flow typical period color so don’t think it’s ovulation bleeding. You can usually put a clock to my period so I don’t know what happened. I have been eating a bit less healthy lately and biking a lot more as it warms up but those are my only lifestyle changes. I was traveling and on a plane last week, would that affect it?

So confused . I am 29F
