Youth Sports in Columbia and/or Irmo

Does anyone have strong opinions on which area has better youth sports programs? Also curious to know if city/town programs are strong or if there are better options around. This is for 8 year old. Interested in soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.

I will be relocating to the area in the next few months. Thanks for any thoughts!

What is most needed in volunteerism and support?

Went to my first USL match last night in Naples, FL. I'll be moving to Columbia, SC in the new year. I see that Columbia has a USL2 program that's possibly looking to level up in the future. What is the best way to contribute to this effort? I have time and resources to offer but I'm curious where the need is for USL organizations and especially USL2 orgs who are looking to develop into USL1. I know answers will vary with each org and location but any insight is appreciated.

Looking for best alternatives to TPT after some bullshit

TPT has been mostly awesome for me. But they just pissed me off so bad that I need to look elsewhere. Anybody recommend a prop firm with similar payout policies? Or one that is just a better experience in general?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Can I be successful approaching FM as real football vs. hacking FM?

Trying to explain this better. But can I have a pretty fair time approaching this game from a real football perspective? Or does game more reward beating the FM simulator?

Obviously its a computer game, so I know there are limitations to how it can mimic real life, but I'm curious how realistic the game feels when making adjustments to rosters, tactics, and strategy.

Any opinions are welcome. Thank you.

Quetiapine/Seroquel & laziness or lack of motivation to exercise

Quetiapine has been a godsend for me. I feel content and calm like never before. It's wonderful and I did not think it was possible after 25ish years of suffering.

Now my one complaint: Its great that I'm calm and content but I wander into "lazy" territory. My inclination is to choose not to exercise or do anything very active. This is new for me because Ive never been reluctant to lift weights or run or play sports. Those are sort of like "my things".

I'm not too worried because I'm sure I can power through the reluctance barrier. But I'm curious if anyone else has similar experience. I'm also eager to see how I'll feel when I combine my normal fitness levels with this drug. My thought is that it will be new highs for my mood and health.

Anyone with experience concerning quetiapine and exercise/fitness please share your thoughts!

Season Expectations/Predictions

I want to know what people think about a few questions:

- Is promotion the expectation?
- Who is your player to watch this year?
- Who is your young player to watch this year?
- What do you expect the formation and style of play to be?
- What surprise predictions or breakouts do you foresee?

I'm excited that the season is here. If you have any thoughts or comments about the upcoming season I want to hear what you think.

How to add new accounts after Pro+?

If I want to add additional accounts after being promoted to Pro+ should I start a new Eval or reset an old Pro?

Does passing a new eval send me directly to Pro+ or do I still need to pass Pro phase for a new account to join my existing Pro+ accounts?

Tradovate Multi-Account Easiest Setup?

Is there an alternative to placing orders in multiples of the amount of accounts when copy-trading? I get it, I can do the math but it really distracts me when Im trading. I Just dont want the additional mental exercise when placing orders. I scale in with micros and it becomes more of an arithmetic distraction than trading decision.

I'm actually choosing to trade one account right now just because its a pain in my ass to copy-trade, but I'm leaving a lot of money on the table just to keep things simple. I know its nitpicking but if anyone has a better option please let me know.

PRRC In Miami or Cape Coral?

Has anyone participated in PRRC or an equivalent at either of these VA Hospitals? I have used it in another state and I think I need to go back if possible...I am staying with family that is halfway between both, if either one was definitely a better option it might tip my decision. I think Miami would be easier.

Anyone familiar with these programs in Miami an/or Cape Coral and were they a good option for you?

Extreme avoidance of leaving room/house. Irritability, fear of being observed...Why?

I had to move back in with parents as an adult. For 20ish years I've lived on my own. I remember the first lease I could afford to not have a roommate. I swore then that I'd never have a roommate again. It wasnt that I didnt like my roommates, most were great people that I continued being friends with forever. It's just that I get so uncomfortable living with people. Especially when I slide into a depressive episode.

Now I'm back with my parents. Every night after everyone goes to sleep I start to get optimistic and ambitious about turning my life around, pursuing interests, taking difficult first steps, being more positive, becoming independent, getting out, etc. Then morning comes around and I am like unwilling to leave my room when I know people are around. It feels like I have to be utterly alone to even step out of the room. I cant really figure out what this stems from. I believe it is connected to an extremely irritable feeling as well.

My best guess has always been that its some fear of being observed. I dont want anyone judging my actions. I'm already self-conscious because I abnormally stay in my room for weeks and months, so people you live with already know youre acting a little odd. Then it feels like every normal thing I try to do is "observed". "Oh, he's making himself a lunch, that's good.", "Oh he's checking his mail, he's showing some interest, that's good." "Oh he went for a walk, he's getting out, that's good."....this is kind of what runs through my head when I think about leaving the room. I hate that instantly I know I will be met with some sort of questioning about "what are you doing, where are you going, how did you sleep, how are you feeling?". I hate the obligation that I will have to answer an "interrogation". It makes me just avoid it instead. I will go for days without eating or delay getting water from the kitchen until past midnight, just to avoid the people I love the most.

None of these people are doing anything wrong, and I know that. It's all me but the feeling is so intense. And I remember doing this same thing when I was 18, 19, 20, years old. Does anyone else have this same feeling? Can anyone explain what this is or why its happening? At this point it may be the biggest thing actually holding me back. I am feeling slightly better from an incapacitating depression and I'm now wasting days I could be improving to just hide in my room. I also feel incredibly rude and guilty about putting this strange mood on my family. I know its invading the entire home.

Please help.

What to do about Work? Lower Stress Occupations?

I am looking for careers/professions that have worked for you. Things that have fulfilled your need for purpose/meaning but have also kept your stress levels manageable and protected you from triggering severe episodes and collapses.

In doing research to find a new path and I am discovering that stress is inherent to occupation itself. Nearly every field will dissuade you from joining them due to unforeseen stress. Therefore I am just looking for what has worked for you in your life and the management of your symptoms.

I am fortunate to have a full pension in my upper-30's. So money is not the biggest concern. But I also have a deep need for impactful and direct service and/or meaning in my work. My soul gets dangerously restless and depressed when I feel stuck in a routine of anything lacking a purpose I believe in. I can be fickle about that but many of you probably understand. Sometimes I am my own worst enemy but the point is I need to be creatively challenged in some way - I cant babysit an email inbox full-time.

My search now is for a second-career that can take me into old-age and help me remain stable for my son - and myself.

Please share if anything has "clicked" or "worked" for you in your experience. Thank you!

How many apps "need" to be open 24/7? Whoop is the only one I keep fully open 24/7. Makes me wonder if fitness is just an open door for the real value of 24/7 access to data.

Also memory features on AI and increased AI priority make me wonder how much Im giving Whoop vs. how much Whoop is giving me.

I understand were all hemorrhaging data anyway as modern consumers but to what extent is Whoop a mining company vs a fitness one?

I like the minimalist band and screenless simplicity bc I dont want intrusion and added complexity in my life. I like the simple big 3 scores and HRV based metrics. But I do have some warning bells about what Im trading for it from my side. It may sound like a petty complaint but I sometimes get a dystopian feel about consumer tradeoffs in AI/bigData economy.

I want simplicity and privacy but am I really giving up all my privacy for the illusion? Maybe Im just trading my indecipherable complexity for Whoop to interpret and simplify for me. Maybe thats the better way to look at it.

Is there anything specifically excessive about Whoop in this regard?

▲ 48 r/mets

The last couple of years I got pretty deep into the "underlying" metrics of MLB during an especially competitive streak of fantasy baseball. Semien was like the #1 guy I discovered that was secretly awful with no hope to return to expectations. I traded him everywhere I could for whatever I could get.

When Stearns dealt Nimmo for him I knew any positive spin was pure bullshit. I saw that deal as a purely financial one. Shed one year of Nimmo's deal basically. "Run prevention" line might become Mets lore its so laughable.

The problem is Stearns made financial moves, but no talent ones, and inexplicably expected to get by with these patchwork solutions. Semien and Polanco are like depth guys, or at best players you plug a hole with after the rest of your lineup is in place. You can rotate them but they cant be half of your everyday infield. Having Semien starting everyday AND Polanco as your everyday 1B is like Pittsburgh Pirates shit. I wont even put that kind of imbecility on the Marlins.

Then you sign Bichette for 3B and move Baty around like he's Mookie Betts....I've never seen a team approach a roster like this. They shipped out the identity of the team (which I was ok with) and brought in all new veterans and played nearly every single one out of position. Its downgrades across the board and they arent even young. Youre not just "teaching" a new position, youre trying to teach a bunch of old dogs, new tricks.

On top of that the entire coaching staff was cleaned out except the manager. A lame duck with brand new vets, in brand new positions, playing for a brand new coaching staff. How was that supposed to work? None of the remaining presence in the clubhouse are natural leaders...they are mostly good-vibes, feel-good guys: Mendoza, Lindor, Soto - Stearns collected a bunch of mercenaries around them and there is noone to look to for direction. Again, Ive never seen anything quite like this, and I knew it was coming before Spring.

I'm not knocking the players character. This was just inept roster decisions and team-building. I think a different manager could squeeze a little more out of this group, but only marginally. This is a team that actually needs a Showalter type to motivate them and bring them together. It seems like everyone in this organization is just waiting for the statistics to even out as if we're just on an unsustainable run of unlucky coin-flips...thats not whats happening. This team is bad and rudderless and the winds are not coming.

Please have patience with me if this seems obvious but I am awestruck by the possibility that pure mental stress might be so physically measurable at the fitness tracker level.

I have bipolar disorder. I never used Whoop specifically with my bipolar condition in mind but obviously sleep and fitness are important variables to my mental health. I just noticed something in my numbers that makes me curious about others experience.

When I'm in a deep depression I unfortunately tend to neglect my Whoop usage. I might let the battery die or simply stop caring. But I just wore it through what I would consider the low point of a depressive episode; meaning I am mentally aware of my depression worsening, bottoming out, and then slightly improving. I noticed that, without any exercise, my recovery scores went from consistently red to consistently yellow and now consistently to 90%+ green.

I know its intuitive but its still blowing my mind to watch my RHR and HRV go from uncharacteristically poor to peak performance with absolutely no change to my activity levels. Ive been almost exclusively laying in bed which makes it appear that my mental angst has been the only thing influencing the numbers.

I'm very curious if anyone has been able to track mood episodes through Whoop metrics and noticed identifiable correlations between better moods & better numbers, or worse moods & worse numbers. Again, I understand that this may sound like a "well, duh" pseudo-discovery but the extremes and clarity of the numbers are kind of eye-popping absent of any sort of physical influence. What I wonder now is if its all just a sleep quality issue and what exactly is going on biochemically that disrupts sleep quality if sleep length is more or less consistent.

Things I've already ruled out for the changes are: exercise, medication changes, sleep length

Things that seem like possible contributors: mental stress, sleep quality

It just seems so wild to me that pure mental stress can be so physically measurable.

For extra context I sometimes "doubt" that bipolar is real or that I "really" have it. So seeing potential physical evidence is sort of like a splash of cold water on my face. I often tell myself I am exaggerating my symptoms or being dramatic, weak, etc. When I am healthy it is almost unfathomable for me to identify with the way I felt when I was struggling. It's like it happened to a different person or like it wasnt real. So in some ways this would feel somewhat validating to me if the numbers are accurately recording a physical hindrance that corresponds with my mood stability and performance.

Now perhaps none of these observations are interconnected so I am not trying to proclaim it scientific law but I am definitely curious if anyone else has recognized patterns in their data.
