Looking for ideas for a halal wedding with lots of barakah

Assalamu alaikum everyone!
I’m currently trying to find ideas and inspiration for our wedding, and I would really appreciate hearing from people who have had a wedding that was as full of barakah as possible.
Things are a little complicated for us and everything might happen quite quickly, so I’m trying to gather ideas and advice beforehand.
We are trying to keep the wedding gender-segregated. At first, I was thinking about having no music at all. Personally, I do enjoy music, and I know people around us would probably expect it, so it would be the first wedding in our circle without music. But at the same time, I really want the day to be beautiful and enjoyable without compromising what we believe is halal.
So I’d love to hear from you:
What creative activities or programs did you have at your wedding instead of music?
What did you do to make the day feel special, fun and memorable?
How long did your wedding celebration last?
Did you have any halal playlists/nasheeds that you could share? Ideally without musical instruments, or nasheeds/songs with only daf?
We are Arab, so if there are any Arabs here who have recommendations for suitable Arabic nasheeds or songs, I would especially appreciate that!
What other things did you do to bring more barakah into your wedding?
Were there any things you intentionally avoided or changed that you felt made the wedding more meaningful?
Unfortunately, we can’t save much money when it comes to the actual wedding celebration because weddings are simply very expensive where we live. We are trying our best to keep everything reasonable, and we are keeping the other celebrations beforehand very private and simple.
And a separate question for the sisters: 🌸
For those of you who had a halal Henna night, how did you organize it?
Are there any Palestinian sisters here who could share how you celebrated your Henna night and what activities/traditions you included? I’d love to hear about Palestinian Henna traditions and how you kept the celebration halal while still making it fun and beautiful.
I’d really appreciate any ideas, experiences, playlists, traditions or advice. Jazakum Allahu khayran!

Rough spot suddenly appeared on the front surface of my upper front tooth

Hi everyone,
I noticed something strange today. On one of my upper front teeth (the front surface, not the biting edge), I suddenly felt a rough spot with my tongue. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before because I would have noticed it.
Under my phone’s flashlight, the area also looks slightly different, almost as if a tiny bit of the enamel surface has chipped off or become rough. There is no pain, but the texture definitely feels different.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been using a children’s toothpaste with hydroxyapatite by mistake instead of my usual toothpaste. I’m wondering if that could have anything to do with it, or if it’s more likely to be a small enamel defect, erosion, or something else.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did it turn out to be enamel damage, a stain, demineralization, or something harmless? Could this sometimes be treated without needing a filling?
Thank you!

Looking for advice on getting rid of ingrown hairs on the underside of my thighs

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for advice from people who have dealt with stubborn ingrown hairs on the underside/back of their thighs (the area you sit on).
Because there’s a lot of friction in that area when I sit and move around, I’m really prone to getting ingrown hairs there. It’s become a recurring problem, and honestly, it’s getting pretty frustrating.
What has worked best for you to get rid of them as quickly and effectively as possible? Do you have any routines, products, exfoliation methods, or other tips that actually made a difference?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people with personal experience. Thanks in advance!

How much visible scalp is actually normal for men?

I saw a discussion on social media where someone said they have “thin hair” because their scalp is visible, especially when their hair is short or wet.

The thing is, I’ve only seen photos/videos of this person from the front and I never got the impression that their scalp was visible or that their hair looked particularly thin. So now I’m wondering if they’re being overly critical of their own hair or if I’m just missing something.

How much scalp visibility is actually considered normal for men? Is it common to see some scalp when hair is short, wet, under bright lighting, or styled a certain way? Or is visible scalp generally a sign of thin or thinning hair?

Basically, where is the line between normal hair and genuinely thin hair? And do people sometimes exaggerate how bad their hair is because they’re self-conscious about it?

Good Muslim, But Not Financially Ready — Am I Being Unrealistic?

I’m currently getting to know someone for marriage in a halal way, and I honestly feel very conflicted.

On paper, this person has many qualities I always wanted: respectful, good character, emotionally calm, religious, prays, fasts, tries to fulfill their obligations, and overall seems sincere. We also have a lot in common. Of course, I know anyone can present themselves well in the beginning, and we’ve only met a few times, so I’m trying to stay realistic.

The thing is: I don’t fully know yet if I feel chemistry or attraction. I’m still unsure. There are things I like about the person, but also certain physical features I personally struggle with. I’m trying to figure out whether attraction can grow over time or if I’m forcing myself to “make it work” because the person seems good Islamically.

But my biggest stress right now is the financial situation.

The person works, but doesn’t yet have a stable career/job situation and is not financially established. And I’ve started panicking about the future: housing, struggling financially, second-hand furniture, instability, constantly worrying about money, etc. I know these things are not everything in life, but I also don’t want to ignore reality.

Would it be wrong or unrealistic to say:
“I think you should first build yourself up financially and become more stable, and then revisit marriage later”?

Part of me feels guilty because I know rizq comes from Allah, and nobody starts perfectly. But another part of me thinks love and feelings can make people ignore practical issues until reality hits later.

I guess I’m asking:
Is it reasonable in Islam to step back because someone is not financially ready yet, even if they seem like a good person otherwise?

And has anyone experienced attraction/chemistry growing later with someone who was initially “good on paper” but not an immediate spark?

Jazakum Allahu khayran.
