How do I make sure I do well?

I’m starting engineering next year and I’m worried I won’t be able to succeed in it. I was very great at school but I know it might not translate into uni. I’m making a big investment to go into engineeeing (both time and money) and I’m hoping I can get advice on how to not shit the bed.

Will I be able to live a normal life

I’m an international student originally from Egypt and Saudi Arabia. And in sum this is literally my best option to come study in Calgary no matter how bad it is for others. Many have told me to not come however I will probably never get a better chance than this. I’m scared I won’t be able to live a normal life there( make friends, go out, be treated normally). Anyone please help me with some advice. Thank you

will my nationality limit my opportunities?

I’m originally Egyptian and I want to become a pilot however I constantly see that countries abroad other than Egypt wont hire except their citizens. This is starting to discourage me and encouraging me to find another career. Any advice?

What do you think about a double degree in business and engineering?

Do you think it’s a good investment to get a project management or adjacent fields early in your career?( it is a bachelor degree)

Is assistant teaching a good extracurricular?

I’ve gotten a chance to be an assistant teacher for Ap chem in my senior year. It’s paid, nice teacher and I wanted to know is it a good EC for unis to see? Because I genuinely don’t have A lot of meaningful ecs.

Or I can do a double major of mech E and business. what do you think will give me the most opportunities long term? In Canada btw
