I joined the lovely folks over on the {FH6} Pro League Server and made a livery for the car I'll be driving during their events. Feast your eves on the SHARK Energy 370Z Nismo! The idea is that the designer of the 370Z said that, when he was designing the car, Shark Week was on the discovery channel and he was like "yeah you son of a bitch that's it." And since there's an Energy drink called SHARK that DID sponsor Motorsports (albeit NASCAR but oh well), boom, an Idea was in my head.

Done with my newest livery! It's inspired by Need for Speed Shift 2's liveries and a bit of DTM. I made up a fictional racing series for it, the RS4ECS (the RS4 European Championship). For the indtended look, get the Oettinger Type E wheels in their base dimensions.

I have this weird obsession with creating fictional liveries that still look historically authentic, so I present you my drastically revamped 240Z that, if my research (and there was a LOT OF IT), could've raced in a clubsport level internationally. Austrian driver (me) with Japanese, British, American, French, Dutch and German sponsors, kinda like "we'll take what money we can get". LMK what you think 🙂

I'd really appreciate comments, either here or on Substack itself, and maybe shares with other car people you may know. Writing about cars is really fun and I'd love to build an audience for it.

So I have this thing about cars in their official colors and I thought why not pick two colors I like (here, Minerva Blue and Guards Red) and two colors I don't (here, Bamboo Beige and Moccha) for a ride, make a basic design out of that and then add fitting recreations of period-accurate logos of (possible) motorsport sponsors. The idea behind this design was "privateer Porsche 911 3.3 that raced in the 80s with an Austrian driver and exclusively Austro-German sponsorship".

So I did a lotta research and found that the famed suspension company Bilstein is a huge supplier but hardly ever - if ever - was the main sponsor. So I made them the head sponsor here.

Semperit is an Austrian tire company belonging to Continental these days. Recaro needs no introduction. Gösser Bräu is an Austrian brewery from right across the corner where I live, and beer/alcohol sponsorships were huge in the 80s - think about the Jägermeister 911. And Gösser DID sponsor four BMWs in the 70s, so I figured sure, why not.

The minor sponsors are Bosch (electronics), ARAL (fuel supplier in Germany), Textar is a brake-company, Sonax is a car care product supplier that loves sponsoring private entries and Mahle produces engine parts. HELLA does Lighting systems.

I wanted to add an 80s Logo of FUCHS (for the legendary FUCHS-Wheels that 911s had/have), but couldn't find one.

All in all I'm really happy with how it came out even though it was a lot of work.

Base color is Minerva Blue, the stripes and decals are in Bamboo Beige with pops of Guard's Red and Moccha Brown as contrast. I still need to apply the sponsor/aftermarket logos and need to recreate a few of them first, but if you like it and want to modify it, let me know and I'll drop the share code.

Hab heute Mal mit meiner Frau ne kleine Radtour unternommen. Wir waren davor noch beim Lidl einkaufen und waren während der Fahrt kurz in einem Baumarkt was für's Rad holen, aber das waren bestenfalls 5k. Meine Frau war schon vor mir wacj und hat gehaushaltet und sie hat nur ca 5.3k. Jetzt meine Frage - es ist ziemlich offensichtlich, dass mein Huawei Health langsames Radfahren - von der Ampel losfahren, hinter Familien hertuckern etc - als Schritte zählt, abet die Fahrt als solches als eine Einheit erfasst, auch wenn ich bei jeder roten Ampel die Fahrt an der Ampel gestoppt hab. Google Fit zeigt mir Radfahren überhaupt nicht als Aktivität an.

Kann ich irgendwie verhindern, dass Huawei Health langsames radeln als Schritte zählt und somit die Kalorienerfassung verhunzt? Weil im Yazio hab ich jetzt 1.5k verbrannte KCal drin und nach ein wenig shoppen und einer Stunde ziemlich entspanntem radeln glaub ich kaum dass das bei 122.5kg / 193cm zusammenpasst...

I made a very 60s/70s inspired livery for the 240Z that only uses colors it was originally available in. I'm a huge nerd for official car colors, so the base color is Orange, the main contrast color is yellow and some pops of color are in dark bronze and dark green. The logos are mostly of my own creation and ported over from Fh5, besides the ones that Forza itself offers.
