Downloads
I love Steam. It's hands down the best software for installing games, playing them, downloading mods, sales, so good in many regards, nothing competes with it and I think a lot of people would agree. Not to mention I have 5,000 hours on Steam alone and I have spent hundreds of dollars, and I trust Steam to protect my account. I literally use no other primary software for games other than trusted sources on the web. However I have one complaint and that is with downloads. I want to be able to download when I choose.
This could be a problem for multiplayer games where every player needs to have the same version, which makes sense. I think this should be enforced downloads or they just restrict from multiplayer if you're not up to date. But this is not true for workshop updates. When I am just about to play a game and a mod I never play needs to update, and then I uninstall that mod it continues to update despite me not even having the files for the mod anymore. This should not be an enforced update because you don't need mods to play the base game.
I understand the technical issues of allowing players to decide when their updates, but I definitely think there could at least be a feature for this. I'm not experienced in this regard but some kind of feature to delay updates for singleplayer games would make it much more convenient and I would really appreciate this.
Also I have noticed a glitch where I am 200 megabytes into a 3.5 GB download and it says it 60% which doesn't make any sense, and then it stops at around 60-90% to catch up. Otherwise, I don't have any issues with Steam whatsoever. This is just one thing that really bugs me. Thank you for reading.
