Why do we buy an Ac? to sustain this Scorching Heat right?

Look at the temperature right now. Real Feel Temp is 48°

But do you know most of the ac's will fail above 42°?

So please get a Premium Ac and do yourself a favour. As Ac is long term investment, don't cheap out. You'd be actually saving money. How?

Because your "value for money" one's will be running 24/7 coz the Air Conditioner will struggle to bring the Room Temperature down to desired temperature

You'd be trying "High Cooling Mode" or keeping it at 18, all of this sky rockets your electricity bill.

These Ac's work well at other places like Hyd, or in June-July Months in Vijaywada. But aren't we buying ac to sustain Mar-Apr-May months here?

So be practical. If your budget is above 35k, I'm sure spending 10-20k more won't make your life upside down.

How much are we all spending for a mobile phone btw? And how long are they lasting?

Brands like General, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric won't fail at these temperatures.

The other brands you can look for are Lg, Daikin. Or maybe... Hitachi, Panasonic, Bluestar too. But please buy 5 star ac's only in the latter brands

Also try to get a true 1.5T Ac. Almost all brands are selling underpowered cooling capacity ac's as "1.5T Ac" but actually they are 1.4 or 1.3T, Not a true 1.5T

For those whose budget is less than 35k, I'd suggest to go for Window AC instead of Split AC, if room size is < 130 sft. Trust me, they'll give better performance than the split AC one's that are less than 35k

I got curious, and went through the rabbit hole. Here's what I found about this AC

1. Warranty:

It comes with 5-year comprehensive warranty, What I liked is, their warranty tnc are simple to read & transparent.

unlike other brands, they also mention gas refilling charges in the warranty.

But it's not clear whether this applies only to compressor/coil-related low gas issues or to all situations.

Another thing I like is they have clearly mentioned what's not is covered in their warranty. "Damage caused by voltage supply exceeding 290V" Take this for example, they have clearly mentioned till how much voltage surge, their warranty can be claimed.

But all services, even relocation has to be done by their technicians, if not the warranty will be void

They also mention that physical or aesthetic damage during transportation will not be covered. I am not sure if other brands follow the same rule, but at least they have stated this clearly.

It is a smart ac that comes with usual smart features & app, but additionally they claim the app has gas level indicator. Which is a new thing. If this is true, it will put end to all gas leaks drama many folks face

6. They claim to have done 1000 hours of corrosion testing, which they say is much higher than normal market standards. They also have a certificate for this claim.

If true, this should make it more corrosion-resistant than many other ACs, which is an important factor for people living near drains or in humid areas.

7. I also liked that, they didn't market their ac as "1.5 Ton" despite being not, which is a common practice across many brands. They clearly claim it's a 1.4 Ton ac, which is 4850 W

8. Their ac costs 39,500 which includes installation. So we can see they are not following the typical textbook philosophy of many Indian startups ie be price sensitive. Must say, this is a bold move

9. Design looks sleak & simple. It is not an important factor for me, but for those who care for aesthetics, it looks good

10. They have their own r&d team in gurgaon and collaborating with IIT Delhi

11. It comes with Dual Rotatory Compressor

12. Apart from this you have the usual features like turbo cooling, variable speed, R32 gas, okayish noise level (32-46 db), timer, self cleaning common with all brands.

13. We don't know which company's compressor the brand uses (Gmcc,Copeland,Danfoss, Panasonic, LG, Daikin etc). We can know after some unboxing/disassembling video

I think this AC is launched very recently, maybe around 10 days ago and it seems to be available only in Delhi NCR, Jaipur, and Hyderabad

So, I'm a new player and currently in Ch 2. Was just exploring the map and ended up at this stupid place called "Butcher's Creek". For every "Hey there Partner" I had to defuse the argument..

Moving on, I couldn't interact with one guy. No "Greet" or "Antagonise" options, just "melee". So I said... why not? And that was the biggest mistake I ever made...

Yesterday I saw a post from a guy who wrote poetry about the three premium brands (mhi,general,me) like "hotel feel" blah blah blah gpt slop..

Look, It ain't that deep bro, you get that "feel good" thing even for a few models of daikin & lg, which are costlier.

The reason people prefer those 3 brands despite the premium is they last longer, their on paper specs match real time experience, trust.

Ex: ME doesn't sell their 1.9 T ac as 2T ac and fool naive customers. Like how, many brands do with their 1.5T ac

O General doesn't fool customers with fake energy efficiency rating like 3 brands did a while back

Weight & Dimensions of an unit tells you a lot about the ac apart from the nonsense "features" your nearby salesman/Yt influencer tells you. All the so called "value for money" ac's are maybe made of cheap parts and may not last longer

It doesn't mean everyone has to go & get those 3 premium brands.

It makes no sense for a guy living near nala or often shifts home to buy premium one's. Also a guy living in tier 3 area would prefer the premium brands because the fate of after sales service would be same for every brand anyway, so he would rather buy these brands which can withstand the scorching heat.

Another thing I want to clarify is the recently blown out "daikin is not good anymore" narrative

Look, the people who have said that were saying in the context of made in India models vs made in Thailand/Japan models. This is not just limited to Daikin! Even for Mhi or Me, the models made in Thailand are usually thought to be better than the ones made in India.

Just because Daikin shifted to India, it didn't became some "Midea" or whatever brand overnight. Daikin is still Daikin. It is one of the very few brands that makes their own compressor. So please don't be misguided. I hope I've clarified few things

Bengalis took a lot of courage to make Bjp win this election. The horrors of 2021 Violence is still fresh in people's eyes. Exodus, R#pes, Murders, Harassment, Assault all happened simultaneously.

I mean I get that their 1.5T 5 Star Ac looks really promising, comparatively better cooling capacity, 5 yr comprehensive warranty and I've heard no complaints so far for 2025 & 2026 models, atleast for ac...but still... people are going crazy here 😭

Not just here, even offline shops are telling me the same thing. Not just for 1.5T 5 star ac itself, but people are going crazy even for 1.5T 3 star and 2T too 😭, why

My take: Panasonic is a great ac, but it's not like you're getting a List A ac of this post for 40-43k to justify that craze & hype

Just wanted to share whatever info I know about Hitachi Ac

1. You can get their 1.5T 5 Star 2026, Non Wifi Ac for 41-43k after good negotiation including Bracket/Stand

2. You can avail 5 yr comprehensive warranty like Panasonic & Godrej by paying additional 350 rs

3. Basic Installation Charges are covered by the brand and you only have to pay for bracket/Stand Fitting charges.

This doesn't include Brazing & Nitrogen testing charges in the case of already concealed copper pipes.
