Which Green Lantern do you think the Hawkgirls would be closest to? (Let's exclude John Stewart, since he's the obvious answer.)

If you were to create a Wonder Woman villain who has NO direct connection to mythology, what would they be like?

Wonder Woman 2007 Annual

We know that Wonder Woman is heavily inspired by Greek and Roman mythology, which is reflected in her villains like Ares and Circes.

But Wonder Woman isn't just about Greek mythology; it's only a part of her identity. And that's where the thing arises: whenever discussions about creating new villains for her come in, they focus on making the villains part of mythology, especially Greco-Roman mythology, which isn't a problem.

But there aren't only villains of that type. We have Giganta, Doctor Psycho, Veronica Cale, and many other villains who have no connection to that world. Of course, because Diana is from that world, they interact with it, like Cale having her daughter kidnapped by Phobos and Demos, but if we removed the mythology, they would still exist on their own.

So the question is, what would a good non-mythological villain for Wonder Woman be like? And how would they interact with Wonder Woman world?

Tim Drake's letter "To the Father I Never Knew" Batman 480

“To the Father I Never Knew:

Dear Dad,

I wish we could go back and start over again! When I was a kid, I used to dream--to pray--that you and mom would stop travelling, forget business and just settle down. We’d be together, the way a family ought to be… Now I have my wish. I’m going to be with you all the time. And it’s tearing me apart. Funny how once you never seemed to care--at least, you never showed me that you did. And now you want to run my life. Do you really think we can start over…?

I’ve no idea who you think I am, Dad--but I’m not that boy. I had to fend for myself for a long time. I changed, Dad. I have a lot of…secrets. You couldn’t be more wrong about Bruce Wayne. Despite what he seems, he is the only truly great man I have ever known. He…helps people. And he never asks for anything in return. I’m not interested in your business, Dad. I’ve already found my place in the world. I know what I want to be!

So how does it sound, Dad? Your own son is Robin. Understand now why I can’t come back? Gotham is a cesspool. Tragedy stalks on every street. I can help, dad. I’m needed! Strange, how you can come to love a city. Even one as ugly and rotten as Gotham. All those millions of people, the lines of their lives crossing, touching, tangling…almost as if the city itself is alive. I love you, Dad-but I’ve found my place. I know who I am. I’m part of my city.

Sometimes I wish we could start over…but I know we can’t. We have to take things from exactly where we are. This might not make a lot of sense to you. I only hope you understand.

Your loving son,

-Tim

Do you prefer Atlantis to be a society more focused on magic or technology? (Both could exist, but which would be the main specialty?)

[DISCUSSION] what are some current status quos of DC comic characters that many people still don't know about?

Comics, contrary to popular belief, actually change the status quo of characters quite a bit. It's not uncommon for writers, for better or worse, to want to leave their mark and make changes; some become permanent and change how we see the characters, others... are completely forgotten by the next writer.

Within this, there's something in between: status quo changes that have been in comics for a while, actively important to the plot, but... that many people who aren't reading the comics of these characters aren't aware of or have a wrong idea about.

An example of what I mean is that Aquaman currently has a daughter in the current continuity, since the end of his 2016 book, but many people still don't know this fact.

Another example is Hippolyta, an Olympian goddess since the event: Olympus Rebirth, and Nubia is the current queen of the Amazons.

Or Thanagar was destroyed by Mogo.

So, what are some current status quos of DC comic characters that many people still don't know about?
