Wolves Women deserve huge credit for what they’ve achieved this season

With so much doom and gloom around the first team lately, it’s nice to actually celebrate something positive around the club. Huge credit to Dan McNamara and the Wolves Women team for securing promotion to WSL 2 for the first time in the club’s history. Honestly an unbelievable achievement. They’ll be facing some massive clubs next season too, so it feels like a genuinely exciting moment for that side of the club. Definitely something Wolves fans can properly get behind right now.

Is the Suffolks Sunday Market happening this Bank Holiday weekend?

Trying to plan a few casual things to do over the long weekend and was wondering if the Suffolks Sunday Market is on this weekend? I usually enjoy wandering down there for the street food and independent stalls if the weather’s decent. Does it normally start around 11am? Would also love any other Bank Holiday market recommendations around town if people know of any.

Reports suggesting Tolu Arokodare could leave this summer

Looks like the summer rebuild might already be starting. Reports yesterday suggested Wolves are open to letting Arokodare leave this summer, potentially on loan, only a year after signing him from Genk. To be fair, 3 goals in 28 appearances tells its own story, and the adjustment to English football has looked really tough for him, although the lack of creativity around him definitely hasn’t helped either. With relegation forcing a financial reset, it’s disappointing things haven’t worked out so far. Would you give him a loan move to rebuild confidence, or just move him on permanently if the right offer came in?

The willowherb is looking incredible up on Leckhampton Hill at the moment

Did a quick stroll around the Cotswold Way loop and the pink fields are absolutely everywhere near the top right now. Always love the contrast between the bright flowers and the view over Cheltenham below. Definitely worth the steep walk if you haven’t been up there in a while.

Anyone here ever actually driven or owned a 1970s Jensen-Healey?

Honestly one of the coolest things about London is randomly spotting cars like this parked on completely normal streets. I’d genuinely never seen a Jensen-Healey before, such a proper old-school British sports car vibe to it. Feels like something straight out of a 70s TV show 😅

Can we talk about how iconic the original 90s Duel platforms and pugil sticks were? 😭

Look at the absolute size of those platforms and the classic checkered pugil sticks. As much as I enjoy the huge production value and polished look of the current BBC version, there’s just something about the slightly chaotic 90s aesthetic that felt so iconic. Do you prefer the modern arena style now, or do you miss the retro look of the original series more?

Moving into management accounting with a non-finance degree, how should I frame my CV?

Im currently working through my CIMA levels, but my degree is in a completely unrelated subject. I’m slightly worried recruiters or HR filters might just see the degree first and assume I’m not relevant for accounting roles before noticing the CIMA progress. Would it be better to put my CIMA studies near the top of my CV so recruiters notice it first? Just worried my unrelated degree might make people skip over my CV before reading the rest properly.

The MGB GT V8 really might be the best-looking version of the B..

I’ve always thought the proportions on the GT were spot on, especially with the chrome bumpers. The subtle bonnet bulge for the V8 just makes it look that bit meaner without ruining the lines. Does anyone else think British Racing Green is the perfect colour for these, or is there a better combo?

Does anyone remember that rare Battle Box track Guy Garvey used to mention?

I’ve been digging through old 6 Music memories trying to find a specific Battle Box-era track involving Guy Garvey and Robert Del Naja (3D from Massive Attack) from around 2012/2013.

I remember hearing Guy talk about it years ago and I’m sure it was tied to one of those limited Battle Box projects/releases, but I can barely find anything about it now outside a few old references online. Does anyone remember the track properly or know if it ever appeared anywhere beyond the original release? It’s been driving me mad trying to track it down again.

King’s Cross is basically becoming London’s AI hub now

With OpenAI and Anthropic already based around Regent Quarter, reports now say Jeff Bezos-backed Project Prometheus is taking 38,000 sq ft in the Jellicoe Building. Along with DeepMind, Wayve and Synthesia already nearby, King’s Cross is starting to feel like a proper AI cluster now.

Personally I still think remote-first works for a lot of software startups, but for robotics/AI companies it feels like being close to talent and research hubs is becoming important again. For people building in AI, does location actually matter that much now or not really?

Just got the Smart Hub Plus set up. Speeds are really good near the router, but upstairs it’s not quite the same. Has anyone tried the Smart WiFi discs? Do they actually improve coverage across the house, or is it better to go for a separate mesh setup? Any setups that have worked well for you.

I’ve been reading a lot about the importance of professional curiosity lately, but wondering how that looks in reality when you’ve got a heavy caseload and it’s 4pm on a Friday. Do you have any tips for staying sharp and picking up on those little things that are easy to miss when you’re just trying to get through the admin?

Been seeing a lot of talk recently about the “unseen” side of social work and how much time goes into admin. As someone looking to go into the field, I’m thinking how people feel about the systems being used day to day. Do they actually help free up time, or does it still end up being a lot of time behind a screen? It would be good to hear from people in practice about what it’s really like.

Done a few trips since the rebrand and the menus feel a bit hit or miss. Had a beef stew on one trip that was genuinely great, but on my last one the seasonal salad was so light I ended up grabbing a toastie from the café after 😅 Is Plus still worth it for the food, or is it mainly for the extra space now? What’s the best (or worst) thing you’ve had on board recently?

Planning a trip to Spain soon and deciding whether to use the EE roaming pass or get a local SIM. For those who’ve used it recently, how are speeds and reliability? Is 5G working well or does it mostly stick to 4G? Just trying to figure out if the daily pass is worth it.
