I feel like free agents don't want to sign with the warriors because they know their stats will suffer and will affect their next contract

Reasons NBA starter level free agents and players in general wouldn't want to sign with the warriors or force their teams to trade them there:

-Since the warriors use a more different system than most NBA teams, players will have to adjust their playstyle more and any players won't go out of their way to learn it unless they're actually traded to the warriors

-Due to Steph's injury concerns and lack of shot creation they will be placed under a lot of pressure to score and create for others in every game he doesn't play which, like what happened to Derrick White last season, has a high chance of causing their stats to dip, possibly affecting their future contract. For example, De'Anthony Melton's TS% and stats in general massively dipped with the larger pressure he got when steph's knee wore out, and as a result no one was willing to sign him to a contract anywhere near the 13M/y he had until 2025

-When Steph actually plays, that player will be expected to always find Steph and will play under the fear of getting benched if he tries to get more usage. Lots of players prefer to show case their on ball skills because they're more confident in it or think that on ball skills lead to a bigger contract down the road.

-They'll have a massive amount of pressure placed on them to "give steph help", and will recieve much more scapegoating and hate from fans if they go through a shooting slump and don't have all nba level efficiency every game, compared to if they play for the Hawks or Suns or something. I don't think many NBA players want top be scapegoated like podziemski.

Warriors-Bulls

Bulls get Moody who was having a breakout season and could be an ideal but low option for them who's still not even 24yo.

Warriors get rid of dead salary of a guy who won't say a single minute of next season and acquire an underrated stretch big in Zach Collins.

Does that make the warriors contenders? No but it gives Steph more on court help instead of a street clothes cheerleader.

Will the 2027 class be better or worse than the 2022 class?

Seen comparisons to 2024 but what about 2022, which didn't have a clear #1 and is one of the more underwhelming classes this decade?

Does Tyran Stokes project to have skills more conducive to winning in the NBA than Paolo Banchero(an actual jumper, more off ball ability, better defensive IQ, much better lateral speed)?

In your opinion, do the top 4 to top 14 picks in 2027 draft have a higher chance of having more legit all stars than the 2022 draft top 4- top 14 picks?

Charlotte-Orlando: Hornets use their TPE

Hornets use their massive TPE to take a flyer on Suggs who would help them with POA defense, which they're quite lacking in.

Risk: Suggs is a certified playoff choker and is prone to low BBIQ shot selection and passes

Magic get a much cheaper and more consistent 3 point shooter, better playmaking and with the same hustle.

They also get a lot more cap flexibility.

Risk: Allen is a worse POA defender (but can be covered by other players on the magic) and has proven to be somewhat injury prone but still less injury prone than suggs.

Warriors get young help for Steph

The warriors mortgage their future for Rollins who was one of the most underrated players in the league, can create his own shot and broke out last year.

The bucks get a haul and a 6th man.

I realized why I was so bad at algebra and high school math:ADHD with poor working memory and poor executive function

I had good to excellent scores at math in 5th and 6th grade due to the problems being just expressions (ex.( a^2)^3- c(d^2+16)using pemdas while making sure signs and powers were correct, which didn't require much working memory due to each step not requiring locating different identities since the rules weren't many competing identities needing to be memorized or duplicated, but simple arithmetic operations( power rules, parentheses expressions multiplication with constant factor, etc. with obvious steps.

My math scores however massively dropped (from As and Bs to Ds and Fs) 7th grade and after when I started having to solve equations with polynomials, square roots in denominators, and trigonometric functions.

When trigonometric functions started being included into equations and systems of equations, I needed to do remedial tests every time and would routinely fail due to the need to memorize 10-12 other identities, all of which might be essential to remember due to possibly appearing in any specific problem, and without knowing that identity by heart it being impossible to find the solution(s), or at least it would take much longer than the time limit allowed.

All this together with having to remember different nested operations(substitution, removing square roots, factorizing) and lacking the executive function to efficiently recognize the right identities needed in ambiguous problems made math too much for my ADHD.

Zach Collins-what went wrong?

When he was playing on the bulls, he seemed to generally pass the eye check many games. Efficient at the rim, Ok at hook shots, doesn't need the ball, can also shoot 3s at a clip that doesn't make him a complete non-threat, not a good defender but not a complete cone and alters shots using his size near the rim.

However the consensus among most draft nerds on his outcome is far below his draft position which was 10th overall.

What went wrong with the most 1950s looking white player itl?

Was it him being not able to guard 5s but not quick enough and a good enough shooter to be a 4?

Why do African Americans use "broke" as an insult so much?

I see broke being used as an insult implying that you are less valuable, yourr opinion is worth less, and you're defective, even when due to systemic racism, lower social mobility and generational poverty a plurality of black folk in the US have been financially struggling through no fault of their own, and it's a achievement in itself to have a full time job in the US these days, even if low paying . Shouldn't there be solidarity, acceptance and understanding between black folk towards other black folk who aren't financially privileged?

I see broke being used as an insult implying that you are less valuable, less datable, morally inferior, your opinion is worth less, and you're generally defective.

Im bad at taking notes because writing is too exhausting and requires too much executive function

I keep forgetting my notebook.my notebook is When I open it, I get distracted while trying to find the right page. Many times it's rage inducing and I end up tearing one or more pages in frustration.

Moreover, carrying a pen or pencil in my pocket, because of oversensitivity due to autism, is uncomfortable. I feel like it's constantly jabbing me.

I can't wear pens on a button shirt or jacket pocket because pocketed shirts are very uncomfortable for me because the seams keep rubbing my skin.

I've always been a slow, low stamina, writer with ugly writing due to dyspraxia and writing on a small paper without a hard base is even slower and more exhausting for me. Moreover, erasing or crossing out makes it even harder on my executive function to find something I need, due to lack of clarity and not organization due to not having the time and energy to organize.

I wish I could just telepathically type(because typing makes my thumb hurt) and if not, to have a reliable voice typing software, but I end up having to spend more time fixing entire wrongly interpreted phrases with voice typing because it's so unreliable.

What do you think about married status and having children being a requirement to become a politician as a man?

Observation: At least in the west, being married as a man(regardless of sexual orientation) AND having kids is an "unwritten rule" towards your election campaign being taken seriously as a candidate by media, donors, voters, parties, and gaining financial/political initial support in general.

It seems that theres this social expectation that for men to be electable or viewed as competent or trustable, they must have the image of being a "family man" and that being married with kids is an indicator of being socially and economically successful("having your shit together) which seems to be a requirement for men to be viewed as electable. elections have been decided by one candidate coming off more as a "responsible family man" than the other.

I cannot think of any non-married and/or childless men have received major campaign funding or grassroots support in the west in the last 50 years.

While most women in elected positions fulfill the requirement of being married with children, there are notable exceptions such as AOC in the US, Katrín Jakobsdóttir in Iceland(though she married 1 month after getting her position) and Sanna Marin in Finland. So far criticisms of AOC's opponents don't seem to focus on her marital status or lack of children, and enough voters didn't care about it that she successfully ran for office.

Do you think the requirement for male politicians to be married with kids is a symptom of patriarchy? If a single and/or childless man were to run for office, would his relationship status or childlessness be a factor in your voting decision?

It feels so painful to be told that she's so much happier without me and that she was checked out

And that life is easier without me, and I didn't even realize how much I was a burden in her eyes.

What makes it even more painful is that I was ghosted after her last text being that she needed time to figure something out(never mentioned what) and that she loves me "so,so much", and I would've never found out what she really thought of me if I hadn't gone to her job(at a restaraunt) where she told me what she really thought of me and that I should've known she broke up with me because she put what belongings I had in her place outside at the door(never messaged me to pick them up though).

I know I did many ADHD and burnout things that annoyed her but I thought she had forgiven me and she seemed happy and close and seemed to think that I was improving. She confidently told me with a cold tone that she had checked out long ago and it didn't matter how much I tried or telling me what actions I did hurt her because she was convinced long ago that I would never "transform" to be a better partner that she wanted. She told me that any gifts or gestures I made, or any for her in the last few months didn't matter to her at all because it was too late and she was just trying to act loving towards me .

Now all I have is a memory of the sweet girl who I viewed as my best friend, thought she understood and related with me, and who I loved deeply. I know I have to be happy alone, but after 2 months I'm still grieving and constantly have painful flashbacks of moments where she seemed ecstatic to be with me and excited to see me.

Warriors-Bucks

Bucks get 2 lightly to moderately protected most likely low lotto FRPs and Moses Moody who despite being injured for the year is still just 23 years old and was playing some of the best basketball of his career before he got hurt. While he recovers , this gives Burries and Dieng more reps and playing time in the crowded bucks SG and SF rotation. AJ Green is also 28 and doesn't fit the Bucks rebuild timeline.

Warriors get one of the best off ball 3&D movement shooters in the league, who is also an iron man, and can help Steph with more spacing.

LeBron leaking that he wanted the warriors to acquire AD as a condition to come here proves he never actually wanted to come to the them

Leaking that getting AD was a condition removed all leverage warriors had for trades and put all the leverage on the wizards, leading them to demand a return that wouldve gutted the warriors depth completely and put even more pressure on the Dubs aging starters to carry. LeBron put the warriors in a situation of appearing desperate leading to 0 negotiating power in trades.

The warriors are the only team that LeBron put a condition of acquiring another star or specific player on. As mentioned earlier, that put them in the weakest position to appease.

That said, the warriors were uniquely screwed by having 67M in dead salary, and no other potential destination had this issue, so even without LeBron leaking the warriors had the least appeal since they were the most desperate to get rid of salary.

Has anyone tried Bombarda/Sbirolino fly fishing in the US?

For some reason the bobber-like gear know as the bombarda or sbirolino is completely unknown in the US, but in Europe, this contraption is used to massively extend casting distance of ultra light lures, including tiny flies and jigs, allowing them to be casted with long surf spinning rods(usually at least 14ft long, since the leaders are very long(over 5ft most of the time).

Bombardas come in floating, suspending and sinking variations, depending what kind of lure or fly you need to use.

Bombardas are used to cast streamers at very long distances in the North Sea and Norwegian Fjords to fish for Sea Trout and Atlantic salmon. These streamers are retrieved with a generic jigging action.

Bombardas are extremely popular in areas with extremely spooked and line shy fish like mullet and needlefish in clear water such as in the Black Sea and Mediterranean.

Would bombarda rigs with streamers be useful in big American lakes and rivers where trout/salmon are usually way too far out to be reached without a boat? Could the floating and suspending bombardas be used to cast dry flies and nymphs with a spinning rod that wouldnt normally be able to cast them and let them drift without affecting their action?

Has anyone tried streamer fishing with a bombarda rig?

Does NBA journalism overrate aging star power and downplay roster depth when predicting next season's team standings and playoff success?

For 4 years in a row now mainstream NBA sports journalism(espn, bleacher report, the athletic) places the Sixers, Bucks and the warriors in one of the top 6 seeds in their conferences because "they have Steph" and "if embiid is healthy", "they have Giannis".

These same publications are now ranking the rockets as a top 6 six with an almost guaranteed playoff appearance mostly because "they have KD", even though their young core and bench underperformed last year, and 2 of their starters are aging and coming off of major injuries. They're predicting the heat being in the top 3-4 in the East simply because they have Giannis and bam, nevermind that their bench is on the same level of who Giannis had with the bucks.

I understand basketball is a very star driven sport, but the last few years have proven that teams lacking an excellent bench underperform in the regular season due to the stars getting injured because of having to carry, or in the playoffs where the bench becomes unplayable.

Last year all publications and betting orgs placed the suns as one the bottom 4 seeds in the western conference with +-26Ws simply because they traded KD and waived Beal.

This year they're predicting the Bucks to be the 15-13th seed simply because of losing Giannis and the players that the bucks got in return, some their previous solid/promising players(Rollins, Dieng, AJ, Turner, Green, KPJ), as well as their draft picks(Burries, Ament) are mentioned as afterthoughts even though Herro, Jaquez and Ware have performed well in the regular season, and all in all the Bucks have a lot of young talent that provides lots of different skill set and lineup versatility.

Do you think star power is being overrated by NBA journalism given the huge importance of bench depth and lineup versatility has shown to be in the last 2 years?

Were there any concerns about Zion being a mediocre defender?

Were there concerns that his wingspan was too small, and that he had poor lateral speed which meant that he's too slow to guard 1-4 yet too small to guard 5s?

Were there concerns about his lack of motor, mental lapses and low offball BBIQ on defense?

Was that all brushed off or ignored because of being viewed as unstoppable at the rim and because of highlight blocks?

Is there preservation bias against angiosperms in the late Cretaceous?

There seems to be a consensus at least among dinosaur paleontologists that angiosperms were a very minor part of most the late Cretaceous ecosystems preserved, that all herbivorous dinosaurs predominantly ate conifers, ferns and cycads right up to the latest Cretaceous and that herbivores specializing in eating angiosperms only appeared in the paleocene.

This is despite angiosperms having rapidly diversified at least 20 million years before the asteroid impact.

I remember reading that the plant diversity in the nemegt and hell creek formations was absolutely dominated by conifers for example, and that it was assumed from that that conifers were the absolute majority of plant diversity then, so it came as a massive surprise that a formation in New Mexico had more angiosperm diversity.

Could this be due to angiosperms not preserving as well as conifers, gingkos, ferns and cycads? If that's the case, is it known why gymnosperms are more likely to fossilize?

I also can't seem to be many studies about the diversity of Mesozoic conifers with fleshy fruit like cones(analogous to yews or junipers) , just kinda assumed the vast majority of conifers in the Mesozoic had woody cones like today.

Do you predict the 2027 draft gonna be weaker or stronger than the 2019,2022, 2023(except wemby), 2024 drafts

2019 was very underwhelming since garland is undeniably the best player in it. Also cursed in terms of injuries and off the court drama

2022 was underwhelming in terms of winning 1a options(other than JDub) but has some high level starters. The top picks turned out to be major chokers(Mobley, Chet, Duren), shot chuckers(Banchero), or low BBIQ(Jabari). It had a decent amount of winning starting role players (many with still existing upside) throughout the draft though.(Nembhard, Watson, Eason, Rollins, Lively, Diabate, Santos, Daniels, Kessler)

2023 after wemby has been average to underwhelming(if the draft's best and only starter level players in other than the Alien are Brandon Miller, Amen, Cason Wallace,Derek Lively and Keyonte George, so far thats a pretty shallow draft), and the 2nd round had barely any even slightly NBA viable bench talent(only Camara will be in a the league in 1-2 years), unlike the 2024 and 2022 drafts.

2024 didnt have surefire stars or top-end talent, but has stacked up nicely compared to the 2019,2022,2023 drafts in terms of the depth of talent in the late first and 2nd round. Also was strong in terms of having more starter level role players(Castle, Sarr, Mitchell , Wells, Edey, Clingan, Buzelis) and winning bench players(McCain, Spencer, Ighodaro, Tyson, Shead, Collier).

How do you think the 2027 draft (both 1st and 2nd rounds) will stack up vs the last 3 underwhelming and/or shallow drafts(2019,2022,2023)? Do you think almost all of the talent will be in the top 4 picks, or there will be more even distribution with hidden gems throughout the draft like in 2024?
