Differences in temperature under the sun and shadow

Saw someone commenting on a post in this sub saying the diffenece between having trees making shadow or not was not as much as the images implied.

Well, this was taken in Portugal during a 40c day at 3pm 2 days ago. It's a 25 difference

Temperaturas em diferentes superfícies, ao sol e à sombra

Toda a gente sabe que certas superfícies aquecem mais do que outras, e que ao sol também aquecem mais do que à sombra, mas tinha curiosidade em ver números reais.

Ontem por volta das 3 da tarde fiz o teste com uma termómetro laser na zona de Coimbra. Não sei a temperatura exterior, mas era demasiado alta...

Superfície: temperaturas ao sol/à sombra

Parede branca virada para sul: 42.2/40.4 - fiquei surpreendido com uma diferença tão pequena, talvez o facto de ser branca, vertical e não ser lisa?

Chão de cimento: 65.6/40.7 - aqui dá para ver que independentemente da superfície, o quão importante uma sombra é!

Relva: 47.9/32.4 - duas coisas: primeiro que obviamente absorve bem menos calor do que cimento. Segundo, a diferença é maior do que esperava, mas pode ser porque o laser estava a apanhar terra ou folhas secas em vez de relva?

A conclusão é óbvia, e aquilo que já (quase) toda a gente sabe: precisamos de mais vegetação e sombras. Portugal é dos países onde já vivi (e viajei) onde se vê menos parques, é não se percebe porquê...

Quem percebe mais do assunto que deixe a sua opinião.

A CN Tower vestida com as cores de Portugal

Hoje Portugal joga em Toronto e tem sido interessante ver imagens da cidade na televisão. Tive a oportunidade de viver um ano e meio em Toronto, e está no top 2 das cidades onde mais gostei de viver.

Tirei esta foto em 2023 e por coincidência apanhei a CN Tower com as luzes verdes e vermelhas (está constantemente a mudar). Pode ser que seja um presságio...

Happy 50th Anniversary to the CN Tower

I have been in this sub for a while and I haven't had the opportunity to post much yet.

I lived in Toronto for 1.5 years, and as a photographer I do have tons of photos of the city. I wanted to share some of them in this sub but i have been hesitating, and it's easy to know why...

Got a message saying 4 stars is a bad review? [Spain]

I am overreacting on this message I got from my host?

I have been using Airbnb for over a decade and never got instructions on how to review a listing.

Coins are confusing

So, i am trying to order 2 items, one costs $9.44 and it is discounted to 5.47 with coins. I also have another one at $4.42 but it is $1.64 with coins.

Issue is, when I add both to the cart, the total is $9.76. I do have enough coins, and shipping is free, so Indknt udneftsnd the issue.
