is wearing a sari considered scandalous?

i married into a desi family and my MIL is always asking what clothes to bring me from india, i’ve always asked for a sari but she never gets me one. my SIL told me that saris are only meant to be worn by married women… i am a married woman to her brother… other family members of theirs wear saris too so im just curious is it like not the best to wear a sari?

interfaith marriage

has anyone ever met or heard of interfaith marriages within our culture? I know numerous of arabs marrying outside of our culture, but i’ve never met a christian arab marrying a muslim arab.

I know through celebrities it’s common but is it within our regular communities? Particularly catholic and muslim arabs?

heavily produced show and Ashley isn’t that bad

I feel like the cast knew what scene was gonna be in film. like the conversation between Ashtin and Ashley on the beach, that was obviously staged, same w when Alix announced her brand deal with Dunkin’ donuts, Ashtin and Isabel already knew what she was gonna say.

Ashley is problematic and Alisa is the victim in their scenario, TJ IS THE TRUE VILLIAN HOWEVER, it has been over 17 years and Ashley is trying and i think she is genuine. yes her personality has some flaws but i think she’s a fine addition and is kind of a victim as well to be honest. TJ just gives off predatory in their sense of fame and attention and kind of a narcissist. i support ashley

porsha clocked it at the white party “alotta salt no pepper”

literally BH HARDLY has people of color around their friend group. i honestly feel like Boz is more african than the typical “black american” if Garcelle had a good story line she would’ve ran the BH franchise. this franchise lacks culture and authenticity

truly curious of what the muslim community thinks of people who revert

i’m not talking about reverts who practice better than the born muslims i’m talking about the person who claims islam, partakes in all the right steps like the shahada and fasting etc… yet still posts thirst traps on IG or kind of “appropriates” arab culture.

obviously the right thing to do is ignore but what do u guys think like within this chat of people who do this? i’m kind of torn, like i appreciate the insight to my religion and i want you to continue to practice, but are you just doing this for male attention?

i would post photos here as an example but this subreddit doesn’t allow photos in posts but basically she/he would post thirst traps or arab related content then photos of her reading the quran or at the mosque

bedtime

so my son just turned 9 months. he would take either 3 1 hour naps or 2 1.5 hour naps. sometimes he’ll take 1 3 hour nap which was today.

I put him down for bed at 6PM in which he was very tired, he fell asleep drinking his bottle and as soon as i tucked him in and turned around he woke up drowsy and i thought he’d go back to bed. 1 hour later i hear him babbling and playing i go in, and tuck him back in and he’s playing so i turn on the Mobile device over his crib and leave the room, 30 minutes later he’s still babbling and playing.

I’m feeling guilty like am is this okay to take 2 hours of his day of him just laying in his crib? like what am i supposed to be doing differently in moments like these

eventually he fell asleep at 8PM

Shawn’s apology on IG

Not to be parasocial or anything but has anyone else seen Shawn’s IG post? this apology is corny asl. it’s also really uncomfortable how he is still trying to take control of every situation. sometimes it’s best to just stay quiet. it’s honestly starting to feel hard to watch their scenes and it’s bc of Shawn. I hope Nikki meets a good man bc i would need heavy therapy after this shit

Sincere and Mel lost me when sincere didn’t offer to sleep outside instead

It was at this moment where i was like she looks pathetic and this relationship is actually abusive. i don’t want them to stay as a couple, i don’t want them to win, i don’t even want fame to happen for them because we watched sincere manipulate and gaslight her to the max and she pouts and cries yes i believe she’s hurt and a victim but it’s also bc she knows she’s going back to him also she knows she’s on TV why not make this into an opportunity to inspire women to LEAVE EVEN WHEN ITS HARD. like he’s not worth it no amount of charm can be worth it ESPECIALLY after he let you sleep outside. ultimate ick and melanie if u want to continue with sincere go ahead but im done giving you screen time i’ll be fast forwarding their scenes

i can’t stop thinking about him

this is a hard post for me to make. i’m truly feeling a lot of emotions. making this post for genuine advice.

Also my moral compass is not corrupt. i’m aware this is bad i dont think my feelings are good. i just can’t stop thinking about him.

Back in April, my son was admitted to the ER, he’s now 7 months, and thank god it was for something minor and he is doing great now. However, in April, for about 4 hours, my son has a ER hospitalist that I didn’t realize i had a crush on until after he left.

When he first walked in he immediately asked “where’s dad” I told him he’s out of town (my husband was on a trip with his friends, he told me it was to watch a UFC fight, i later found out it was a lie). He then asked me if i had anyone to help with my son at home, i told him I have my mom too but she’s also out of town. He made a joke: Are your mom and husband on vacation together? i was like no, explained why.. etc. This doctor stayed in my room for about 35 minutes, just chatting with me. small talk. he is married with a 2 year old son, he shared with me his first name bc it was relevant to what he named his son. He kind of made fun of his wife, said she looks like the nanny but at the time i did not realize there could’ve been flirting bc truthfully i was worried about my son at the time.

I noticed the nurses lowkey looking like why is this doctor still in here? he was asking relevant questions, i enjoyed his company and advice. but in between there was banter and friendliness. felt very comforting.

maybe 2 hours later, I had to step out to get food bc we were in triage for like 4 hours before getting a room, it was 10PM at this point. The doctor came in, the lights were closed because my son was sleeping, it was very dark and the doctor came in literally right 40 minutes after his shift ended to tell me about my sons blood results which to be honest were mild, and a nurse could’ve told me this update. i mean right? he waited 20 minutes for me to come back and tell me about these results. in hindsight he was nervous when speaking to me but overall professional.

The next day after we were discharged and things settled i started to think about him, and it was bad bc i felt like i really liked him. 4 days later i submitted a complement of service to patient relations. i don’t know if he got it or what but i just wanted him to know i was thankful for how he handled it.

3 weeks after i saw him, i google searched him and found his linkedin. I went back and forth on whether to connect with him or not. i impulsively submitted a request and realized i couldn’t rescind it or i didn’t know how to so i deleted my linkedin account. literally 10 years of history on that account deleted. i vowed to never search him again and try to move on.

Now we are in the end of June, i googled him again. His linkedin is COMPLETELY UPDATED. it was not updated since 2018 when i first searched him but now its fully updated with a new bio, his account is also now public, there’s an option to message him which before there wasn’t and his profile picture is also updated.

Is this a coincidence? am i delusional? i know we are both married and i don’t even want to break our marriages up i just wanted a second conversation? i dont even know what i want but i think we had a connection, i wonder if he felt the same, i really dont know.
