Customers cant admit they are wrong

4 years of this and Its still infuriating.

"you set my due date to the wrong date"

No, YOU told us you wanted to pay on the last working day

"but I dont get paid until the 10th"

Then maybe should have told us that?? And how does that change anything, youre just paying later in your pay cycle???? Youre not paying twice a month??

Does anyone else realize they are dreaming at somepoint and can force yourself to wake up?

I had a very vivid dream last night, me and my partner had not long got back from holiday, and I was dreaming about being back in the hotel on the last day. Our flight was coming up soon and we kept trying to fit as much activities, drinks, and meals as possible , to the point where our flight left in 30 minutes and we were going to miss it.

In the dream I felt incredibly stressed, looking around outside for taxis, telling her we needed to go or we'll miss the flight, but when her parents showed up outside the hotel to pick us up to go to the airport i suddenly realized it was a dream, because they were 2000 miles away, thought "wake up" and then boom, awake.

I get really vivid dreams, i often wake up confused because it was so realistic and this was one of those times.

Anywhere to go relatively close to south Wales for 1/2 nights? not a caravan park

I just got back from Tenerife and I miss it, I know I wont get the same experience here but I just feel like a taste of it, looking to see if theres anywhere I could go for 1 or 2 nights.

It would be nice to have access to an indoor pool, dinner and breakfast covered, buffet style is fine.

July 11th-13th is what im looking for

My budget for it isnt huge, maybe like £150 at a push. Higher than that I may aswell look to fly away somewhere for a couple days

Id invite holiday packages that are heavily discounted for last minute, just cant find any. I dont drive otherwise id love to look at some log cabin, would be just me

Guy calls in angry every month claiming we charged him twice and demands a refund

Just had him on the phone, checked notes and yep, every month without fail.

We collect payments on the due date around 7am, but then he decides to go into the account and pay again about mid day, then he checks his bank and calls us shouting.

We have offered him each time to change it so he pays manually but he keeps refusing.

I dont get it, just seems like hes doing it on purpose now, the managers keep approving the refunds

Do people actually like Jimmy?

https://preview.redd.it/dod4vczwpm9h1.png?width=250&format=png&auto=webp&s=a4a5892cfc3930973faeb9ece29e7c6dc67a41c1

I cant really tell the general audience vibe of Jimmy. To me his character felt almost a bit forced in, the "cool guy" persona felt very forced. Kinda giving vibes of a child who raided his dads closet.

Nepo child who wanted any reason to be rebellious, his character was an act to feed his sex addiction is my guess. I dont think he ever really loved Fiona, just saw her as easy

Just finished a week on the Island, here's some takeaways

We packed in as much as possible in this week, it was a great week. We stayed in the north just off of Candelaria, but travelled to both the north and south most days for activities.

-The dolphin cruise is definitely worth it, we got to swim in the Atlantic off the coast of Los Gigantes and got some great views of the dolphins, unfortunately no whales showed up but it was still brilliant

-Monkey park was probably my favourite activity, you can get up close with Lemurs which was pretty awesome, you can feed them and its a pretty cheap activity to do for any ages, and you could genuinely spend hours in there

-Las Americas is overrated, I dont know what I expected, it was full of 20-40 year olds riding around on tandem mobility scooters and felt like we were transported to Benidorm, everything was in English, the gift shops were average, it was a complete tourism hellscape. Alright for a day visit, but I couldnt really imagine spending much time there.

-Santa Cruz is lovely, were really glad we chose north of the Island because we wanted to experience actual Tenerife, we went to Parque Marítimo César Manrique which was really nice, I love deep pools and It was really nice to relax and swim there. We went to some really nice local ice cream shops, smoothie bars, local boutiques and independent cafes , google lens was truly my friend.

-We wanted to pack in as much as we possibly could, and the only thing I regret is not spending more time in Santa Cruz and Candelaria town, there was only 1 day we actually spent in the hotel for the full day because we felt like having a mojito and colada binge

When we booked the holiday, I was dreading that we were going right into a tourist trap, that it would just be like going to Blackpool but with nicer weather but It had been the best holiday I have ever had, I get some peoples appeal of wanting to go to the south, basically party for a full week or 2 but its really just not for us, were only in our mid 20's, but Ive always enjoyed the idea of vacations that let you enjoy yourself as if you actually lived in the location.

Most of my previous holidays have been to Cuitadella in Menorca, which was our original plan, but due to a squatter taking over my grans apartment there after she passed we couldnt do it and I was heartbroken, I didnt think anything could have given me as much enjoyment but I'm very pleased with the time I spent in Tenerife and I will be back

Boomer fatigue

Due to the type of work im in I get a lot of confused old people who dont understand how things work, and even just generally seeing them comment on current topics online is draining because they clearly have no idea how bad things are.

House prices and living costs are the one that pmo, they will always bring up "I was paid £15 a week and bought a house", yes Eugene, thats because that house costs £2000, 2.5x your annual salary. With inflation alone that house should now be selling for £40,000, but it doesnt, its £400,000

They can only comprehend surface level numbers, not the fact that mandatory living expenses are over double what they were in the 60's as a percentage compared to income

Do your civil service, and send this link to any boomer you know who acts like this:

SHUT UP I DONT CARE PLEASE SHUT UP

I dont need a 5 minute monologue about all the medical exams you have had in the last 2 months, were a damn loan company, whatever you tell me wont change the outcome compared to someone calling us speaking in grunts and clicks, and then interrupting me when i try and explain the thing we can set up on the account to help you, just to go on another 5 minute monologue about the exact same things you have already told me

(Wales)My grandmother died a few months ago, and a squatter is stopping my dad from being able to settle the estate.

My grandmother died and one part of her estate is a 2 bedroom flat she rented out like an airbnb. This and her main property which was left to my dad brings the estate over the IHT threshold and in total about 100k is due to be paid. There was little cash in the estate, just enough to cover a decent funeral. She had hired someone to clean the flat for her after each time someone had rented it, and it was too far away for her to consistently travel so they had keys. For years she seemed like she could trust her but apparently not.

My gran had no idea about this when alive, but we found out the cleaner had been living there during times where no one was staying, and immediately after learning of her death she decided to move in full time, firstly claiming she had a "verbal agreement", then afterwards claiming to have written permission from my gran to stay there for a year, which she is refusing to show evidence of (this would be her attempt to drag out proceedings). This is also disproven from something my grandmother said a few weeks before she died, as I wanted to visit the area that flat was in and she said I could stay there.

The property needs to be sold to be able to pay the the IHT, and to my understanding after 6 months interest will start adding up. Were well aware evicting a squatter can take a very long time, and can be pretty expensive. With interest going to start piling on that amount from September how can we go forward? By the time this has resolved there will definitely be a huge solicitor bill, and a bunch of interest from the inheritance tax.

There is almost 0 chance of getting anything off this squatter after she's kicked out, we also fully expect the place to be trashed by the time she is out

When does cheap labour get to a point where its actually counter productive

Emails and live chats are mostly dealt with by some people in India and honestly, they dont do anything right. We have to correct so much of their work its insane and creates more work for us.

If they were held to the same standards as us they would have been fired a long time ago but because theyre a cheap office in india they wont get rid of them even though they make our lives harder. They dont follow correct procedure at all and most live chats end up with them calling us instead because they dont answer the chats quick enough, probably hoping they will call instead.

Its just constant and annoying, if i read though chat logs on accounts they often wait over 5 minutes after being connected to even type an opening message. The last one i checked took 10 minutes to pull up the account . Emails are even worse sometimes, they drag out queries way longer than needed, asking the same questions 5 times over because they cant be bothered to look at the replies, and often takes 2 - 4 weeks to resolve an issue that would take us 5 minutes

The worst part is, they actually have more administrative powers than we do, they can do more than us, and they still take so much longer

Were flying out in 2 weeks, how much spending money do you think would be necessary

Were at an all inclusive for a week in the north side. We will probably end up going out 4 days , 3 to santa cruz and 1 to los cristianos / americas as its a bit of a ride

We only intend to drink at the hotel, may get lunch out and eat out for 1 maybe 2 days

Weve changed 625 euro for the week (£550) and I think that would be plenty, the only pricey thing we really want to do is whale watching tour which comes to about 30 each, and the monkey park which is 10 euro

With bus tickets and tickets for the experiences, 2 days eating out and small lunches in local cafes for 3/4 days reasonably I expect that to come to around 250 euro,

I expect ill spend around 70-80 euro on gifts same with my partner

I feel like we have plenty, but ive never been to tenerife, last holiday I had was 10 years ago in Menorca and I spent only 150 euro in 3 weeks there

Sent my drivers licence to PIP on April 12th and they still claim they dont have it

They are so unhelpful "there are delays in royal mail"

Yeh, not 6 weeks.

"speak to royal mail"

They wont do anything since it was the return envelope you provided

"if its lost you can send a complaint in writing in to cover the cost of a new licence"

Yeh so i have to pay out of pocket, wait 2 months for you to acknowledge you have the letter, then 2 more months at least for the complaint to finish, for them to not take responsibility

All while i now have to send a new licence for ID in, youll take 2 months to scan it, then the another 3 months to review my claim

Started the claim at the beginning of march, it sounds like i may not even get an answer until the end of the year. They wont admit that its most likely lost and just keep blaming "royal mail delays"
