Just Me? Or….

I keep seeing the monopoly guy post about this artist CeCe Natalie and yesterday they posted that she had hit 2M monthly listeners on Spotify. This immediately struck me as odd because outside of 2hollis (~5M monthly) almost no one adjacent to this subgenre pulls those numbers. I figured the best thing to do was to compare her streams to followers and engagement on other platforms and was shocked. She has less ig followers than Rommulas after opening for one of the most successful electronic solo acts in recent history (PinkPantheress, 32M monthly on Spotify btw), and despite that has more listeners than underscores almost 2x the monthly listeners of Jane??? What’s going on here? Is it just a listener bump from touring or do you think this is a textbook example of bottled streams?

Manny Slide > Kickflip

Surprisingly technical little combo I’ve been messing with. Super fun and very satisfying to pull off 😁

X-Games w/ FPV Settings

Got a couple FPV clips before the X-Games event ended. Really liked the outdoor setups, probably spent more time outside than in the stadium tbh 😂

A, B, or C?

All of these took a while to get right, especially B (~1 hour).

I’ve noticed there are still a lot of glitches with the player model’s feet going through the board and popping/planting in mid-air which I avoid filming. Other than that the game feels great to play and it’s been fun planning out these tricks!

Y’all think LeBron’s on Letterboxd 🤔

Been thinking about LeBron A LOT lately and thought about the possibility of him having a LB account. I have to know if he’s a David Lynch fan or if he also thinks Nolan is overrated 🥱

Anyway just thought I’d share, about to go back and watch Space Jam (2021). LeBron is so epic 🤗

Any Connection?

The paintings are from the Les Amants series by René Magritte.

I can think of a few reasons this might have been a reference for the cover art, but I’m curious to know if you think there’s any connection.

Hurt MV Analysis - Schitzopost?

First of all respect to u/2estradiol, this post was definitely inspired by her work.

When I watched the MV for Hurt the 2 things that stood out to me were the "T" shaped position/posture assumed by the dancers in the first few seconds of the video and the large statue covering his face later in the video (also visible in the final visual). Given 2hollis has repeatedly expressed an interest in Kabbalah and other esoteric works I will be analyzing through that lense as I have some experience in the field.

1.) The "T" Shaped Posture

https://preview.redd.it/1s5puqzeoogh1.png?width=1919&format=png&auto=webp&s=f16139bb129e4b81c2074f2eda16f2ca215405c9

Tav (ת)= Represent the T sound in Hebrew and is the last letter in the Hebrew alphabet

In Gematria Tav is represented by the number of 400 or 40 x 10

40 = A time of Trial - Noahs 40 Days and Nights, The Israelites 40 years in the desert
10 = Manifestation, Fruition, Completeness

This ties into the name and themes in the song of asking for pain.

Tav also represents judgement or the mercy from it, the black robes are especially significant for this interpretation

Talmud - Shabbat 55a
https://www.sefaria.org/Shabbat.55a?lang=bi

“He, said to the angel Gabriel: Go and inscribe a tav of ink on the foreheads of the righteous as a sign so that the angels of destruction will not have dominion over them. And inscribe a tav of blood on the foreheads of the wicked as a sign so that the angels of destruction will have dominion over them.”

2.) The Statue/Bust

First it is important to understand that that Kabbalah makes a distinction between the right and left sides of the body and their individual parts, here is an example:

Babylonian Talmud - Sotah 47a

https://www.sefaria.org/Sotah.47a.15?lang=b "

"Always let the left hand thrust away and the right hand draw near."

Another example is the distinction between Chesed (Right, kindness or love between people) and Gevurah (Left, divine judgment and limitation) on the Sefirot or "Tree of Life"

https://preview.redd.it/g4gg89bioogh1.jpg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a52f47bf4ff8113d7c0ab170307e905af9ca363d

The next important thing to understand is why one eye might be left uncovered. The Zohar discusses what The Divine's eye/eyes might be like:

Zohar - Idra Raba - Chapter 8
https://www.zohar.com/zohar/Idra%20Raba/chapters/8

  1. It is written: "Behold, the eye of Hashem is upon those who fear him" (Tehilim 33:18), WHICH MEANS ONE EYE. It is written: "The eyes of Hashem, they rove to and fro through the whole earth" (Zechariah 4:10), WHICH MEANS TWO EYES. HE REPLIES: It is no contradiction. Here in Zeir Anpin, THERE ARE TWO EYES, but here in Arich Anpin, THERE IS ONE EYE. In spite of all this, there are two eyes that turn into one, which is white within the white, and the white is inclusive of all that is white.

CONTEXT: Arich Anpin = Sefirot, Idra Raba = The Great Gathering, referred to as one one of the "the greatest story in the Zohar" https://www.jstor.org/stable/jj.8305931

This leaves me with 2 interpretations of the statue:

1.) The right hand (which draws near) is welcoming/embracing the judgement or pain from the left side (Gevurah)

2.) This is an over analysis and is a straightforward reference to common gesture used to reference the "All Seeing Eye" in many esoteric groups.

Needless to say: I found this MV especially interesting, does anyone else have an interpretation of the visuals/symbols?

Edit: Typo
