This has been so fun because I have unintentionally been replicating a real sort of evolution of this English script. Even the printed form is so much from how it began and I assume it will continue changing the more I use it. Here's a letter I wrote to a friend; she knows I like scripts and linguistics in general but doesn't have a key and I'd like to hear her reaction 😂

The last Pontiac GTO ever built, on display in Pontiac, MI

Had the privilege of attending a GTO-themed event at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. Hope I have the privilege of owning one one day too.

Is a Grand Marquis allowed here?

This is Sadie, a 2006 Grand Marquis LS Ultimate. Bought her last year at 141k with almost 0 rust for $3200. She's been to pretty much the entire eastern third of the US with me, and going strong 22k miles later! There isn't much of an MGM sub so I hope this is allowed haha

Spotted my first Azure today!

On holiday and had never seen one before. I have a list of (almost) every car model sold in the US since 2000 and a copy of the list with all the ones I've seen checked off. I can finally check this one!

Not a Mini driver, but I saw this Bayswater Edition and thought it was cool!

One Google Search and I fell down the rabbit hole of special edition Minis 😟 They're rather rare where I'm from but I'm on holiday and went out for a bit of car spotting!

Insurance lapse vs. canceled policy

I sold my car, canceled my Progressive insurance polucy, and moved to the city. I was paying about $160/month (19M, 1 not-at-fault accident, on my own plan, 750 credit score) prior to cancellation for a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis. I am moving back to the country and looking to purchase a car of the same make and model. Progressive is quoting me $200+/month. Did I make a mistake not having auto insurance for several months? Do insurance companies see a gap in insurance as a "lapse" no matter what? How long can I expect my rates to be higher, assuming no more claims? TIA

LENDERS: What are your requirements to minimize the risk being scammed?

I know the chances are never and will never be 0%, but what do your verification requirements look like? How often do you still get scammed? I would like to offer to those who need to borrow on short notice but want to know what I'm doing. TIA

$50 to help a hardworking young parent

Hey everyone, I have a spare $50 this month and while I'm not well off by any means, I want to help out by paying for diapers, groceries, or gas for a hardworking young parent. It's a situation that hits close to home with me and my upbringing. Include details about your job and situation and I will choose someone tonight or tomorrow. God bless you all <3

i'd love to hear your thoughts on it. it's a little more personal, and i actually wrote it the same weekend i wrote "asphalt" so it has a similar chord progression. would love to hear how you may interpret the lyrics as well. love u all x

may it never falter

recently discovered glaive from "y'all" but man, may it never falter is by far my favorite now. i love artists who so very clearly take inspiration from so many places and weave it into their work. what are your favs from either album? "for God and country" and "ik" and "nobody's fault" are def mine from may it never falter. "veni vidi vici" from y'all 1000%. you guys r cool, xo

hey all,

i'm a poet, or whatever the word is

for someone who doesn't know the words for things.

i grew up listening to the midwestern robins

and wondering if they speak the same dialect

as the southern ones,

watching the homeless man on the corner

breathing cleaner air than many of his kin

have the luxury to breathe

and wondering if he knew it.

-

of course, no air today is quite as clean

as it used to be,

but maybe it's my job to make you

take a deep breath anyway,

if not for your lungs,

then for your soul.

:)

-

my name is carlos, and i'd love to exchange letters like this with someone who'd love to exchange letters like this. let me know!

Hey all, I'm seeking some long-term, old-fashioned pen pals to share all the notable moments of life with...on paper! It's a crazy idea, I know.

Here's a bit about me: I grew up in a tiny little rural Midwestern town of about 10 people. We had no TV or ready access to much more than a 50-pound iMac from the late 90s, so I grew up outside. I'd love to tell you ALL about it! I love birdwatching, standing daringly close to the edges of really tall cliffs, and lying on the driveway fixing parts on my car that don't yet need to be fixed. I wouldn't give it up for anything.

I don't regularly use any social media, and even text messages get a bit overwhelming. Instead, I find solace in music and art: writing songs (I'll share them), poetry (I'll share these too), and photography (just ask). I'm rather well-traveled domestically and will have been to about 30 states by this time next month. I keep a ranking of my favorites!

I'm weird, too - fear not. I've adapted several other scripts for the English language, including Cyrillic, Greek, and the Elder Fuþark runes. I've created two of my own as well, and I am fully able to transcribe into/from the International Phonetic Alphabet. I'm conversational in Spanish as well. I love languages! I'll save the rest of the weirdness for any potential pen pals. Send a DM and let's exchange info!
